Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I had order my burger with cheese and when at the drive through, I asked to fix my burger and they declined, said they couldn t fix it or give me a new one because the burger was made already. I don t understand, why they couldn t just add the cheese if I m paying for it??? Plus my fries were cold. DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING TO THIS WHATABURGER

One of Texass great fast food chains. Been going to this location for decades,one of the first Whataburger in Mesquite and in the area. Ive never had any issues. Provided condiments, napkins w/o having to ask. One of few Whataburgers with the iconic big triangle roofs! Keeping the original look but keeps it well maintained. Also, there are plenty of covered parking spots if you want to park and eat your food while its hot & fresh!

If you don t mind awaiting 20 minutes + for food, this is the place. The wait time for your food is always extensive here. Really sad place and management is horrible and don t like you to speak your concerns regarding wait time. Either hire more employees or shut it down. No one should ever have to await 20+ minutes for hot food. Just sad!

Sometimes the lines are long and take very long. Ive waited 20+ minutes in drive through, but well worth the wait! The staff are always kind and the food is delicious! I recommend the spicy bacon burger meal, the patty melt and all the kids meals are good. The chocolate chip cookie is also good.

I know to keep my expectations realistic. However, my recent visit Whataburger was beyond disappointing. Its clear that management has let things slide significantly.Upon arriving, I was taken aback by the disarray from not having any buns to not having any cup holders as i approached the window, I couldnt help but glance inside, only to be met with a snarky comment from the employee: Why are you looking in here You just place your order. This kind of attitude is a clear indication of how little they care about customer experience.From the messy counters to the indifferent staff, it seems that the management has completely checked out. Fast food doesnt have to be gourmet, but basic cleanliness and courteous service should be a given. Unfortunately she failed miserably on both counts.Save your time and money and go somewhere that values its customers and takes pride in its service.

This Whataburger is in the original style of buildings and gave the place a retro vibe that was out of this world. Curbside pickup was quick, and the young lady was super kind to go back in and get some creamer that I forgot to ask for! Great service and attitude.

It is so rare I dont leave a 5-star review. I know businesses are struggling, and ratings drive the industry. If I cant leave 5, I tend to not review at all. Yet, I cant morally or ethically give this store a rating higher than 1-star. The food is what youd expect, so is the long wait like most Whataburger locations, but this store at Belt Line and Kearney/Gross Rd has the rudest, nosiest staff Ive ever encountered. I dont go to a drive-thru to be interrogated about my day, I dont know anyone who does. One employee asked me loudly out the drive-thru window, you mad bro? and out of the kindness of my heart I ignored the question but he asked again, louder. I wasnt, until he had asked it the second time. Ill elaborate: After providing my unlocked phone, I was rudely informed we dont take apple pay, when I dont use Apple at all, in any context, as a rule. My tap to pay literally mimics my cards tap, and has always been accepted anywhere that has tap to pay capability. I said as much, indicating that the employee should try again. Another employee shoved past them, interrupting, insisting I need to give them the physical card. So, trying to not hold up the line, I immediately began to dig it out of my bag, where it has been packed for nearly six months. Its 2024 legitimate businesses with a real tap to pay do not ask for my card, so theres no reason for me to keep it within easy reach. While digging through my bag to fulfill their arguably ridiculous assertion, is when the younger looking employee shouted, you mad bro? and when I didnt instantly answer him hey bro, you mad that you need your card? Im nearly 40, Im not your bro, Im a customer in your line, and my mood (or the cause of it) is none of your business. NO, BRO, I wasnt mad, right up until you were so brazenly disrespectful, and loudly asked me twice if I was mad. Ironic, when you couldve just politely requested an alternate payment method from me, like an adult, and I wouldnt have thought twice about it. The people I know in this area warned me to not go to this particular store, that I should detour and visit any nicer Whataburger, and I wish to God I had listened to them. Im a chill guy, it takes a whole whole lot to upset me at all, and today I left the Whataburger in a seething rage. Ive learned my lesson. I wont be back. I really hope everyone learns from my experience dont go. It doesnt matter how good the food might be if the staff is rude. EDITED TO ADD: They also forgot my ordered condiments, and didnt include napkins. So in addition to being rude, they also are incapable of handing you a complete order. You have been warned dont waste your time or money at this one. Parking: Its a classic drive-in with a drive-thru. Be prepared to park either way, youre almost certainly not getting your order at the window

