The food was absolutely delicious, but it was a little confusing at first. Limited menu with unusual items, several gluten free. Needed explanations for most things, which is not normal for us. (We are avid foodies.) Once we understood that they recommend sharing plates (and they explained the ingredients), we got several plates. We really enjoyed it all and had great service. I just cant give it 5 stars because it seems like they want to keep it a little challenging to be unique. Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free items

Swift s Attic in downtown Austin is a must-visit, combining creative dishes with a cool, vibrant vibe. The food was exceptional we especially loved the blistered shishito peppers and the flavorful wagyu burger. What truly stood out, though, was the fantastic cocktail experience, thanks to **Fern, the bartender**. He s a master mixologist who crafts drinks with precision and creativity. His recommendations were spot-on, and his engaging personality added to the whole experience. For great food and even better drinks, Swift s Attic and Fern are a winning combo!

We had an Awesome first night experience in Austin at Swift s Attic. We got there just before kitchen closed and they were able to put in our order and it came out super fast. Fernando, our bartender, gave a ton of great recommendations for local spots and both the whiskey selection and cocktail menu was top notch. Highly recommend here for dinner and then head to the Jazz bar underneath.

Our experience at Swifts Attic was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we checked in with the host to the moment we left, everything was perfect. The food was phenomenal unique blends of flavors I wouldnt normally try ended up being amazing. But what really stood out was the impeccable teamwork and atmosphere. We were fortunate to have Sarah as our main server, and she was fantastic. Kira also helped out and was equally amazing. Fern, the bartender, crafted some of the best drinks weve had, and Curtis, the general manager, ensured everything ran smoothly. The front-of-house team, which had about five members, was exceptional. We were helped by every single team member multiple times. They were on top of everything empty glasses and plates disappeared almost instantly. What impressed me the most was how personable everyone was. You really felt like you were being taken care of by family, and that made the experience even better. Swifts Attic is worth every penny. We cant wait to return!

Hidden downtown gem! Definitely worth a visit if you are into bourbons and whiskey, one of the best selections in town. They also have a signature cocktail called the ice ball where all the ingredients of an old-fashioned are frozen and then your liquor of choice is port over the top. It s delicious and efficient !

She brought us our check before the dessert arrived, when we told her we were waiting on dessert she simply said i know . We felt rushed and it was just rude. The bartender at the Hilton Canopy recommended this spot for us as we were checking out various places to go in downtown for drinks and bites. My friend knows her bourbons and the bartender suggested this should be our first stop on our tour. You walk up the stairs to Swifts Attic (downstairs is The Elephant Room jazz bar, which is also very cool) and the decor is a mixture of beautiful old wood with modern touches. The bourbons line the back of the bar wall, so we sat at the bar to peruse the selections. Nate was the bartender and was extremely knowledgeable about all the bourbons. (He was a connoisseur himself!) My friend and him talked up various bourbons and bourbon trees of various distilleries. She wanted to try something different than what she had enjoyed in the past. Nate made some excellent suggestions I was told. Im more a vodka drinker and Nate made me various specialty cocktails as I told him to surprise me (and boy, did he ever!) Since we were there for happy hour, Nate provided the associated menu, and we selected the Rillette & Focaccia plate. It contained chicken, chorizo, a bourbon gel, avocado purée, pickled onions, pecans and toasted Focaccia bread. Nate said you spread the ingredients of choice on the bread, and he recommended putting all the ingredients together as the flavors all complement each other. Boy, was he right again! I highly recommend this place if you love bourbon, specialty cocktails and attentive and knowledgeable service. Ask for Nate and you will not be disappointed!

Solid, affordable standby with a diverse, well-prepared menu, friendly staff, and outstanding location. (Pop up for dinner and then down to The Elephant Room for jazz and lowballs before heading home, or down 6th Street in one direction or another for a late, fun night.) It s a bit noisy in a good way if you are looking for a festive spot but a completely reliable and enjoyable option for dinner downtown

Cute place, lots of character. Service was a little slow and all over the place but I can understand that in a restaurant on Valentine s Day. The prix fix menu contained a lot of shell fish and they made a decent effort to accommodate my husband s allergy. The food was cool and all but I m really happy that I didn t show up starving because the portions were tiny for the price. They literally gave us an egg in a bowl of uncooked rice? Idk I thought it was bizarre to list everything in this egg when they dropped the plate but failed to mention that the rice was completely inedible lmao. We had a good time here though. A nice vibe and decor, and the drinks were delicious. Charming enough that all the mistakes and weird things were entertaining. I think I will go back for their regular menu one night and update my review.

