Ordered two chopped brisket sandwiches today for lunch, really wish I hadnt. Service was great. Ordered over the phone, and food was brought out withing five minute. The food however was HORRIBLE. The Chopped Brisket was more like pureed. It was completely mush and didnt resemble chopped brisket at all. And for some reason they have either switched to a mustard based sauce, or they put a ton of mustard on our sandwiches. Either way, the sandwiches were inedible. We ended up putting them in the trash and getting fast food. Almost $18 for 2 sandwiches just to put them in the trash. Prines was pretty good when I went last year, my guess would be that they have a new owner who decided to make it their own and changed everything. Either way, save your money and go somewhere else.

This is likely the worst BBQ I have had in the 21st century. Prine s used to serve outstanding BBQ. Not anymore. First and foremost, you have to order from your car. You find that out when you walk up to the front door where the menu is posted. Unless you are graced with clairvoyance you will need to order from the front door. In the heat. Or the cold, take your pick. Lazy and poor customer service. The meat lacks flavor and the ribs we ordered came with a chunk that was inedible. That I paid for. The sauce was watery and cold. Now let s talk about the beans, potato salad, and cole slaw. You know, the normal sides one gets with a family pack. Well, there are none. Bottom line is that if I had to choose between this BBQ and no BBQ at all, I would choose the latter. It is that bad.

This food is absolutely delicious! Second time we have eaten here. First time we had chopped barbecued beef. HOOKED! Second time we got the potato salad, macaroni salad, Cole slaw, and sauce. My son enjoyed the sausage sandwich! Will be coming here more often!

The first time I didnt order because they dont offer seating. I came by today because I was pressed for time and got quick service. Things were so well packaged that it didnt smell up my car. Even the sauce is taped shut. Since there is no seating, there is zero pressure to tip. There is a nice park @ 815 Scott Ave. in the area with picnic tables if you need a place to sit. Dont forget to ask for plastic utensils if you eat at the park.

This was surprisingly bad. The ribs seemed to have been boiled rather than grilled. No smoke flavor and no delicious bbq sauce. Just some orange juice floating around. The beans were not baked beans, they were ranch beans. The turkey was thickly sliced from a roll, and it was gray in spots. Served on a too-sweet roll rather than yummy homemade bread. The banana pudding was ok, a little sweet, but more importantly it did not have soft wafers throughout, only crunchy wafers on top. Zero pleasure points apart from the pickles and onions. Sorry yall.

The way they smoke their meat is the same way they ve done it for years, can t get that taste of perfected smoked flavorful ham anywhere else. Prines is a hole in the wall on the edge of downtown but houses some of the finest BBQ you will ever have. I have had all their meats and they are all wonderful, but my staple is a brisket sandwich with sauce and small beans. Their beans are more like chili beans and are the best I have ever had. The brisket is tender and they pile it high. I also love the pimento cheese. Makes a great sandwich well.

Little disappointed. Ordered a sliced brisket plate and sliced brisket sandwich and pimento cheese as a side. They ask to put sauce on it probably so they dont have to give cups of sauce. Sauce seemed thin and greasy. Brisket was good not great. On the brisket plate sides were beans and banana pudding. They put all 3 in styrofoam container probably to save cost of an extra cup. Bean flavor banana pudding is not a trend I see being successful. I thought about the smoked bologna sandwich glad I didnt try it saw someone take bologna from walk in and cut it. Then put rest back in walk in, I can buy smoked bologna at united. Nothing stood out as I need to have this again. Not super convenient pick up only they may have a following but I dont see why.

I ordered a 3 meat plate, I asked for Ham, Brisket, and sausage. Well instead of ham they put Ribs, and I got beans and banana pudding as my sides and instead of putting the pudding in a separate container they put with the bbq sauce and it all just soaked into the pudding. Stopped by the visitors center to explore and the guys there recommended this place when I asked them where to get some good BBQ. Totally nondescript plain-looking facade that makes you think maybe you have the wrong place or address...but once inside, the smells overwhelm the senses and you know you have discovered BBQ Utopia. My Friend and I got sandwiches. He got sliced beef which was very flavorful and tasty and I got a hot link sandwich. I really enjoyed the hot links, with an emphasis on hot meaning spicy. They fix it, bag it and send it with you. We also purchased a pint of (mashed potato) which was ok with me, but prefer potato salad where you can tell its got potatoes in it, like my mom used to make. Overall, the meats were very tasty and reasonably priced for authentic Texas barbecue from one of the oldest barbecue places in Texas. Be warned, this is not a sit down restaurant.

Literally just left there 10 minutes ago and dug right in! Its melt in your mouth brisket. Ive never been here before but always smells so good driving by. Putting their flyer up at my job
