Im sadly disappointed by the quality of the food redeemed only by the low key professionalism of the single staff member I saw. I ordered the mixed shwarma plate but it came heavily covered in sauce that didnt elevate the flavor but masked the dry meat. The rice was fine as well as the other dish I got (cant recall name). Not trying to be critical but how else does one share notes for improvement.

I love trying new foods, and I especially love mediterranean cuisine. I got the gyro plate with pita bread and hummus on the side. My favorite side is the grape leaves. I enjoy that fresh, unique taste. The fresh lemon juice was delicious.

I have eaten a fair amount of greek food and shawarma town in baytown is the Worst greek place ive ever eaten at. Poor quality food and small portions for what you pay for i ordered a large hummus and got a rockhard pita for a 7oz container of hummus for $9 compared to other greek places the food tastes bad and is cheap quality. Olive tree in pasadena or savvas in Atascocita or even dimassis the greek buffet beats this place 10x over.

First off, THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Hands down. Also, the man who is running the place (I assumed it was the owner) has to be one of the friendliest people Ive met in Baytown. Ill explain why, I hit the gym religiously and Im always concerned with hitting my macros so often times when I go out to eat at a restaurant, I over do it on how many items I order, usually ordering multiple plates for just myself. Every time I do that the restaurant staff never objects because the owner makes more money that way or the waiter gets a bigger tip due to a bigger bill. I know I do this and I know its a really bad habit. But today at Shawarma In Town, when I tried ordering one too many plates for myself the man running the restaurant said no, thats too much in a friendly way of course. He helped me decide on two really tasty dishes and assured me it would be enough and that I wouldnt need that 3rd dish. He was right, it was plenty of food and very satisfying saving my wallet some extra cash and me personally from embarrassment. It might not mean or seem like much to anyone else but I found it very respectable. The guy could have been greedy and easily taken me for all I had but he didnt and that meant everything to me. Then after my wife and I finished our meals we told the man how delicious everything was and asked for two desserts to-go. As I was walking over to the register to pay, he winked at me and said something along the lines of no need, enjoy your dessert I insisted to pay multiple times but he wouldnt take our money and said next time at that point I caved and accepted his generous offer. Took our baklava thanked him again for everything and left. It had to be one of the most wholesome experiences of my entire life. I guess that speaks more on the world we live in today more than anything. To end this review I just want to say, its the little things that count, the restaurant already checked all the boxes for the big things, food, presentation, location, etc. but it was the little things that just made it so much more. Thanks again Shawarma. Ill make sure to get your name next time, and we most certainly will be back!

I tried this place for the first time on Sunday. I ordered the Kafka kebabs and the lamb shank online. When ordering online, the description says the Kafka kebabs come with two kebabs. Then it gives you the option to pick two sides. Same with the lamb shank. Once i selected it, it gave me the option to pick two sides. When i picked up my order, the owner told me that their website is messed up and that the lamb shank only comes with rice, and there s only one kebab in the kebab meal. I wasn t very happy about that because as new customer, how am i supposed to know that? As a courtesy, the owner gave me a complimentary sauce for the rice and a side salad. He wouldn t give me the two sides I d ordered. The lettuce in the salad was literally wilting and turning brown. The kebabs were dry and flavorless. Even with the sauce, the kebabs were not good. The lamb shank was tastey, but only comes with rice. Disappointing. And each of the sides are $7 for a small portion which i think is overpriced. Overall, i wouldn t order here again because of the misinformation on the website and because the food simply is not good.

Good little spot for lunch. Cooked right in front of you. But, you got to keep your racism to yourself when you are working and owning a small business. A burger or sandwich costs $5 but we customers wants to support your business and pay $16 for a regular plate, which is fine. They have to learn to respect the customer no matter what his/her skin color is. The wraps barely have enough meat in them, plus they will not give any sauce or dipping with it. I was asking him for white mayonnaise or dipping and he left to talk to someone. Utterly rude and discrinatory people.

Recently ordered from here, the service was great! But the smell of the restaurant . smelled like burning skin, and I don t know if I came at the wrong time but the food tasted how it smelled in there . More like ZERO STARS!!! I ordered a shawarma via phone and the owner/employee tell me he doesn t have a vertical spit grill and he convinced me to go ahead and order a grilled chicken wrap. Once I arrived the guy was standing behind the counter tells me in five mins. then picks up my wrap WITH HIS BARE HANDS!!!! I look down at the salad station and there was wilted(translucent) slightly brown lettuce that wasn t on ice I cancelled my order and the guy called me on my phone 3 times screaming yelling and cursing me and left a nasty vm (which I have saved just in case). I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE NOR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE .and YES I reported him.

Ordered a chicken shawarma plate and beef gyro plate. This has got to be the most disgusting and disappointing Mediterranean food I ve ever had. The chicken is dry and tasteless The rice is under cooked, the fries are dry and cold and the tzatziki sauce taste like tartar. The beef gyro is just dry sliced meat under the dry undercooked rice. I spent $45 and tossed both plates in the trash. Will NOT ever order from This place again. Do jot recommend this place for food.