This location is the worst. Every time we come (which is like once every 4 months) we have a issue with the order and unfortunately it s one of the only places open past 10 near us. We came here on Saturday 07/06 at 11:15 pm and there was only 2 other cars in the drive thru. When we pulled up to get our order taken we were told it was a 25-35 minute wait JUST TO GET OUR TAKEN! Yes! TAKEN. I thought that was ridiculous for a fast food place. We obviously left, but will never try to give this whataburger a chance ever again.

Used to love coming to this location but the service has been less than satisfactory in the past few months. I ve had two different negative experiences. First experience involved getting a cold hamburger combo. The meat was cold and you could obviously tell that it wasn t fresh. When I made a complaint to the girl that charged me for my meal, she responded by saying that the meat was placed on the bun straight off the grill. Which was not the case because the burger was cold to the touch. Not very professional customer service from the girl. If a customer complains, that s not how you respond. My burger was remade but it made the overall experience uncomfortable. Second experience involved ordering a chicken tender combo so that I could avoid the same type of situation with something being wrong with the food. I chose to dine in, so I waited for my combo for more than 20 minutes. I didnt see a sign of anyone coming to give me my order so I stood up, took my receipt to the front, and only then one of the employees called my order number to be picked up when she saw me standing at the front. Overall just disappointed at how much the customer service has changed.

But my comment for today 04/26/2024 I have ordered online recently and my last 2 deliveries have been incomplete. The employees at the kearney location in mesquite, tx, need to be more attentive to what there doing, and making sure all orders are correct before leaving restaurant for delivery. This review is more over this locations lack of being able to do breakfast. Not so much in the food is bad but repeatedly, I have tried to pick up food from here (usually around 1230 to 130 in the morning or so) and I am told that it isnt ready, started or any other number of excuses. I can understand this happening possibly once or twice, but I have went by this location multiple times within 3 weeks and have had the same run around of no breakfast. If youre unwilling to do breakfast, then just close up and open back up at 12 in the afternoon. Stop wasting everyones time.

I had the worst experience at any Whataburger ever. They were not busy, and there were only 2 vehicles in front of me in the drive-thru. I ordered a Whataburger combo only. We stopped by for a quick bite. There were 4 employees at the counter when we walked in and no one acknowledged us. Someone finally took our order and when the young lady brought our food out she threw our tray on the table. I let that go thinking it was me, but when she threw our condiments down on our tray I had to make her aware of her actions. I was not mad, but it was rude. She didnt apologize, she just walked off and said nothing. Whataburger please train your people!!! At least say hello or good morning. A little kindness/courtesy goes along way. Never again 01/01/2024- Hubbies food was cold and the service was horrible.

Really bad service.. gave me a really cold coffee asked for a fresh one, she got mad, asked for cream and splenda,she got more mad and then just handed me creamers no Splenda or sugar and slammed the window..

When ordering for mobile delivery from this location they have messed up the order. The honey butter chicken biscuit has been made with _one_ chicken STRIP every time I ve ordered it over the past two months. Dinky thing be looking like a sideways tie fighter. It s like getting a hotdog on a burger instead of a patty. They have also consistently gotten my drink orders wrong. I love WhataBurger, but this location has consistently disappointed me for months.