I run a non-profit and we were in Austin hosting our annual conference. We were looking for a venue to host a women in neurology networking event and we are so happy that we found Swifts Attic. We had a full buyout of the space on a Saturday night and I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the event. The venue itself is so fun and inviting and a perfect layout for mingling with small nooks for sitting down with a friends to catch up. The team that we worked with for this event went above and beyond for us. Shout out to Curtis and Samuel for really bringing the vent magic. All of their staff were engaging, polite, fast. There was never anyone waiting to place a drink order, or a cup out of place. The buffet was replenished before you even knew it was getting low and the waiters navigated the packed room with ease! Honestly, we have done many events over the years and this was the best venue and team we have ever worked with. If you are in Austin and need a great venue, Swifts Attic is it! Also, try the iceball cocktails!!

Food was good, but ordered a BTAC flight and the server brought it out with a Four Gate Pour because they ran out of William Larue Weller. Typically your server should let you know about this before they bring it to the table or the flight should be removed from the menu. Still was charged $60 for the flight. Also they forgot a dish we ordered and had to wait until end of dinner to receive it.

Cozy atmosphere but the food and drinks are mediocre and came out within 5minutes of the order being placed, before our drinks had even been served. Food must be preprepared in advance and reheated as orders come in. It was giving Chili s quality at a steak dinner price point. The drink are delicious but unless you re getting one of their ice ball speciality drinks, the pours are WEAK. Felt like we were in Utah. Service is good but not great. Overall a fine experience but not worth coming back to, especially at the price point. There are much better options in Austin!

Swifts Attic, oh boy, where do I even begin? This place is like a culinary carnival for your taste buds, set against the backdrop of Austins quirky charm. Nestled somewhere between upscale chic and funky eccentricity, Swifts Attic is not just a restaurant; its a gastronomic adventure that takes you on a wild ride. The first thing that strikes you is the ambiance its like stepping into a bohemian dreamland where vintage meets avant-garde. The decor is a mishmash of eclectic elements, with hanging birdcages, mismatched chandeliers, and walls adorned with an assortment of curiosities that make you feel like youve stumbled into a gastronomic Wonderland. Now, lets talk about the menu, or should I say, the edible poetry that unfolds on your plate. The culinary maestros at Swifts Attic have mastered the art of turning ordinary ingredients into extraordinary creations. Take their Sweet Potato Fries with Espresso Aioli its a flavor symphony that dances on your palate. The crispiness of the fries, coupled with the unexpected kick of espresso in the aioli, is nothing short of genius. And dont get me started on the Bacon-Wrapped Dates. Whoever thought of pairing the salty richness of bacon with the natural sweetness of dates deserves a culinary Nobel Prize. These bite-sized delights are like little parcels of happiness that explode in your mouth with every savory-sweet bite. Now, lets talk about the main courses, which are basically culinary wizardry disguised as dishes. The Truffled Mushroom Risotto is a creamy concoction that transports you to umami heaven. Each spoonful is a blissful journey through the velvety richness of the risotto, punctuated by the earthy notes of truffle that linger on your taste buds like a fond memory. The Seared Scallops with Mango Salsa are a tropical delight that proves seafood doesnt have to be reserved for coastal escapes. The perfectly seared scallops, paired with the zesty mango salsa, create a symphony of flavors thats as refreshing as a beach breeze. And lets not forget the cocktails oh, the cocktails! Swifts Attic doesnt just serve drinks; they craft liquid masterpieces. The Basil Gin Fizz is a herbal delight that tickles your taste buds in all the right ways, while the Spicy Cucumber Margarita is a fiesta in a glass, with just the right amount of kick to keep things interesting. Service here is not just efficient; its delivered with a side of charm. The staff seems to genuinely love what they do, and their passion for the food and the experience is contagious. Theyll guide you through the menu with the enthusiasm of someone recommending their favorite book. In a city known for its food scene, Swifts Attic manages to stand out not just for its culinary prowess but for the sheer audacity of its creativity. Its not just a restaurant; its an experience, a celebration of flavor, and a testament to the idea that dining out should be an adventure, not just a meal. So, if youre in Austin and craving a dining experience thats as bold and vibrant as the city itself, Swifts Attic is the place to be.

