I ve been coming to this place for years, but I stopped because I moved to another city. The last two times I came to eat, it s no longer *Willie s BBQ.* The brisket doesn t have much flavor anymore; they serve it very dry and tasteless. If you don t put enough BBQ sauce on it, it tastes more like plastic. They hardly give you any pickles or onions anymore. Honestly, I don t really recommend it much now.

I m disappointed that the food is not the same compared to the first few years they were open. My brisket potato had zero flavor, even after I put a lot of bbq sauce. It just tasted like a plain potato with bbq sauce. I also ordered the mac n cheese and the recipe has changed. It s processed mac n cheese, before it was creamy/cheesy and had a food homemade flavor to it. Now it tastes fake and it was just un-appetizing. I went home and tried to finish the potato and couldn t and gagged after my last bite.

Super packed at lunch and can t place an order over the phone to avoid long wait. All the manager owner yelled at me without the courtesy of apologizing was were real busy. Hire another person to help on register. Believe me they can afford someone else with their prices. Very rude and bad service. The food is ok. Its a shame there was s no other bbq place on n Alamo or I would ve gone somewhere else.

I had heard good reviews about this place but sadly I was disappointed today. The brisket was so dry as well as the chicken. My dad had gotten the ribs and when he bite into it it seemed uncooked. The corn on the cob was also very squishy.

This place is delish. The moist brisket was tasty and almost didnt need the sauce. But with the sauce was awesome. The sides though! Potato salad was amazing and tasty. Mac and cheese tastes like kraft which was great. But the coleslaw. If you like KFC Coleslaw this is that on crack. Delicious creamy but the apple and raisins! **Chefs kiss**. Came here on a whim while visiting and playing Pokemon go in the area and it did not disappoint. Parking: Parking lot was small but not sure if there was more nearby.

Got there early, by 1130am to avoid lunch rush & to get the freshest food. Our food today was terrible. I had the dryest brisket the kitchen could find. There was a gentleman cutting the brisket as he filled orders by the register, the brisket looked moist and delicious. When I got my plate, total opposite, looked like it had sat and gave me nothing but 4 little pieces of dry brisket. Chicken leg quarter was ok, nothing special. My macaroni and cheese was so cold I exchanged it for something else. Also, Im not a fan of the thick Texas toast. Id prefer 2 pieces of thin white vs just one thick piece and having to pay extra for another slice. (If you want extra bread, you have to go stand in line again) Tea area was dirty, used lemon wedges everywhere, even inside the ice machine. Unsweet tea had an aftertaste, like it was from the previous day. My sister ordered a beef rib plate. The rib was so burned that it ruined the meal because each bite tasted bitter. My dads rib was ok, not too much char. Id probably give this a 2.5 experience over all.

I have been going since I was a kid. Not sure if under new management but or what. I called in today at 3pm to order what was intended to be my familys Easter dinner. So it is closed Sunday so I ordered today as a dinner. They explained they would close at 7 pm so I ordered to be picked up at 6 pm. I show up and they tell me sorry we made it at 3 then threw them out. Why when I ordered to pick up at 6. Her respond oh when they took the order they forget to include that info, too bad. Um ok now what. The lady there was so unapologetic and uncaring like whatever who cares about your kids dinner. Im so disappointed in this place and will never go here again. The Willie Bs in Edinburg is so much better anyway.

The brisket was dry and cold when it finally got out to us. They charge extra for pickles and pico de gallo is considered a side. Most if not all the places I ve been to where they have pico it s a condiment not a side. The pico was missing lime juice and was flavorless. For the amount they charge it was very disappointing. The other Willie B s in Edinburg is by far way better. I d even say Rudy s is better which is saying a lot.

