Stopped in there with a group of twenty hungry hunters just getting in from the field. They were able to seat us and serve us all quickly. I ordered the chicken nachos with jalapenos and I can say I never had nachos with so much meat and peppers on them in my life.

Beans and rice tasted burnt, the guac tasted old over-ripe and was a shade of brown, the tortillas are store bought and smelled like chemicals, blaaagh!! Even HEB, Krogers, Sams or Costco has tortillas more authentic than this authentic Mexican joint!! One time for me and thats it!!

The service is average now. Notably since Consuela is gone. Refuse to sit in the bar area. Its loud and at times over stimulating. They had loud music on, and then two of the guys at bar wanted sound on for soccer game. They obliged and turned it up louder than the music. We couldnt eat fast enough. Food was great. Just will not sit in that area again, it always ruins the experience. Previous Review: First time at this location of El Tapatio. Wasnt a fan of the SWPky location the few times we had gone. The location on central freeway is outstanding!!! I had the Pollo AL Chipotle.... and it was freaking phenomenal. Weve been going out of town to find good Mexican food...no need its just down the road. Service was great and was not as loud and crowded as other location. We will be back...soon!! Good came fast. In less than five minutes was served. You could expect that in a fast food restaurant but not in a place where you order from a menu. The guacamole was already rotten and we had to return it. They gave us fresh avocado. The rest of the plates tasted good. That is why I gave them 3 stars. Parking: Parking was easy.

This is by far the worst place I have eaten in Wichita Falls. The beans were sour and had no seasoning. The tacos tasted burnt and the pico tasted bad. The tea was hose water. The only good thing about this place was the salsa and chips. How they got voted best in 2022 is beside me. FIX THE FOOD.

I got the Fajita Quesadilla and it was very tasty, although a little greasy. The portions were pretty large. I had to split mine into two meals. I found the chips were not warm, but we did show up at 9pm. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Ill give them a 4 out of 5 stars.

Chips tasted like they had been fried and then fried again, super greasy. Beef tacos had no flavor and the shells were stale. Beef enchiladas had no flavor and what ever red sauce they used tasted like chef Boyardee. Not good at all. Front windows were broke out. Had to fight the flys as well.

I used to love this place. I spent 2 hours here, often 30+ minutes between the waiter coming to our table. They had our waiter working the bar and tables. Our orders were wrong, and came out cold. Our waiter never took plates and we had to carry our cluttered dishes to a different table. Disappointed and never coming here again. The service was the worst I ve ever seen

Omgosh, the food was EXCELLENT! Served extra hot, chips and salsa were good, sweet tea was delish! Service was great too!! Its always nice when youre traveling and happen to pick an excellent place!! This was my second time trying this place and the meal I had was very good! It was cooked to my specifications and it was a very nice portion. Its hit or miss whether or not youre going to get good service or not. I have been multiple times and have had service that is bad and service that is spot on. Food is usually spot on but if you ask for anything, you need to be prepared to wait for a while before they bring it or not get it at all.

After trying a different restaurant in the other side of town by the same name I was skeptical, as the food there was terrible! I was very pleased to find that the food here was not only better, it was delicious! We absolutely loved the food and the service was top notch. Highly recommend this establishment. Tapatio #1 is my bfs fav place to eat....But they charge for EACH soda refill, and I did not know this :( I dont regularly get a soda with my meals so I was shocked when we got the ticket. I paid more for refilling my soda ONCE than I would of if I had bought a beer. I have no idea if they charge for tea refills ?!? Service was good, atmosphere great, food delish n authentica! But BOOO on the upcharge!!!! Vegetarian options: Spicy guacamole is a must! Salads and soups also available

We were in Wichita Falls recently and ended up eating here. It was pretty good -- good enough that we came back a 2nd time. Its your basic beans&rice smash Mexican with the normal dishes like enchiladas, rellenos, etc. Nothing special but also done just fine. Best tip: ask for the spicy salsas -- theyve got 2 different ones they only serve on request. Cranked the whole food experience up a level or two. For vegetarians: normal Mexican choices. I suspect the beans had lard and the rice had chicken stock, but if so, it wasnt particularly obvious. I was happy eating them.

The salsa is pretty spot on but if you add a little salt and pepper, Its over the top! The spicy shrimp was delicious! Hailey (my server) looked just as delicious She was quick on her feet because I go through salsa like its water. She almost kept up. All in all, pretty good place. Good food and good service. Omg so good! It s hard to find a place that has solid everything! Salsa was fresh. Service was super friendly & quick. Our food came out fast too! We ordered carnitas tacos (the pork had great flavor & texture), cheese enchilada, and chicken enchilada. The rice was moist. The only thing I d say was a negative was that 1/4 of the chips were chewy/hard. Tres leches was 7/10! But overall fantastic food!

We absolutely love this restaurant. It is by far the best in town. We love the green sauce and pork chili Verde. Staff is excellent. Had a wedding party lunch here of 16 people and Erica was amazing. Didnt even write our orders down and everything came out correctly. Very accommodating. Salsa is always fresh. We enjoy it very much. And take out orders are always piled high.

They have a veggie section of menu and they could not handle beans on our food. Then only refried beans. It was gross. The food was cold and the tostada was floppy. It had obviously sat there for awhile before our waiter brought it to us. A friendly woman came and got it and took it back to the kitchen. All they did was scrape the tostada off the plate and reapply it to a fresh tostada shell. THE REST OF THE FOOD WAS STILL COLD!!!! The chips were stale too. Completely disappointing. I even told them the food was inedible. Was still charged. I WONT BE BACK.

Not much to look at, and even deterred me initially from going in, but upon recommendation I pressed on. I m so glad I did. I ve eaten here three times in the last two weeks, trying something different each time. I m a fan of this place for sure. It s not terribly quick, but the food is great. I think the fish tacos are my favorite so far. Check them out! Parking: You will definitely have a space available to park.

Was my first time here.. The food was not my favorite.. BUT I was told previously it pretty good. So maybe just something I ordered! As far as cleanliness goes, very clean! Atmosphere was great, and or food and drinks were out in a timely matter! Food

Food was hot & fresh. Service is friendly & quick. Enchiladas were delicious & sweet tea great. They serve a tastee white queso & chips. Reasonable prices. Kid-friendliness: Mac n cheese. Quesadilla Enchiladas

We always enjoy going to el tapatío. Their food and service is always good, and their sweet tea is always mixed just right. We prefer this restaurant versus any other when we want Mexican food.