Not happy half way through my Burger I decided to take some onions out of my burger just to see a bug in it , service was good tho but I wont be coming back to this location no wonder the manager keep getting on to them back there . At night, those who serve better are outside smoking and do not serve people. I do not recommend this place. Apart from that, they take a long time, bad service. Manager like your job. If not, I will ask them to close down the place.

Worst store in the area by far. They take just as long to take your order as they do to make it. Then 30mins later your order isnt even close to what its supposed to be. Ive complained to this store many times because I have a fairly simple order and they cant even get that right. Disrespectful on top of all of that too. This store used to be the best one in mesquite but I will not be returning to this one for a good while.

I want to suggest a regional manager come and do a whole overhaul of this location. I dont wanna just leave a bad review . I wanna believe that nobody knows how bad things are here . We stood in a line , one that didnt exist. And it wasnt a single person at the counter. One of the cooks finally apologized for the wait and attempted to help us. After ordering our food, it didnt take as long as the time it took for us to give them our order, so thats the one and only honest positive part.

I was in the restaurant today, i should have known better busy time. I got there and paid for my food at 1638pm and did not get my food until 1716pm. When asked what was taken so long, the Mexican girl at the counter apologized. The manager heard me, I requested my money back, he said OK give her the money, then asked for my receipt, he then told let me check to see if the tenders are ready. Im sure he could see how frustrated i was, he wasnt rude very nice. I told him no i am good, he said you sure, let me check. He went around the back and asked the lady cooking and she yelled out............ YEAH, ITS A WAIT, WE HAVE A LOT OF ORDERS, WERE BUSY, WE WILL GET ORDERS OUT WHEN WE CAN. FIRST of all, that is not how you speak to people a manager asking for a guest order .. let them know a head of time running behind, I believe you 4people in the kitchen cooking, its not hard to be nice. I am sure if she was going somewhere to eat, and it was her MONEY she would not want to be waiting over 20mins for food without explanation It was very unprofessional, and someone working for a big organization like WHATABURGER should not have that attitude. I received my food finally, very hot and delicious. I know that they were busy, I know the work area, as i work in the restaurant industry as well. BUT never would i ever treat or yell out rudely. I had a person i knew that was about to order food but when she heard the conversation she went to another Whataburger. She told me this is why she doesnt go to that restaurant, as she too works in the food industry.

Don t. Come. Here. If you want fast service and accurate food order. You will wait for a minimum of 30 minutes at the drive-thru with little to no cars regardless. Whoever manages/owns this place really NEEDS to make a change before people rather choose the other 2 whataburgers nearby, regardless of its aesthetics.

If you don t have 30 minutes to wait, don t bother. Doesn t matter how you order. You ll sit at the drive thru waiting for them to notice you. Then you ll wait forever at the window. No one will check in, update, or even look at you. Six cars behind us bailed out of line. They clearly gave our food to someone else or forgot it, but there was no explanation. No apology. Just here s your food, too bad you had to wait, get out. Terrible service, go somewhere else.

This is got to be one of the cutest water burger is of all time with its classic A Frame Drive-In style look. Unfortunately the staff here does not really care so the lobby was dirty And so were the surrounding parking spaces outside. I went there for take out and was told it would be a 30 to 40 minute wait 43 combo Mills because there were only 4 people working and too many cars in the drive through so I left. While leaving I noticed that there were 2 vehicles in the drive through and recall that the lobby was completely empty so it seems they are unable to handle any capacity at all. I highly recommend driving 4 to 5 minutes to either one of the next 2 nearest water burgers.

If I could give no stars, I would. This was the worst Waterburger Ive been to. It took all 7 employees to cook 1 cheeseburger and Jr burger with fries and onion rings 20 minutes. I was the only person inside and one car at the drive-through. My food was cold and my wife had to throw her burger away because how bad it was. By the time the manager came up front, there was 4 customers inside and 6 cars in the drive-through waiting on food. Another thing I did not like was the employees was dropping the F word and the N word. To the manager, fire everyone and start over with a more diverse work place.
