My husband and I are both active duty military passing through TX to our next station and we have had the pleasure of stopping by the Big Texan for dinner and we had the most incredible service by Alexia (Lexi). We were so pleased by the attentive care, thoughtfulness and care to our entire stay! The food was amazing but her service alone was a welcoming rest stop! We will gladly stop by again and pass her name to a fellow service members. Thank you kindly!

The Big Texan Brewery is located inside the Big Texan Steak Ranch. If youre thinking this is a stand alone Brewery, it is actually a counter inside the building. The beers are good. Nice selection, flavorful and I particularly enjoyed their Bomb City Rock, Bock styled beer. We had food at the bar, Mountain Oysters (IYKYK) cause you got to try them. They were tender and tasty. Also the rib sampler and the flavor was good and they were tender. So, why 3 stars? I think the service fell flat and the bar location was, for me, awkward.

This place was so much fun. We stayed at the RV park with a driver (Mark) who drove us to this restaurant in his town car with a longhorn bolted to the front, in Texas fashion. Upon arrival, we enjoyed side salads, a very Texas BBQ sampler and a giant chocolate cake. The dinner rolls -- so ridiculously good and served with REAL butter. We met other guests who were passing through like we were and challenged them to a game of corn hole. While we lost the game, we won in the experience. This place is a MUST if youre in Amarillo, Texas. Very Texas yeehaaw

Ordered the fried oysters and didn t realize they were actually fried testicles. Staff should definitely let you know what it is before you order it. Just sayin . Thankfully the nice guys at the bar told me what it was before I bit into one.

My husband and I always try several local craft breweries while on vacation so while in Amarillo we decided to try Big Texan. We know not every beer is good for everyones tastes but the two different beers we ordered were so off/funky in taste they were undrinkable. When we told the bar tender, he only gave an amused smile, not even a sorry to hear that or would you like to try something else. We ended up just leaving. For the high prices they charge, we expected better.

We stopped on our way back from Colorado, we didnt eat all day so we could eat at this famous place, some of the orders were delayed, the food had no taste, bad service, had to wait a long time to get water. And of all of us, 2 of 9 got food poisoning!! Big mistake, never again and we had to still be on the road for another 9 hours!! Not worth what we paid!!
