They dont keep up with it and the grass and everything is overgrown. Of course were seeing more snakes now. I wish they would cut it at least once a month or hell even quarterly.

Very thankful for these little pieces of nature in the city! My pup and I practice walking off leash here (where appropriate). Love how you can get lost but never too far. My dog LOVES playing in the creek and usually finds other dogs doing so. She does have sensitive paws and they have gotten rubbed raw on the wet gravel in the creek, so if you have a sensitive dog, try some booties. Main trails in are paved, and you can wander off to many dirt hiking trails. Not much incline unless you cross the creek and traverse the green belt. Some trails are well-marked, some even with distance markers, but further trails not so much. I wish it was clearer which trails are for bikes makes me unsure if I m supposed to be on certain trails but . either way, listen for bikers so you can get out of the way. Disappointing to see how much poop people leave behind (sometimes in bags you re halfway there yall cmon now ) but that ain t the greenbelt s fault. Let s respect what greenery we do have in this city, please! We all poop but we don t all leave it for folks to step in ;)

Probably one of the best parks in Central Texas. Nice cement path for about 10 miles of riding/ running. Link in off-road trails for riding or running and there is a nice selection of skill levels available. Watch for heavier traffic near the main entrance. Study a map before you get there to see where you want to go. There is a lot to unpack. My fave is Log Loop 1. I feel like a little kid there.

Fantastic hike thats just under 3 miles to Copperfield Park and back. There is no loop, rather the hike is shaped like a U. We took the Trotwood entrance. Be sure to respect where you park because this is literally a residential area. There are multiple entrances like Byers or even at Copperfield Park itself. There are no trash cans except when you get to the park, so pack it in and pack it out. There is access to some water throughout, and the trails are mainly pretty muddy or sandy...so post-rainy hikes will be messy. Dogs must be on-leash, but I did see some dogs off-leash throughout the hike. Its a fabulously shaded hike that the dogs, kids and families will love.

It was extremely difficult to find an entrance to this green belt. You had to park in a neighborhood and then walk a little bit. Nothing was really marked and the trail went behind grocery stores and gas stations. Not the most ideal for a solo hiker

Absolutely love this trail!!! Firsts discovered it through Walnut Creek Metropolitan park off of Lamar and followed it to Metric where Gracywoods neighborhood park is . We recently moved to the area and the trail is within walking distance - and in the other direction it goes to Mopac. We have not covered the entire trail as of yet but plan to. There are parks along the way and the park over there by Lamar has a pool, so there is a place to cool down on a hot Texas Day. The trail is paved and some of it is shaded and some not. Good for walking dogs, bicycling, or just plain ole walking. Lots of places to stop for picnics. We are always fans of this expansive trail system and grateful to be so close to it.
