Its great to see in person. But all the floors are pretty much the same, and the first initial five minutes was the highlight when you step in and look up at the dome and take in how magnificent it is. Elevators were pain-stakingly slow for some reason. Park and benches on the outside were great to let kiddos roam.

One should visit the capitol building if you are in Austin . Please check the tour timings. Tours are working after COVID. We visited in Feb 2022. They explain the history of the capitol building . You you happen to visit on a working day , you may get a chance to go inside the senate and house rooms on the 3rd floor . There is free public parking available at the back of the capitol building . Also plenty of Meter parking on the street. Also have a glance of capitol building at night . You will definitely like it .

There is no parking nearby, but if you are lucky you can park along the road. You can view the inside of the building for free.

Beautiful weather in Austin. Pecan trees on state grounds bearing their fruit. Attended Tuba Christmas tradition. Kudos to the brave sixtet that played to keep the Tuba Christmas tradition going. The beautiful Texas State Capitol is taller than our nations capitol.

Gorgeous building. However closed to tours due to Covid. Parking around the Capitol is virtually impossible as all parking meters have been changed to no parking with towing enforced. Capitol Police guarding in vehicles stayed a great distance from the fences to keep from answering questions from Tourists.

We love the beautiful Capitol building of Texas. We come here periodically for walks and to enjoy the history around it as well. This time we can for a peaceful demonstration to raise awareness on human trafficking. It was World Day Against the Trafficking of Humans. We represented Operation Underground Railroad. We will be back for walks someday when the gates arent all locked up.
