It s a beautiful place. I road my mountain bike there and the trails were really hard to follow. But it was my first time there, good ride overall. The cemetery is worth a visit, tombstones from over 100 years ago.

Its literally a gem in the neighborhood hood. Its one of my favorites, throughout the year, going to walk, running, or bicycling. You will love it, however, could be challenging if youre not an expert or used to bicycle on trails. In summer l, I recommend going early in the morning at the dawn or later before sunset. In autumn or winter, anytime after sun rises, give a little bit time if you dont like cold weather. There is a creek flowing in the middle. The water flow is low, but if you go after rain, its perfect condition. Be mindful of the other living creatures in the area. There are signs telling who lives there, taking some moments to get familiar, and acting accordingly Picnic area: There is a picnic area at the beginning. However, Murphy Central Park is connected and great for anything you can think of

Great spot. We decided to move to this part of Texas because of this spot. Beautiful trees, creek, playground, paved trail, bridges, trash cans, large grass field, large parking areas...its great. The kids love exploring. Mosquitoes are prevelent right now so be cautious.

We enjoyed our walk at Maxwell Creek. We parked near the high school stadium right near the gazebo. We crossed the bridge and walked along the concrete Maxwell Creek trail. We also explored the natural trails. Well maintained and the creek was clean too.

After being stuck inside all week we decided to go find a new walking trail. I thought it was going to be all concrete sidewalks but was surprised to find there was dirt paths too. The concrete sidewalk had mile markers for running or biking and a cute playground that is being updated. It reminded me of a tree fort type feel. Then we took a dirt path down to the creek. I thought it would just take us to the water and end. Instead we found miles of paths weaving in and out of trees and all around the creek with surprise bridges and lots of steep hills to run up and down making for quite an adventure.

There are a combination of paved paths with informational signs and dirt paths that lead through the woods and along the stream. The area is beautiful with something for everyone! There are playgrounds, a picnic area, and lots of lovely views. I highly recommend to anyone looking for some quality time outdoors!

This park features a short, or long if you want, shaded trail that is either concrete or packed gravel. Trail is interesting and potentially short enough for young kids. Shaded is important in summer heat.

Not a trail for long distance runners. It goes about 1 mile each way and does not circle back around. Super nice and clean trail though. Also, one side of the trail is all houses the other side of the path is the perserve so if you are looking to be surrounded by just woods and wildlife, this is the trail.

I come here primarily to film YouTube videos, and I Love it because there is a large variety of terrains in a small area. There are a lot of side paths and cut-throughs to enjoy, and lots of hidden nooks of beauty. It may just be because of winter and heavy rains, but wildlife activity seems pretty low (could also be the large amount of dogs that get walked here). All told: great spot of nature in the middle of suburbia!

Wow! What an amazing Cemetary we ran across when we went on a small hike here. Several CONFEDERATE soldiers buried here. Last burial was back in 1966. Lots of babies and children buried here too, most people were 50 years or less except for one old timer who survived through the Civil wat and almost saw 100. One of the kewlest cemeteries I ve ever seen!

The preserve has a large gazebo with picnic tables, a baseball practice field, small basketball and walking trails. You can walk from Murphy Central Park to here and continue on to Maxwell Creek Playground. It is a great place for family picnics and getting out to enjoy the nice weather. And for you Pokemon Go fans out there, like my son, there are 13 Pokestops and 3 Gyms along the trail. :-) You can also get to the preserve by driving and parking behind Kimbrough Stadium.

A genuine nature experience without leaving the city! The creek trail lets you escape to your own world of trees, water, flowers and butterflies, and goes on for a tremendous distance. Informational signs on the more civilized trail teach you about the ecology and history of the area.
