Tortilleria Lupita is a gem! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The chile verde gorditas were absolutely delicious and had the perfect amount of spice. The homemade tortillas were amazing I had to buy some to take home! I can t wait to get back to Amarillo to eat here again and stock up on more of those tortillas. Definitely worth a visit!

CHECKING MY RECEIPT THE CASHIER STOLE 7 DOLLARS OF CHANGE FROM ME, I HOPE THEY HAVE BEEN SERVICEABLE TO YOU The barbecue is average, it lacks salt and it doesnt look like barbecue so much as shredded meat but it does have a zero! It is in the attention of the lady who takes the order, she ignored me and I only ordered 2 lb of barbecue while people came and went with burritos and large orders, and she didnt even look at me. Until I went to ask him he reluctantly gave me my order.

Friendly staff!! Even open on the 4th of July! Incredible breakfast burrito and taco! The tortillas are so fresh! We tried both the flour and corn! The salsa is delicious! Will stop here every time we are in Amarillo now!

My granddaughter brought us here for breakfast last week on the way to Denver. It was the best REAL Mexican food I ve had in 30 years. Truly Authentic! We are on our way back to Dallas and will have breakfast here tomorrow. I was hoping to have dinner tonight also but it s closed. Dang! You must try a real authentic taste of Mexico! You won t regret it! Oh! Real homemade corn tortillas! You ll want to take at least a dozen home. They freeze well!!! My personal favorite so far is pork in red sauce burrito Yummo! Just like my abuelita use to make!

Its a good place to eat and has multiple locations around town but this one here is opened a lot more even has a place to sit down and eat on the inside. Even have some other little things like candy chips and seasonings that you can buy or look at while youre waiting for your food. I received the rojo and it was amazing one burrito did the trick for me. Theres parking in the front of the building. Did they must try place if you are on that side of town

I shouldve written this sooner. I used to work with a guy who swore by this place. He finally got me to try it for lunch one day, and Ive never regretted it. They may not have the selection some places do--no guacamole, for instance--but what they do have is high quality, well beyond what youd expect for the very reasonable prices. Update: Sadly, this business seems to have shut down. All of its locations that I know of either now house different businesses or appear abandoned. Its too bad, they really were good. RIP Lupitas.

I came in as I was driving cross country from LA and got two burritos, one chile rojo and one barbacoa. Two were pretty filling, the flour tortillas were thicker and chewier than the ones in L.A. They were AMAZING. Thr corn tortillas were ridiculously good as well. They were also thick, chewy and had a very strong but delicious corn flavor. These are the best tortillas I have ever had, period. Ive eaten so many different types in L.A especially the ones that compete annually in the Tortilla competitions. The food was awesome and the lady who helped me was super friendly. I cant wait to drive back through and stop here again.

They also own a food truck in town (Lupitas Mexican Food), not too far away from here. Vegetarian options: You can order the breakfast burrito with no meat (eggs, potatoes, cheese), and add beans (refried). Not sure if those have lard?

Lupitas is excellent, almost always, top notch, and a definite must; however, this review is about the recent tamales we ordered. The store bought grainy out of the flour bag masa was a complete disaster. The meat had no flavor or seasonings, totally uncharacteristic of Lupitas. Its like they got tired of making tamales that day, or they subcontracted the work to Taco Bell. I love Lupitas, my whole family loves Lupitas, they just had a terrible day. Ill be back, Ill continue introducing people to this place. Food is part of my love language. Extra, Extra, Read all about it...Prices have Sky Rocketed! No longer worth the value.