We d requested a quiet corner table for two, got the middle of the room Rushed early courses, not sure who was our server multiple people stopped by at first, then no one for an hour so had to go ask for the check could really have enjoyed a drink but who to ask? We were with a party of 7 so gratuity was included and our server didn t seem to care since he knew he was getting 20%. The portions are small so they suggested 8-14 dishes for a party of 7. He forgot 3 of them like never even put them in and still tried to charge us for 2 . The halibut was disgusting for $40+. The pad Thai was good. Sushi had almost no steak in it for $20 but it was pretty good. Drinks were okay but nothing special. Overall was about $400 we spent before tip. Honestly the whataburger we had later was better for $. I d recommend getting a round and maybe 2-3 apps then getting dinner elsewhere. Too many flavors. Dates were good

We held our group event at Swifts Attic-- Keep in mind, majority of our group is from Florida and a tad bit high maintenance (respectfully speaking), so theyre a challenging group to please. As the event planner and personally never having been to the Austin area myself, it was tricky to narrow down our venue options there was so much to choose from. Im so glad we decided on Swifts Attic; Samuel and his team were immaculate from the very beginning. From the planning, communicating, to the day of the event, everything went flawlessly from start to finish. Our group adored the venue, the menu, and the vibes. If youre new to the Austin area, planning an event, or just want a great spot to enjoy your evening, this is the place.

Food: we ordered fried brussel sprouts, broccoli crunch salad, dont call me chicken, boom bap, and pae yay yuh. The chicken and brussel sprouts were a table favorite. The wagyu was cooked perfectly but the table didnt like the after taste of the fried paella. Overall we had a great time and agreed well all be back! This is one of our favorite spots for drinks and appetizers before we go listen to music at the Elephant Room as it is in the same building on the 3rd floor. The Tiger Apricots are the best. I m not a huge fan of apricots, but these are so worth the trip. Wrapped in bacon accompanied by a chipotle honey sauce - amazing!

Food was good. Some dishes I enjoyed more than others. The sorbet dessert was my favorite and is probably the only thing that sticks out of really wanting to go back for. Mushroom risotto was good but not amazing (and not cheap but there was a lot of shaved truffle on it). Apricot bacon app was ok-lots of people raved about it on other reviews but it wasn t our favorite, just a little odd of a flavor combo and texture all together. Brussel sprouts were pretty good. The churro dessert was decent but not nearly as good as the other dessert (that was a 10 out of 10). The food overall didn t sit the best though over night. Our server was nice but definitely didn t seem like they were super thrilled to be there. Very neutral service. Enjoyed the wine we ordered. Overall decent experience but wouldn t be rushing back for the prices.

This is such a cute place trying so hard but nothing is quite right. The grapefruit old fashion has club soda, the strawberry daiquiri is reinvented as a sphere of ice floating on pure spirit. The wagyu isn t even prime. I don t mind a tougher cut of meat just the entire experience feels just a bit contrived and artificial like if my Midwest grandma was on Chopped and they told her to cook Korean

The place over all was very strange. Service was particularly fast we ordered 7 dishes all served to us in under an hour and honestly the portion size and the prices of the food didn t match (everything was over priced) and I typically will not mind price at all. The food was nothing exceptional eaither it all tasted average while the upstairs environment is initially inviting the ambience leaves much to be desired. Idk how this place has maintained such a high rating honestly compared to many of the downtown locations in Austin to eat at this place was lacking in so many ways I was not impressed at all and will never be going back again.

