Well, if San Antonio has its River Walk, then Austin has The River Run! Hundreds of joggers in packs as large as 12 on the hunt for early retirement of their leg joints bustle up and down both sides of the river here. I was stunned as I rolled into the parking lot to see how busy it was at 6:30 am on a Saturday summer morning. With the temps hitting 97 today, I dot blame them. Hot, sweaty young bodies fill the lanes for everyone to see, but thats not why I am here. I explore, you see, I travel for work and while on the company dime, I see as much of America that I can possibly take in a few hours at a time. Austin to me looks beautiful. Lou Neff was the pinnacle of observation for my stay here. Its a great place to end up, with places like the pool, mini railroad for the kids, and multitudes of other attractions. Parking on the weekends is free until 8 am, I suggest you get here early before full sun rise to take some lovely pictures of the Austin skyline with the Colorado River in the foreground.

Great view of Austin downtown skyline. Its always busy. Theres a trail for walking or biking. Theres a huge garden to make a picnic out of the day. In summers, the river will be full of people paddle boarding, kayaking or just sitting right there and having lunch. 10/10 would recommend to visit any season.

Amazing spot which has to be experienced by actually being there! It gives you an amazing sight and on a perfectly clear sky day the view looks amazing with the floating clouds, the tall buildings, Clear blue sky, the reflection from the water is just perfect! It s easy to reach the spot and they have seating areas all around the place. If you come to Zilker Park don t miss this gem. It may get crowded depending upon the time or day you visit. It connects to trails which you can cycle or walk along! Tons of people go kayaking from here and there are many walkers, runners and cyclists who go along the trail that connects to this point.

We stumbled upon this park and we were stunned. It is very pleasant and Lou Neff Point was beautiful! The gazebo was stunning. We took photos with the Austin skyline behind us. We walked down the path along the river, along the banks of the river and discover a couple turtles. As we watched, the turtles keep swimming up. There were easily 30 turtles, with more coming as we left. Highly recommend to tourists and to natives who havent been.

Most serene location near Zilker park and often unknown to tourists visiting Austin due to its interior placement.People jog, kayak around the Lou neff point in the evenings and parking is available on either sides of the zilker park. Sweet spot for capturing Austin Downtown view with beautiful background (attached pics) Its very quite location and gives a lot of privacy to enjoy the downtown view. Caution- kindly be advised that the place gets too dark after evenings and would be difficult for newcomers to reach the main road (there are no lights available in pathway to Lou Neff point). Also carry an DSLR to capture beautiful views of downtown Austin
