The bartender was quick and attentive. She waited until I was ready and took my order. I ordered my food to go to take home and enjoy. When I got home I opened my bag to find that between the kitchen and the bar top my order was incorrect. I was very disappointed. The receipt was correct on the order but the food was still wrong. I live 30 mins from town and can t exactly go back and get the correct food. Their food has been decent every other time I have been. Warning:check your bag.

The time it took to get 2 tacos, I could make them myself faster... if it was busy I could understand, but there was only 2 other customers in there besides me. The fried chicken taco was slightly undercooked. Both tacos for as long as they took were not hot, slightly on the cool side. Its sad to say that the Diet Dr. Pepper was the only thing I really liked lol. Will I be coming back. Definitely NOT. SORRY BUT NOT SORRY. Parking: Is part of a shopping complex

This location is a significant downgrade from what I have come to expect from Torchys. First of all, the wait to get any of our food was about 30 mins. At our home location this would normally be less than 10 mins even at peak hours. Second, the food portions was smaller than expected. At our home location the tacos are much fuller. Also the queso didnt taste as good for some reason. Lastly, the staff did not seem very experienced and seemed rushed which I get since it was peak lunch time but at our home location it seems to be a much more smooth operation. Overall, a major disappointment from this location compared to our home location which we like very much.

Inconsistent. Sometimes the portions will be larger, and the chips great. Other times the portions will be tiny, and chips stale or rubbery. Most my bad quality experiences with food has been to go orders. The quality seems worse with to go orders, and multiple times I have had limes, sauce missing, food cold, or pick up time not matching the app timer. Pick up times being incorrect has made come here on lunch difficult. TLDR: Your experience will vary from great to bad. Dine in seems consistently better for whatever reason. Edit: Reducing from 3 to 2 stars. While the food is good and is the only reason I continue coming I have continued to have issues with take out, and poor customer service when there is an issue with my food. Furthermore I have had bad experiences dinning in. Most recently it was hilariously bad how disorganized the service was. Every table pretty much got their order wrong in the dining area, and food kept getting sent back. Update: Dropping to a 1 star. The amount of consistent issues I have here accumulated to 10 occurrences. Yall are almost as bad as Panera Bread of Abilene, and if you know anything about our Panera that is not good.

Tasted good, but I ate there 7-7-24 for lunch and my stomach began hurting shortly after. Ended up vomiting multiple times that afternoon until I was on my knees wretching over the toilet. Also, not a place to go if you have a large appetite, the tacos are $5 each.

I m blown away by service - you were so kind to me and explained everything (first time here)! And the Baja shrimp and fried avocado tacos and half order chips&queso was all extremely delightful. Music playing created a great atmosphere: Black Pumas, Swimmimg Tapes, Weezer, Coldplay, Harry Styles Grapejuice ., Elephanr Castle, Tkay Maidza. This is hands down my favorite place to stop for tacos in Abilene. We dont have one in San Angelo so when we come through town we always stop here. Fast service, food prices with military discount. Lots of variety in tacos they offer. Love that you can get corn or flour tortillas here. Their green and red salsa is spectacular as well. Id get every one of my 4 tacos again in a blink. Super tasty and big!

UPDATE: My first visit was 2 years ago, and nothing had changed. My family and I went here Sunday night as a belated birthday celebration to me. Unfortunately, my vegetarian burrito was messed up and had the fajita beef added to it, and due to medical problems, I couldnt eat it. Im not sure if she was a manager or not, but checked on us, and when I explained what happened, she made me a brand new veggie burrito that was twice the size of my husbands normal one. They take such good care of you here and this has become my familys favorite place to visit in Abilene! A little expensive, but the food quality and portion size make up for it! Vegetarian options: They are able to make a lot of the menu options vegetarian. I highly recommend visiting here!

Food was fine - After a 65 minute wait time! Never should a chain restaurant take 30 minutes to fulfill an order. Several customers gave up and demanded refunds. I have eaten at Torchys in several cities many times. I order from the secret menu and always get the missionary style green chile pulled pork and the chips & queso. When I tell you that todays offering in Abilene did not measure up, I speak from experience. There was only one cashier during the lunch hour rush. It took a long time for my order to arrive, and when it did, the chips & queso came at the same time as the tacos. The corn tortilla in my taco was like chewing tree bark. The chips were so salty (& I like a lot of salt) that even the queso could not dilute them. This is the third time Ive eaten at this location in the last 12 months. The corporate trainers need to revisit this location and retrain everyone from management on down.

