Elevated southern food- delicious food, fun drinks, and attentive and friendly service. We really enjoyed the biscuits, redfish, and fried honey chicken as well as the grits and peanut butter mousse dessert. The bourbon drinks were delicious as well. Unique mix of people here too.

I was so excited to go here and try the biscuits and cinnamon roll unfortunately I could not try either one they are made with lard. Was so disappointed. My friends did try the biscuits and said they were delicious. Since I don t eat pork my options were limited. I did order the fried catfish I asked for it to be fried hard it was still a little soft but overall it was good. Our waitress Brooke was amazing and so helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fixe Southern House in Austin, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! Here are six reasons why it deserves a five out of five stars: 1. Delicious Fried Chicken: I had the fried chicken, and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Definitely one of the best I ve ever had. 2. Kale Salad: The kale salad was fresh and flavorful, a great complement to the rich flavors of the fried chicken. It was a perfect balance. 3. Outstanding Biscuits: The biscuits are absolutely to die for! They are warm, buttery, and melt in your mouth. I highly recommend trying them with the jam it s a must. 4. Phenomenal Bread Pudding: For dessert, I had the bread pudding, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. It had the perfect texture and sweetness. 5. Top-Notch Service: Our waiter, Curren, was excellent. He was professional, attentive, and made sure our dining experience was flawless. His service added a lot to the overall experience. 6. Warm Southern Ambiance: The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy, making it a great spot to enjoy a fantastic meal with friends or family. I highly recommend Fixe Southern House to anyone looking for great Southern cuisine. Five out of five stars without hesitation!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Everything on the menu is fantastic but the biscuits, fried chicken, pork chop and chicken fried rib eye are some standouts for me. Im here nearly every saturday for their brunch where my staple is the OG Biscuit Sandwich with maple syrup on the side to dip it in...so amazing!! They do happy hour everyday, including weekends, where you can get one of Austins best burgers for $10. Food aside, the place is adorable and the staff is some of the best in town!

What a disappointment. Lies and Deceptions. This is what a $30.00 meal looks like? I opened the bun and noticed that I could not taste the chicken. Why would you do that to Kale Slaw. Truth -I was told the menu went downhill. Such and impressive atmosphere for such a low quality menu. Please call Sweet Georgia Brown.

We had a group of ten for my first visit to Fixe, and it turned out to be an unforgettable evening. The restaurant delivers Southern comfort food with a delightful Cajun twist absolutely my kind of cuisine. The biscuits and potato beignets quickly became my favorites, but honestly, everything we tried was spot on. The pork chops and fried chicken that others in our group ordered looked amazing too, and everyone raved about them. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service made us feel right at home. I m already counting down the days until I can go back!

Go for the biscuits. Stay for the grits. This place does elevated Southern staples, and had perfected many of them. The fried chicken is perfect. And their house hot sauce is great too. Come hungry! The portions are big. Parking: There is some street parking around the corner and a paid garage. All street parking downtown is free on Sundays so I recommend this place for Sunday brunch.

While the food quality is great the flavor seemed lacking. And some things in the food seemed to not have care. For instance ordering a pulled pork sandwich with the pork not fully pulled apart. Getting a huge chunk of tough meat that literally unbalanced the entire sandwich making the bread crumble apart and other thing fall all over the plate. You dont expect a pulled pork sandwich to be a chore to chomp down on. Also tasting bland. The service was amazing. The restaurant is beautiful. The presentation is very memorable. From how drinks were provided to how food is brought.

I really wanted to like this place but we both got very sick. They have great happy hour prices on foods and they are close to home.... Sadly, my husband and I both got sick within about 1.5 hours of our meals... felt unwell before i left the restuarant and just got worse every minute. Probably food poisoning. I had the fried chicken, spouse had the burger. We shared deviled eggs and fries. Food flavors were okay - 10 dollars seems very fair for the portions. Buns on both burger and sandwhich were oddly tough and dry, as other reviewers warned about.... Fries were without seasoning... we didnt spend much but will not be back. Sharing in hopes that the restaurant sees this and will investigate the cause for the illness.

We started with the biscuits, which were extremely delightful then we moved to the entrées, and I got the fried chicken. It came out looking burnt and the outside tasted like potatos. The kale salad was funky. The menu was very limited and there weren t many options for those with dairy allergies. The chocolate truffle cake had too much salt and it was mediocre. All in all this experience was extremely mediocre and I will consider coming back.

