My family and I had such a wonderful time at this ranch. The landscape was breathtaking from the little gardens of vegetables and flowers to the beautiful horses, cattle and deer that we got to see. We went to the top and was able to see the entire ranch. We spent the day on the river which was an easy walk down from the ranch. We picked up some shirts and preserves that they have made for from the produce there. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We will definitely book with the Montesino Ranch again. Cant wait for another great weekend at this location.

First of all, Montesino Ranch is a beautiful and huge property close to Wimberley. When I ran into trouble finding a venue for my concert series, they found me and offered their cool restored barn as a solution. Their foreman, Pam and the owners have been helpful and cooperative. I love this place! Let the music begin!!

I cannot say enough good things about Montesino and Pam! I work as a vendor on the property and have had nothing but amazing experiences. Pam is always more than accommodating and beyond gracious. The property is beyond STUNNING! As a guest, Ive adventured around and loved every moment. The accommodations are always well maintained and welcoming. Montesino feels like a home away from home! I HIGH recommend it to any client or friend, whatever the occasion!

I am a little late in writing this review as my daughter and son in law were married there in November last year. The weather turned out perfect, just like Pam said it would. Everyone that works there is so kind and helpful. The wedding party stayed on premises for the whole weekend and we could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. Everyone had plenty of room to move around and do whatever they enjoyed. It truly is a very magical place.

We just went horse riding with this company. The lady that took us was very friendly and informative and gave us a lesson before setting out on the beautiful trails around this valley.

Montesino ranch was everything I couldve dreamed of for my wedding day. We had a perfect weather day, we took so many beautiful pictures in the hill country, and we really enjoyed the opportunity to bring in our own vendors. Everyone that works there is so kind and helpful. The set up is perfect! We had snacks and live music inside the barn, our dining tables outside, we brought outdoor games for guest, and they had a fire pit outdoors. Everyone had plenty of room to move around and do whatever they enjoyed. We stayed at the Airbnbs on the property which was wonderful - I definitely plan on going back for anniversaries/special occasions to stay on the property and soak up where our special day took place.

This was such a lovely relaxing trip for our family of 3. The cabins are perfect with all of the thoughtful touches. The property is absolutely beautiful- hiking, swimming and relaxing all in a day. We will definitely be back!

We held my daughters wedding there just a few weeks ago, like others have stated the venue is absolutely breathtaking; however, the management (Pam) is terrible to work with, extremely unprofessional, disrespectful to the bride & groom, harassing the bride with nonsense when she could have left the bride alone to enjoy being freshly married. When my daughter & son in law went to book the venue Pam was laid back, nice & welcoming; however, that changed once she received our money. Upon arrival not once did Pam come to greet us, make sure we got into the accommodation or to ensure we knew where to place all the food to be stored over night etc. The venue is in the middle of nowhere out in the hill county, yet the venue does not have a means for you to access ice, if you need ice you most drive down into Wimberly to get some, as you can imagine in the Texas heat the ice didn t last long and melted in its way back to the venue. The day of the wedding there was a lady hanging around the reception, not once did she introduce herself to me , the brides mom, the one paying the bill. The next day I found out the lady was Pam s daughter, at the end of the reception the daughter was helping me pic of trash, I asked if I needed to recycle some bottles she said, no it wasn t a big deal- myself and the wedding coordinator asked her multiple times if it was ok to leave the tables and chairs out and pick them up in the morning, she said no problem. We asked her if there was anything else we needed to do before calling it a night & she said no we were good- she also stated you don t have to have the reception area cleaned up by 11am, just need to be out of the rooms by 11 for housekeeping & that we could clean the reception area throughout the day. The next morning my daughter and the coordinator began receiving RUDEmessages from Pam, scolding us for not picking up the tables, claiming we were lucky they did not receive any damage from the dew, telling us there is a checklist sheet we were supposed to fall but HER daughter failed to give it to us, she also had the nerve to say we needed to SORT THE TRASH I m sorry but if that was something you wanted done you should have let it be known PRIOR to booking that we would need to be very specific on where to throw things away. Extremely disappointing! I can t deny it s breathtaking & my daughter will have beautiful pictures;however, I would never recommend the place, it is quite costly, and I will caution all those I know getting married in the future to not be deceived by this venues management.

The venue is just beautiful. I enjoyed the view, location, and environment. However, the lady in charge (Pam) is very condescending and passive aggressive. McKenzie was so sweet but following orders she had to rush us to finish our duties. Its in the middle of nowhere and I do not know why they are sticklers to their ways. No kind of accommodations are available. I did not enjoy interacting with them overall as I felt rushed and they just came off as entitled/unprofessional. They speak negatively about people instead or reaching out to them directly. They have a belief of they host weddings, not parties/celebrations and are unaware of cultural differences. Pam is adamant about receiving a list for EVERY single detail such as when the bride/groom is getting ready and when everything happens when they werent present the entire time to SUPPORT the event. Thats the job of the coordinator. For the price overall of the venue/limits and the amenities and accommodations, this place is overpriced.

We stayed in a studio at Montesino Ranch and it was perfect for two people. The place had a comfortable bed, an excellent bathroom, and a spacious kitchen area. We booked because of the access to the river (a short 10 min walk) and it did not disappoint! I wish we had more time to explore the trails. If youre looking for a quiet stay closer to nature, I recommend it!

My first two stays here were perfect! Peaceful farm Fresh eggs in the morning Organic veggies tasted great Views on the hike were amazing Most of all everyone involved in bookings provides excellent customer service. Unfortunately, I could not make it to my most recent booking due to a car accident, and they were understanding and made arrangements. If there are any questions or concerns they provide prompt service. This really shows that they care about their guest. I have recommended this place to several friends and they also enjoyed their time.

While undoubtedly a beautiful place, I caution families with pets. The listing states that it s dog friendly up to two but I cannot see how that makes sense given the caustic way we were treated. Our dog is well traveled and stayed at 5 star hotels and resorts such as the Four Seasons and Hotel Zaza and numerous other vacation rentals. At the Four Seasons she even had extended stays and was loved and welcomed back. She s well behaved, stayed with us on leash the whole time and followed all their clearly stated rules. Rules don t bother us, actually we welcome them, because they set a framework for expectation and we happily follow. The listing also stated they had a fenced yard for her to run around, however, it turned out not to be secure and we were asked at the last minute not to let her run free in the yard. Though a yard is always part of the decision when renting a pet friendly home, we kindly accepted that, and didn t even mention it in our review of the place because we truly enjoyed our stay. It was nice to see my son splash and swim in the clear water while melting our coronavirus stress away. In fact we wrote a beautiful review on AirBnb. The owner s response to our compliments were to call us out publicly for something we didn t do and which could have been cleared up privately (my guess is there was miscommunication with their housekeeping- we re truly bewildered). Either way, paying $175 for cleaning + pet fee then to be bashed for dog hair feels unjust and unkind. I frequently cleaned throughout our 5 day stay including sweeping (which we were happy to find a broom and swifter as some rentals have those locked away) and not sure how we could have been any better guests. We went above and beyond to be contentious guests and thought we found a place to go back to with family and friends. Truly saddened and disappointed by our experience post trip.