I will start by saying that the food quality and taste were great. The drinks were also very good and the service friendly and prompt. One big negative is the drink prices though - very high in my opinion and I can get just as good drinks elsewhere fior less cost. The other negative to me is that they suggest ordering and eating in family / tapas style - which we did - but that leads to a confusing hodgepodge of items flying around the table. You never feel like you get a full meal and cant easily know what youve spent until you get the bill. When the dust settled, including the 20% tip they added (we were a group of 10), the bill ended up being around $100 per person for food and drink. If I were to come back (not sure due to drink prices) I would not order family style but by couple. At least we would have a better idea of what we were spending.

I recommend a reservation if you want an actual table, seemed like walk ups had to wait for a table or sit in more lounging areas. Server was awesome, happy with the service. Let s start with the good. My wife s cocktail (w/Tequila, ginger beer and a fruit ice ball) was quite good. My cocktail, essentially an old fashioned, was nothing special, but acceptable. The edamame with pop rocks was just weird? I mean, why? Just because you can doesn t mean you should. The Fungus Among Us risotto was enjoyed, but it was like they sweetened it. For a savory dish, it didn t make sense. It made it just good, rather than exceptional. Now the bad - the shrimp and grits came out cold. How? Grits don t get cold fast. Something seriously wrong in the kitchen. We didn t send it back because we were starving and no one came by to check on us. They did credit us later, so they get points for that. The Wagyu baseball sirloin? It started as a good piece of meat, I think. It also came out a tad cool (even on the outside) but not overly so. But it was cooked unevenly on one side versus the other. It is a shame to give so little attention to detail to Wagyu. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience.

Another 5 star restaurant in downtown Austin, The Swift Attic! It has a speakeasy decor in a 160 year old building! There was exposed brick, I think original wooden floors, just architectural beauty! A grand carpeted staircase, the cozy bar had an industrial feel to it with great cocktails, plenty of restaurant seating. For ADA needs, we did find out there is an elevator in the back. You might need to call them to meet you in the back of the building to guide you to the elevator. I used them on the way out. The menu was spectacular! We ordered the shishito peppers, creamy mushroom risotto, and the special of the day the Chilean sea bass served with mashed purple potatoes and prosciutto wrapped asparagus. Mmmmmm! Everything was amazing, filled with flavors and the fish was so buttery and fluffy; like eating little clouds. They were so kind to treat us with dessert for our 14th wedding anniversary. We had churro donuts with ice cream, and a swirl of raspberry and chocolate. It was the perfect end to our evening. I m excited to return and try something else on their menu because everything looked and tasted so good. But don t take my word for it and make your reservation today!

This place has a great vibe to it, hole in the wall. Unique setting. I got the Swift Kick in the Chicken & Fungus Among Us Risotto. The Risotto had to be the star from this place. The best Risotto I have had in Austin. The dessert we got were churros and they were okay. They had a more sour taste to it then sweet, the ice cream made it better but overall the churros were decent. The 4 star rating is due to the fact how salty the chicken was, which kind of threw off everything. Overall, a nice place with great service.

This used to be a favorite of mine as I grew up in Austin. I ve been coming here for over 8 years, but this place has truly fallen off. I ve had countless birthday dinners here and I ve hosted an event here. It s terribly different now and much worse- I couldn t believe it. I was so sad. They have pretty much turned over is entire menu. A gem once known for its creative and delicious small plates such as the slow roasted pork and the pig in the blanket tapa now serves what seems much larger over salted and flavorless plates that are not well presented as they used to be. We started with fried mashed potatoes which were very pedestrian and the kale Caesar salad topped with so much cheese- it was good, tasty. It ended up being the best thing we ate that night, and it s not a great sign when the salad is the best thing you order. We then got the pad Thai, the lamb meatballs, and the shishito peppers. It s hard to mess up shishito peppers but somehow they had no flavor at all. The pad Thai tried to be creative with carrot noodles but was so salty I couldn t finish it. The lamb meatballs were so dry and also over salted. We then proceeded to just cancel the rest of the entrees we had coming because it wasn t enjoyable. The waitress was extremely kind though, and a manager came to speak to us taking 30$ off our bill, and comping us a free dessert- churros- which also tasted burnt, hard and kind of like cardboard sadly. But we were well taken care of, and the service was very kind. The food just wasn t great anymore, and I won t come back to what was always my favorite restaurant here.. :( The ice ball cocktail was really good though.