We ate at Fixe last year and it was such a pleasant experience. The star of that visit was the cinnamon roll! We have talked about going back for that cinnamon roll for an entire year! This morning we had time and opportunity, so with much enthusiasm we headed to fixe to be reunited with what we dubbed the best cinnamon roll ever . The decor and atmosphere are amazing. We were seated in the big armchairs, they were cozy and comfortable. The waiter came over and immediately started naming stuff they were out of. Mind you it s maybe an hour after opening. I ordered the vegetarian, which was delicious. Then it was time for the highlight the cinnamon roll. It came to the table and was smaller, and more crunchy looking than we remembered. We start eating, making note that it wasn t as good as before. Then we flip it over and it is burnt, not a little brown as the waiter suggested, it was burnt. We told and showed him it was burnt, he said oh, sorry . That was it! Also, my partner wanted oat milk with the cinnamon roll, the waiter said he was running to the store to get several things they were out of and could bring oat milk back no thank you. Not the experience we remembered at all. Not sure we ll be back after the burnt cinnamon roll that was simply dismissed with a very dry sorry with no effort to fix anything .

I was so excited to try this restaurant. I honestly feel bad that I didnt enjoy my experience. If you like a more upscale southern style, you may have a different experience. The ambiance was nice. I thought the bathroom sign that said all staff must wash their hands and moonwalk back to their stations was a cute touch. We went on a Sunday during happy hour arriving at the 3pm start. With very reasonable happy hour prices. The waitress was attentive and friendly. We also used the valet for $13. The valet attendant was friendly as well. The Serrano Rita was tasty. Nice balance of sweet and spicy. I enjoyed the drink. Food: Warm biscuits were delicious. They came with a side of honey, butter and I believe it was a peach jam. They arent on the happy hour menu but you can still order them during happy hour.. Sweet corn and crab hush puppies - very dry with a small amount of corn and just a hint of crab. I didnt enjoy them. Fixe burger nice flavor just a little too much salt. The bun would have been better toasted with butter as it was dry. I preferred the burger less the bun. A friend ordered the fish fry which was a large portion however the fish wasnt as crispy as she would have preferred. Her order came with fries and hush puppies. Fries she liked hush puppies she agreed with me that they didnt wow her.. We both agreed it was one and done..

I can speak to the Little Gem and Caesar salads (amazing, Gem was best), cauli and broccolini (the bleu cheese fondue wasnt too bleu, and was spectacular), deviled eggs (cool and tasty), bacon and crab dip (cheesy goodness), biscuits (really good; the butter, honey, and jam were perfect), and the serrano rita (excellently spicy). I went there yesterday. I ordered the lobster pot pie. I finished them. I throw up after 2 hours. I thought it s just me.. but my friend who ordered the same pot pie also throw up. My husband had a bite of my pot pie. He had an upset stomach today morning. My friend ordered the fried chicken which she also had it last time she came here. But this time the fried chicken was totally no favor. I guess only sugar favor. She asked for a refried, but what comes out is even sweeter. The meat had no favor, only the skin is sweet. Very disappointed. I ll file a BBB ticket to check on the food freshness of this restaurant. This is insane I never walk out of a restaurant with upset stomach .. I am really concerned on their food quality .

Visited here several times, previous experiences were perfectly fine. For tonight, the fried chicken is not fully marinated, taste sweet, totally different from what we had previously. And two of my friends ordered the lobster pie, the both have stomach upset right now and both throw up after 30 minutes; they told me the seafood inside the pie is not fresh at all. Previously, I ordered the same dishes and they all went well. So I think it is the procedure of food prep today is not proper. The one star is for the biscuits, it is always good.

I was most excited to try the biscuits and they were everything I had hoped for and more. They came out fresh and hot from the oven and included the most delicious homemade strawberry jam. Also tried the trout dip and it was quite tasty. My Mom ordered the fried chicken and it looked really unappetizing. Although the coating was over fried and dark, the chicken inside was moist and delicious. She just cut off as much coating as she could. My daughter ordered the catfish and loved it. Fixie Southern House, located in downtown Austin, serves up a delightful brunch experience with a menu that boasts a variety of tempting options. The highlight? Undoubtedly the great coffee, perfectly complementing the flavorful dishes. The cinnamon roll is a standout, offering a sweet start to the morning, while the French toast earns high marks for its deliciousness. However, the breakfast biscuits were merely okay, not quite reaching the same level of satisfaction. Overall, Fixie Southern House is a solid choice for brunch, offering good food and great coffee in a cozy atmosphere.