Honestly this is the worst Torchys Ive been to. Each time I order online something is either missing or not right or a lot longer than estimated. I dont know how fair my rating of this place would be. I have wanted to go for a long time, and I was disappointed. The food is very tasty, yes, but the service... leaves a lot to be desired, not to mention that a single taco costs at least 5 dollars, I think it is an absurd amount, many, many places serve more and more cheap. I m usually not too much of a harsh critique, but that was not worth the 15 dollars. Food was *mostly* uninspiring, to tell you the truth. Two out of our three meals were also incorrect when received. One was corrected after what came off to me as slight hassle and the other seemed fine. Well, at least until it was bitten into and behold! No added meat that was paid for. This was our first experience and I don t personally understand the hype. That matters A LOT, make every experience a good first impression even if it s not. With that being said, employees should be more welcoming and attentive to customers. No hellos, or even heys, and not even a prompt when customers were centered straight in front of the register. Although, the cashier was friendly when interacted with. That and the sodas were good and the station was clean, so thumbs up on that. But, at least a hey welcome to torchys? Something? Anything is better than dead silence and even then standards should be set higher than that. To make a long story shorter, all I m really asking is where is y all s gusto? Don t take this personally, I don t mind paying almost six dollars for a damn good taco if it s a damn good taco. Unfortunately, my overall experience was damn good disappointing.

I love Torchys! We used to drive to ft worth just to eat there, we were ecstatic when the Abilene location opened. Its our go to spot when we are in town or special occasions. The service here is horrible! The only thing that has any semblance of speed is the bartenders, and even they are quite slow. If you dine in, you have a good chance of having to wait 10 minutes or longer just to place an order. If you dine in or pick up, the wait will easily be 45 minutes or longer when they are busy. It is honestly not worth your time to go here when you see a full parking lot. The food is actually not too bad, if you can wait that long for it. Recommend only trying this place during a slow period. Otherwise you are in for a bad time

As always the green chili queso was great. We added the chorizo in it this time and it adds an nice flavor. Chips were cold and a bit stale but ok. My wife really enjoyed the Tequila Sunrise on the Happy Hour menu. She said it was the best she ever had. We asked for the hidden menu that included a few different tacos. I forgot to take photos of them but I got the Coconut Shrimp Taco. It was ok, the breading on the shrimp was overly thick and over seasoned so we have to pick it off to eat it. Wife went with the pork carnitas and she likes it. Overall good visit but nothing special.

Unfortunately it wasn t the best. Customer service was mediocre. No one greeted just looked at me like they were annoyed I walked in. The food was ok, My chips were cold. The one in Lubbock was great! Everything came out hot and yummy. The customer service was great. I was hoping for the same Environment, I don t think I ll be coming back to this location.

Got a lot of food as it was 3 grandchildren, 2 parents, and 2 grandparents, plus 4 dogs but thats an entirely different review. They have some spicy s#&t here that the parents and grandma was raving about, grandpa not so much. Basic burrito for grandpa as Im a lightweight when it comes to spicy. Anyway, burrito was damn near perfect, just the right mix of meat, bean, rice, cilantro and nothing spicy. Needless to say, with the exception of a small half bag of chips, everything was gone, even the two year old finished his and he does finish anything. Well, anything not sweet. From California to the Carolinas we have tried tacos and burritos and Torchys is easy in the top 10 and thats in quality, quantity and price. You only have to try it once to find out, but then it will on your top 10 list...

Usually I have nothing but good things to say about torchy s but the last time I went there and the person in the front (some girl with short red hair) was very rude and I had a to go order, so did my friend who came along. She gave him his order but not me And my food was cold by the time I went home. I just did a DoorDash order tonight of 09/24 and the order was correct but EVERYTHING was so salty I couldn t finish my food. They only gave us one sauce, which my food items were supposed to come with a chipotle ranch sauce and we got 1 tomatillo sauce for our 4 burritos. As we did last time as well. Very disappointed.

We drive an hour and a half from another city just to eat Torchy s because it s so dang good. Great experience every time. My only complaint is that the place is freezing cold, so bring a jacket unless you feel like sitting outside. Otherwise, the food is great with good customer service. Nice, clean restaurant.