The food is good but service needs improvement. We had a list of what we wanted and we made it clear what we wanted when ordering via the drive thru. Now we ordered Shrimp and stated shrimp plate. We are told the wait as the seafood takes a while and we understand that the shrimp will take a while so when we finally get our order and get home. Opening the plate we discover that we received fish instead of shrimp. We called the store to find out what happened as we made it clear we wanted shrimp not fish and how did that happen. The lady said there must have been a miscommunication as they had charged us fish instead of what we requested. On the phone we spoke to the lady Melissa if I am not mistaken who said they didnt have any shrimp but that people make errors we are not perfect and that she could still eat the fish and at least you have something to eat. The issue is not about being perfect, its that customers go to get what they order not whatever you want to give out. Service is the issue not food. And I want to reiterate as the lady told us on the phone, we all make errors please put that on the review.

Great standard BBQ restaurant. The combo meat platters seem to be a good deal for the price. The BBQ sauce was pipe-ing hot in the bottle, super fresh with a good flavor. Limited parking, but even when the restaurant is full, youll get your food in 10 minutes or less. Parking: About 10 spots on each side of the building. You can park at the church across the side street if necessary. Wheelchair accessibility: Long ADA accessible ramp on the south side of the building.

I placed an order by phone, I arrived at the place, they gave me my order and when I took out my order, surprise they had not given me the meats, only the accessories, I spoke and they told me to come pick it up, I told them I live as far as the north of Edinburgh and they only told me They said come, we have it ready for you when you arrive, I arrived and I told them I am the person who comes for the meat from the package and they told me to wait a little while because it is not ready yet, in the end they gave it to me and the ribs were too toasted and the fajita super dry, I am very dissatisfied today

Well that was a lunch! Everyone was happy with their choice from the Beef Rib to the Chopped Brisket Sandwich. I had the 2 meat combo with 3 sides while my spouse had the Potato with The Works subbing fajita for brisket. The two meats I chose were Lean Brisket and Pulled Pork though I was heartily tempted by the Sausage. They were great and their signature sauce has just a hint of fruit. Most BBQ places fail on sides, but not so here. The Mac & Cheese was creamy & flavourful. The slaw had raisins and apple bits approaching a Waldorf. I doubled up on that.

This was the worst place I ate on my three day trip to the valley. The staff locked me out 25 minutes before close. Then they locked me and ten other people inside after they closed!! We needed to walk back into the kitchen to find a staff member with a key to let us out. Plus the turkey plate was abysmal. Not even smoked. Tasted like cheap lunch meat. Sides were gross too. Place is neat and clean, was our first time dining in. Maybe my mistake was not sayin it was our 1st time, cashier had to notice i was having trouble ordering. My parents wanted beef ribs i asked how big they were she had someone there show me. I continue to order and when it was time for our drinks i asked where was the beverage section she said behind me. I told her ty that it was our 1st time there. Not sure if she was tired or what, but you can tell when someone is new at the restaurant, and as i that knows customer service at least explain the basic info once being told its your 1st time. So the people wont be lost. Food was well served. However i felt the chopped brisket was a bit to hard to chew. My daughters chicken was okay, and the beef ribs too.

Our kids ate before me and my wife. Finally got my order 2 fajita tacos and mashed potatoes. I unwrapped the taco to add BBQ sauce and a freaking small roach walked out of my wrapped taco. This really ruined our meal and grossed us out. They gave me a couple more tacos but nobody apologized or anything. I paid $60 for this ruined meal. I believe that for what they charge they should really be fumigating for pests monthly. We wont be coming back here. Very disappointed! To say the least. Domingo Benavidez

The loaded baked potato with brisket and the bbq sauce was excellent. Tea was weak and the ice machine was clogged up, I asked but they were so busy no one could tend to it, so Luke warm tea it was.

I think this restaurant might be a little overrated. Everybody I spoke with, told me, you have to get Willys bbq. So, I did, and, to me personally, it was ok. Nothing to brag about. However, I did not get their stuffed baked potato, which is what all the ravings were about. Vegetarian options: I didnt see any sort of vegetarian options. I would have been disappointed if I had seen vegetarian options at a bbq joint!

Some of the best BBQ around. An absolute INSTITUTION in the rgv. If youre from here you know.... if youre from out of town make it a stop. Its pricey but worth everything penny and calorie