Fixe is a culinary staple in Austin! Their fried chicken is absolutely divine, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, a true comfort food masterpiece. The biscuits are simply irresistible. The red fish was absolutely perfect. Combine these standout dishes with impeccable service, and youve got yourself a five-star dining experience at Fixe. Highly recommend!

Amazing dinner last night accompanied by delicious large cocktails. I turned the Tea-totaler into a Teatime by adding bourbon, highly recommend. Biscuits are a must! Every entree we ordered was worth it, definitely get some fried chicken to share. The pecan pie was icing on the cake. Go with an appetite, leave contented. Will be back without a doubt.

Attentive and personable service the moment we entered the establishment. Our waiter was not only knowledgeable about the food but also provided recommendations for nightlife after our meal. The food was incredible, from the deviled eggs to the fried chicken to the lobster and crawfish pot pie. Don t be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone and try some of the regionally inspired dishes. They do not disappoint!

Nice little restaurant for a fun night out. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was good. We had the famous biscuits for starters, and they were good, but NOT BLOW YOUR MIND THE BEST YOUVE EVER HAD good. I had shrimp and grits, and my husband had a hamburger (hes boring), and the food was good. I enjoyed my meal, but he said the burger was just a burger (well, duh). I gave it 5 stars because I didnt have anything negative to say, but Im not sure I would come back for dinner. I would come back to try brunch one day, if that helps. Its definitely worth trying.

Three of us went for Happy Hour. We had burgers ($9, $1 to add bacon, and $4 for double meat, but you dont need it.) Excellent, although they tend to be on the rare side. Biscuits ($4 each) are a must... pillowy, luscious, and with honey butter, honey and preserves. Great pimiento cheese, although a bit on the spicy side, outstanding hush puppies, and great deviled eggs. Also, great drink specials. We had a nice booth (could have had table), near a beautiful collection of plates on the wall. Really elegant, spotless restrooms. Our server was just so gracious, helpful, and made it a wonderful experience. Dinner entrees are mostly in $30s. We spent $97 for 3 people at Happy Hour, but with double burgers, drinks, biscuits, pimiento cheese with grilled bread, hush puppies, fries and deviled eggs. Yes, we carbed out big time, but it was delicious, and I didnt have any food reactions, which is good for me. We are on vacation, so I wanted to try it all. If I went again, I would do either a single burger ($10 with bacon) or Catfish ($12), plus a biscuit ($4) and hush puppies (single digits for a nice basket, cant remember). It is a very nice, elegant, relaxing place. They do like their peppers and spice, but there are options.

Had dinner on a Thursday evening with reservations. Early dinner (5:30) before heading to concert at Moody ATX. It wasnt bust but we did have reservations just in case. We started with biscuits which were awesome, some of the best Ive had. Perfectly cooked and moist, served with honey and jam. For my entre, I ordered Salmon and my wife ordered Grilled Chicken. My Salmon was delicious! It was well prepared and the flavors came through perfectly. My wifes chicken was tasty with a subtle smoke flavor enhancing the dish. She also raved about the Kale that was served with her chicken saying it was the best she has had. We had Fries along with our meal, just because! They were good but we couldnt finish them because we were too full! I ended my meal with an old fashioned that was perfectly prepared. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Service was great the entire evening. I highly recommend Fixe Southern House! Parking: As is common in downtown Austin, parking can be a challenge. We found paid street parking about 2 blocks away.

I ate here as a part of a very large group - 21 people. The food was delicious and the atmosphere great, but what I was really impressed with was the service, especially our server, Katie. We had a miscommunication with how many people would be in our group and when a group of 21 came in when they were expecting 16, Katie took it all in stride and calmly started making changes and working with the other servers to make sure we were accommodated in a very quick and easy manner. She was also exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions and options with a smile while also getting to know us, why we were all there, and even getting to us on an individual level. She was a rockstar and I highly recommend requesting her to be your server!!
