Got there 5 minutes before closing and they refused to serve us. Saw them just standing there in the interior not doing anything just waiting for the store to close. Was really hoping to try the ice cream there for the first time and especially after a hard day of work to enjoy something sweet but this honestly was a real smack in the face.

My rolls had pet hair in them. Multiple pieces. It was missing the espresso and the cookie. After making our rolls the entire staff disappeared to the back and we never saw them again .this was my first experience at this location and I won t be back. I prefer the original location.

Ive never been to a rolled ice cream place before and I wasnt let down at Roll Shack Downtown. The vibe was very laid back, the atmosphere is light with some funny animal portraits on the wall. Seeing them physically make the ice cream was also very cool. Ice cream was really good as well. No complaints thoroughly enjoyed it, Id recommend walking next door to the upstair seating and just enjoying the moment.

We love roll shack, the ice cream and crepes are delicious. My only complaint is that there are no high chairs available. Having one or two high chairs available would make this a much more family friendly place for people with littles who aren t quite old enough to sit in chairs by themselves. We will definitely be back regardless.

We went here because the advertising looked beautifully presented for the crepes. There was filling, and was presented on a wooden board. We were served raw crepe that had no filling and was soaked with whipped cream on a paper plate. If I wanted to make a DIY crepe at home this is probably how it would ve turned out. I wish I would ve taken a picture of how misleading the crepes are. Other than that the ice cream was good. Just don t have high hopes for the crepes when coming here.

This is novelty ice cream and you should take it as such. It was yummy ice cream but I wouldn t say mind blowing. It was for sure fun to take the kiddos to and we will go back on special occasions.

Good crepes. Good atmosphere. Very nice and funny owner. They should make several crepes at the same time so as a couple we could eat at the same time. But we will go back to try the ice creams too. Update: the next day: we tried the rolled ice cream. Interesting to watch how it s made. The two girls were extremely polite and made a huge effort by trying to spell our name right. They were also very attentive and asked about food allergies since I got the dairy free. Really appreciated and felt that they really cared about their customers. We really liked our rolled ice cream. Thanks

I dont care what these 1 stars are saying today i went into this shop with me and my husband we are newly weds and the owner himself was there and we just had a blast it was our first time in there and it wont be our last. He talked to us for dang near an hour about life and his works and passions and how everything is made. We talked about our childhoods/future endeavors even after we had already finished our ice cream he still talked to us. The ice cream was absolutely amazing and smooth with rich flavor in just the ice cream alone u dont even need topping but once u do add topings !!WOW!! we even learned that all the ice cream names are named after his dogs/Horses we had a fantastic time just talking about the most random things and i would deff drive the almost 30 minutes just to go see them again we lived you guys so much. Vegetarian options: They have dairy free options for only 1.50 more and work with you on all u want

The crepes were delicious and fresh. I got the king size, which comes with 2 Mexican vanilla ice cream rolls that were amazing. The ice cream rolls reminded me of homemade hand churned ice cream flavor.

Few things. When half of your menu is crepes but you are not serving crepes because the machine is off today you should probably post that somewhere. Maybe on the front door. Im not sure what it means either by the machine is off today? To me that says our machine is working but we dont want to turn it on. I waited in a long line to order crepes, and no where was it posted that they werent serving crepes. Next, the workers seemed way in over their heads. Really young teenagers who were a bit rude with their customer service. Also, the kid on the register said it was going to be a 45 minute wait. I have never seen that long of a wait for ice cream. Hard to believe the wait should be that long, especially when you arent serving half of your menu. I couldnt tell you if the product is actually good or not. It looks good on pictures. Wish I could have tried it.

Stopped in while shopping downtown. Jerry and the team made us some amazingly interesting ice cream treats. Two of us had the dairy free base made from coconut and loved it. He then spent time story telling about the Elvis themed bathroom and where the names of the treats came from. Stop in and ask him!

My family and I normally LOVE roll shack. We only go sometimes due to how pricey it is, but tonight was the worst ever. They had three teenagers working the counter and when we walked in the first thing they did was look scared that a customer had actually showed up. Gave them our order while they wouldnt even look at us, she left and started making our order, I ordered the Zoe King and they completely forgot the vanilla icing and the chocolate sauce on top. After they handed us the ice cream I had to stop them and say hey we still need to pay and they looked at us wide eyed and were like umm you havent paid??? I swear these kids were high on something. All I can say is hire better, responsible people or really work on training in customer service, or even have an adult working there to help these timid kids. For the price we pay for this ice cream it was not worth it. I know it can be better because it has been. I dont think well be going back anymore if this doesnt change.

Visited Abilene on a Saturday and decided to try this place out. So glad that we did! The customer service was superb! The place was clean, no sticky tables or chairs like you usually get at ice cream shops. We both got ice cream and both were SO GOOD. We will definitely be back with friends and family!

Don t get their savory crepes!! I got the Chester savory crepe which I thought would come different, it was basically deli meat with melted cheese and cut up tomatoes. Definitely not worth $10, I guess it was my fault for expecting more for the price

Highly recommend! We love going to the Roll Shack! It s the best ice cream in Abilene and a really neat process to watch. The mouth feel of this ice cream is truly unique melt-in-your-mouth experience compared to scooped ice cream!

We came in during slow time and this guy was intentionally making a ridiculous amount of noise chopping ice cream, like he was literally trying to break something. I guess he likes being the center of attention. Nobody could hear each other speaking.

This is my first time at this location and its consistent with the other Abilene location which is amazing! I havent tried all of the flavors but Ive never been disappointed with any of the ones Ive tried. The Patrick is my favorite one so far

Our second attempt at Roll shack. The first time we tried it was an hour wait and the next time was 30 minutes (10 minutes before closing). I m not sure what the solution is but we won t be back.

Really good crepes and ice cream, fair prices... awful foot traffic storefront visibility. Dark sign, blacked out windows.. I think this place misses out on random foot traffic. Needs to improve signage and visibility. Neon roll shack sign isnt quite an obvious sign for whats inside for out of towners.