I almost regret even writing this because every place I give a glowing review to becomes so insanely busy and I can never get back into the place again. Shawarma in Town is probably the biggest secret in Baytown that I have discovered anyway. My wife and I went there this evening for the first time. The lady running the place was very warm and inviting, she was patient with us knowing we were new to the establishment. As with every place there is the good and the bad. The good... Well the food and the staff. The gyro and the chicken wrap was out of this world. Very flovorfull but in no way over powering. The Shawarma roasting fills the place with a inviting smell. The Bad... The floors were sticky and the menus we used were dirty to the touch. Full disclosure we arrived with less than an hour left in the business day. But with all that said. Been here a few times, was good the first time but the next few times the food was subpar and flavorless or other times out right nasty. The rice portions are extremely minimal, rice is probably the least expensive thing they sell yet they re frugal with it the meat was also undercooked. Staff is not kind and tried to charge us for our own water that we brought in($1.50 a bottle). Maybe it s because of covid but the quality and quantity of food both have been a decrease every time i been there.

One of the best shwarmas around coming from a middle eastern guy who eats gyros and shwarmas regularly; it has the best seasoning and food is never dry. They have a really good cook I think her name is julian who cooks the most delicious shwarmas both chicken and lamb/gyro . I will be coming back

This is not Mediterranean food by no means. I ordered the chicken shawarma meal and everything about it is wrong. The chicken is dry and tasteless, the veggies are not grilled they are pickled, the rice is bland,the hummus is okay. The Tabbouleh is not great either, how do you mess up on that. Delivered with tip came to 31 dollars for something I couldnt even eat, it was just that bad. The so called Naan was supper tough to chew.

Be very careful with this place, they steal you blatantly. They have a price on the menu and when you pay for everything they charge you double, my bill was $ 49 and they charged me $ 82, all a robbery and very bad service. Never recommended

Absolutely awesome! My wife and I were visiting on an anniversary road trip and she found this on a Sunday after we went to worship at a nearby church. Normally Im a boring burger/steak/pizza guy but I went along with her choice. I AM SO GLAD I DID. I wish I could remember the name, but I picked a chicken dish that was FREAKING AMAZING. I was legitimately sad that I couldnt finish it. It was so, so good. The gentleman working brought out some flatbread and hummus too. Ive never had either but tried it and it was really good. An appetizer we had too was great. It was three large fried balls of some kind of ground meat and spices. Super super good. My wife and I are pondering moving to the Baytown or Galveston area in a couple years and I told her if we do, I would go out of my way to eat here.

Wow.... And not in a good way..... I really hate to give a small business a bad review ,but this needs to be said....... Ordered the gyro plate and chicken shawarma plate ... Overcharged....I was offered pita bread ... Overcharged.....order 1 piece of baklava ..charged double....On top of a service fee??? Food was ok but they overcharge. Meals include bread but she charges me separate for bread. A $10.99 shawarma plate and she charged me $14.99 each plate. On top of this I was charged another 3.99% of service charge which she did not have an answer for. Overcharging on dishes plus service fee and tip. Unbelievable. Don t go there at all. They rip you off.

This is the second time Ive ordered from here. The first was from Doordash and it was great. The second I came in person on the way home to grab two plates. I talked to the young man behind the counter and he was not helpful at all. I told him what I ordered through Doordash and he told me they dont do that. I had to pull up the order to show him. He didnt care, the food is really good but the customer service is lacking. I dont see many customers in here and thats not the way to get your business going. Ive recommended the place to all of my friends thats how good I think the place is. Please do better.

Ever since my move from The Netherlands to Texas I wanted to eat shoarma and gyros so badly (there you practically have a shoarma place on every corner)! With garlic sauce of course! Something that is very rare so it seems lol but this place, this place is AMAZING!!! Their food is delicious, their garlic sauce is amazing and the staff is super friendly! Authentic middle east food. Would consider it more Jordan style. Chicken masala is excellent. The shawarma is authentic. I do wish they had the Emirati garlic paste and put fries in them sometimes as an option (even though it is less healthy). I see in some pictures they have the dill vegetables, but havent gotten that. The food is good though. Prices are not cheap, and I think some of the middle east, Indian, etc people are judging their prices on the 3 dirham price they paid back home. This is not back home and prices reflect.... :) I highly recommend this place. No skimping on the rice. They have good basmati rice. Biryani is excellent when they have it. Sam is great. Friendly and is refreshingly humble. Alhamdulillah, I no longer have to travel to the other side of Houston for Arabic food!!!

Not, worth it waste of your time and money. Prepackaged vegetables taste is not fresh. I ordered a chicken kabab, chicken tasted worse then any other restaurant. These arabs charge way of the quality. It seems like they dont even care about the sanitation. They use days old of food on their manu. I dont even know why they are open up until now should run out of business long time ago with such pricy items. Any, of you see their rating 4.5 should not go for that and trust me Im really good at judging the quality of restaurant.
