We had to move Dad to assisted living, over an hour away from his house, and wanted to sell the house quickly. Don met with me at the house shortly after I contacted him, and he let me know what to do to get ready to put the house on the market. He also got the spare house key from the neighbor and brought the trash bins into the garage that we had left out for trash day as we did the final clean-up. What took the longest was the estate sale and cleaning out the house afterward, then Don arranged for pictures and the house went on the market on a Monday. The following day we got the best offer, above what we were asking, and closed about a month later. Jennifer was awesome; she always kept me in the loop as to what was going on, she set up the roofer and plumber to do repairs and get paid from proceeds, and also let the title company know we wanted to do a remote closing, as I wanted to avoid taking Dad on the long drive to Arlington. I cant say enough about how great Don and Jennifer were, always willing to help and a pleasure to work with!

We needed to sell our home quickly to act on a house that we wanted to purchase. We contacted Open Door, got their initial offer, and made an appointment for an on-site evaluation. That evaluation would determine how much they were going to subtract for repairs. Even before a repair adjustment, the initial offer was much lower than we knew our house was worth. But we didnt think we had the time to go through a traditional realtor. We decided to call Don Lawyer anyway to see what he and his team could do. He came out and was confident that he could sell our home quickly and we could close with much more money in our pockets than with Open Door. So we cancelled our Open Door appointment and signed with Don. We had an offer in a week, and closed exactly one month after signing with Don. We were able to purchase the home we wanted and didnt leave a considerable amount of money on the table. Thank you Don and Jennifer. Your team really came through!

Don is the best real estate agent I have ever worked with! Heres why. I was there 34 years ago when Don helped my parents buy their forever home in Arlington. As a teenager, one does not really think about your parents real estate agent, but my father was unusually impressed with Dons professionalism, knowledge of the area, and the attention he gave them. Dons name stuck with me as maybe the only sales person my father ever actually liked. When the time came for me to settle their estate, I needed someone I could trust to help me sell the home remotely (I live outside of Texas). Don Lawyers name was at the top of my list. When I called his office, Don immediately remembered my parents. I was touched that after so many years, so many other real estate transactions, Don remembered my family even though it was just a modest home transaction all those years ago. I was fortunate to sell this house at a good time. Even though homes were selling within days of listing, Don took the time to clearly explain his fees, describe the strategy of setting the listing price, evaluate the offers we received, and answer questions about all the paperwork that goes with selling a home. Beyond that, Don helped me prepare the property before putting it on the market. His photographer worked magic to put the home in the best light. He worked with me to coordinate service contractors and routine maintenance. Whenever I asked if he could refer me to a roofer, a handyman, a cleaning crew, etc. Don had a reliable contact. Moreover, Don has put together an office and staff to meet any challenge. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Don Lawyer and his team! We have used Don as our realtor for many years and will not consider using anyone else! He gave us great expert advice on things to do to get our house ready to sell and it worked. The first weekend we had 23 showings and by Monday we had nine offers, all but one over asking price. We got so much more than we ever expected, and I think a large part of it was Dons advice on the amount to list the house for instead of overpricing and letting it sit on the market for a long time. We also worked with his assistant Jennifer. She was wonderful and put up with all of our questions and helped coordinate showings and inspections and various other things dealing with the sell. Don and his associate Jennifer made the whole process simple and stress free. Don knew exactly what price point to list our house, and as a result it sold in 4 days for $25,000 more than we were asking. They also arranged for a remote closing because we were no longer living in the area. Communication was excellent throughout the process. There was a last minute (literally) issue with the buyer wanting a petty concession for a doorbell, but Don graciously covered that cost for us so that we could close as scheduled. I highly recommend Don and Jennifer!

