Girl taking orders looked like she preferred to be elsewhere but still managed to be okay. Order the shrimp and catfish platter with hush puppies. I dont really like hush puppies but didnt want to spend almost $3. for coleslaw. Shrimp breading was too crispy. Catfish breading was perfect in ratio to fish. Place Has a small town feeling even though it is located in downtown Arlington. Wheelchair accessibility: They have ramps for those needing to use a wheelchair or just not able to use stairs.

My dad and I visited on July 4th and had oysters and the daily specials which was the shrimp boil. Luis was our server and was very friendly and even advised it was cheaper to buy the draft than the bottle of beer we were going to order. He was very friendly and enthusiastic. The oysters were delicious and I was surprised at how many shrimp are in 1 lbs. Overall if I lived in Arlington I would visit here often.

In the bustling culinary landscape, Flying Fish has carved out a niche, promising a harmonious blend of visual appeal and gastronomic delight. However, the reality of my dining experience fell tragically short of this promise. Flying Fish promised much but delivered little. The awkward ordering process, requiring patrons to line up and squint at a menu on a TV screen, set an unfortunate tone for the evening. The food, despite its visual appeal, was a letdown. The hush puppies were a rare bright spot with a satisfying flavor and texture. However, the shrimp and salad were bland and tasteless, failing to live up to their promise. Overall, the experience was a disappointing 5 out of 10. Flying Fish needs to reevaluate its approach, as it currently falls short of the culinary excellence one expects in this vibrant city. In addition, it truly resembles the line more hype than flavor.

Best seafood place in town for your $$ was my 2018 review. Now, while the much smaller portions are still good, the value is very poor. They have raised prices and shrunk portions to the point that you can bet your still going to be hungry after you eat. Its a shame that good restaurants do this and destroy their rep. I would guess fish portions are down 30-40% as well as the sides. Cant recommend Flying Fish on value. Its actually terrible.

The food was okay, I got the fried shrimp it was really overcooked and thin almost rubbery. The top of my mouth was so damaged from the shrimp. Not worth it for the price though.

Goodness. Their catfish filets are fried to crispy perfection, their hush puppies are crunchy and golden brown (but need to be bigger!), and theyre quick and friendly and always serving a good crowd. Very pleasant dining area. Updated 04.10.24 - My husband and I were headed to another local restaurant when he said, Let me know if you want me to turn around and go to Flying Fish. That was all the persuasion I needed. Done! And I had not one regret for changing my mind. I had a catfish fillet, a couple of shrimp, and the crispiest okra you ever put in your mouth! Sooooo good!

Food is fresh and the kitchen is easily seen, the energy coming from it and the smells of the food draw you in. The bayou music playing and the food cooking are the perfect mixture for an excellent meal experience. Vegetarian options: The spinach is what I always order when choosing the vegetable plate. Steamed with garlic and served hot. Beans are delicious as well, the cilantro makes this dish. The corn is served whole and buttery and doesnt taste as if sat in water, tastes freshly cooked. Tried the green beans, not something I will order a second time. Parking: Picnic tables are also outside and 2 indoor dining rooms. Kid-friendliness: Kids will be too busy eating to be thinking of doing anything else. Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp entrance if needed.

She said okay and continued plating the dine in order on the counter. 15 minutes later, she asks again what the name is and pulls out the order from under the counter, which has been there the whole time. I already hate this and should have said something, but I took it home because were hungry, and I dont want to wait another half hour or longer to get my food. Surprise, the food is cold. Ive never experienced this here before and I hope they dont do it again, if I ever decide to go back.

Im sorry to say but I did not have a good experience at all and needless to say, I shouldve known when I saw the work crew at the establishment. Not to sound rude or racist but I knew not to order at a seafood place where Mexicans work. Im a southern girl, born and raised on the Gulf in Alabama, the Port of seafood and I know how seafood and especially GUMBO is suppose to taste. The gumbo tasted like it was scorched and as if they mixed some red bean juice into it or something. It was awful. And on top of that, I saw a roach on the table as I was checking to make sure my food I ordered was right.

Decent food. I got the catfish platter with 3 fillets, fries and two baby hush puppies. Decently seasoned fried food but could ve used maybe a little kick of Tony s or slap yo mama in the batter. Maybe they should consider a spicy option to tickle all palates. Otherwise, I d go back. One more thing, when you walk in there s a picture wall of caucasoid folk staring back at you that was a little off-putting so prepare yourself for that. Lol

The gumbo was almost black & pasty. Probably had 2 shrimps & maybe 3 pieces of diced sausage. The shrimp loaf was just as disappointing. My wife had the fried catfish & shrimp. No flavor. Very poor food. I wish i had taken pics to keep people from getting ripped off. 1st time there. Never going back...

Really great spot. The burgers are so unique and delicious. They give out cards with celebrity names for when your order is ready. The atmosphere is amazing! They have a pickle bar and it s delicious. Made a fun little game of guessing the flavors: bread and butter is the way to go. The seasonal shake of the month (gingerbread cake) was so beyond delicious. I could live off of it. The millionaire burger came with a mountain of onion rings, the server/cook laughed thinking I wouldn t be able to eat it all. So good! The other is the jam burger. Goat cheese and jam is always a win! That burger is a bit sweeter but it is in fact delicious. The mayo sauce on the onion rings also killed.

I loved it here! The Cajun platter was amazing and the price really wasnt bad. I couldve used a little more room, too many tables but thats the only negative thing I can say. Ill certainly be returning when Im in town