We are glad that we went with Don and his team to sell our house. The choice of a realtor is critical to the successful sale - to determine a reasonable and fair selling price and how quickly the house sells. We were a little apprehensive at first since an earlier realtor gave us bad advice and caused unnecessary expense to stage the house etc. But Don was very practical and the way he and his team work with social media and other ways to expose the house to potential buyers, we were able to have more showings than we had with previous realtors and the house sold quickly. We interviewed several real estate companies. Some really talked up the personalized experience, not rushing things, etc. Don came with a completely different approach. Listing our house with Don was like getting in with a machine. He gave us VERY SPECIFIC suggestions to do before we listed our house. As soon as we did those, the action began. Staging, photographer, listing went up, open house and offers right away. We priced it a little high, but had several offers. Jennifer Murphy, in consultation with Don, guided us through making decisions. We were provided with concrete advice about the pros and cons of each offer, so that we could make informed decisions. When it came to buying a house, Susan Simmons, one of Don s agents, helped us find the perfect home. We were really impressed that after looking at a few homes together, she really understood what we wanted. When the right house was coming up, she knew about it ahead of time, and moved quickly to help us get it. Dear future homeowners/sellers, Although our house sold within three weeks I can not give much credit to the Don Lawyer Real Estate Team. It was a sellers market in the summer of 2020 and the area in which our home was in was booming. Our main concern with the Don Lawyer Real Estate Team was the lack of communication. We would be waiting to hear back numerous times, at one point we had a couple come in without an appointment approval and several people came into the house without masks and gloves as requested. We felt we had to make decisions regarding the terms of the house on our own and as a first time seller it was daunting and intimidating. Don, Jennifer and Jen made selling my home efficient and relatively fast. Don definitely understands the marketing and utilizes it for the sellers benefit. We had a large amount of showings beginning one to two days after listing resulting in several offers. Jennifer is very efficient working with the seller up to the contract signing, while Jen is unparalleled in her abilities to get the buyer and seller to closing. Don and his team did a remarkable job helping us sell two homes in short order. We were put into a panic when the new home we were building was going to be finished 45 days sooner than we were expecting. Don has team members to support every step of the process from getting the home staged for pictures to getting necessary repairs made and negotiations that take place through close. His team even helped us sell several items of furniture in one of our houses. The knowledge and contacts that Don and his team have made getting the houses ready to sell much easier than it otherwise would have been. My husband and I had tried to sell our house on and off for three years using the same realtor each time we put it on the market. We didnt have any luck. We took the house off the market for about 6 months. During that time we received a marketing letter from Don Lawyer. I usually throw those letters away but this one was different. This letter had a $1.00 in it. I wasnt about to throw that away!!! Well, his marketing strategy worked. It wasnt annoying and it got my attention. His team supported us by getting some last minute required changes done both efficiently and affordably.. This was my first sale of a home. Unsure of the market and what needed to be done to get the house marketable. Don was generous with suggestions, very open about potential issues, and very wise when receiving offers. Putting my house in the hands of Don was the best choice ever. I hired Don Lawyer to sell my property after I had a very bad experience with one realtor for 4 months, even though I had a very beautiful home in a prime location, it didnt sell because of that inexperienced realtor, then I hired Don Lawyer to take over, he was able to sell the house with my asking price- the other realtor was pushing to lower the price to sell it quickly, but Don sold it quick with his 28 years of experience and knowledge not by lowering the price. I was in a position where I needed to sell my house fairly quickly and as-is as I didnt have the money needed to invest in repairs or upgrades. When I interviewed another agent, even after telling her I needed to sell as-is, she told me Id need to make several repairs before putting it on the market. When I interviewed Don, he listened to me when I told him I needed to sell it as-is and worked out a strategy to make it work. Two days after officially putting it on the market, I received a cash offer and a month later, we closed on the sale. I was expecting a long, drawn-out sales process because of the work needed on my home, but was surprised at how painless it was. I was kept up to date on the negotiations and his assistant, Deborah, was very helpful and accommodating. I especially liked the convenience of being able to review and sign almost all of the paperwork electronically, so I didnt need to take time out of my work day. I walked away with more money than I had anticipated before I started the selling process and the speed with which it sold was just icing on the cake!
