Dont Hire Them I dont have words to explain the terrible service they give in this office, they promised to fix my problem and the only thing they did was ask for money and more money, they have no idea of the amounts they asked for in less than a year they finished with my money and I had to change lawyers because after my account was in seros and how they saw that there was no more money they simply told me well if you want we can withdraw from the case and I asked what they had really done and They said they answered emails from the opposing lawyer I feel cheated, humiliated and disappointed In my life I want to know nothing about them

My rating reflects my experience with the Tax and Accounting side of this business. I cannot speak to the legal side of the house, but after my experience with the Tax and Accounting side. However, I will pursue other firms to address my business legal matters based on this experience. When using this Simplified Business Solutions I had two issues: 1) Communication and 2) Level of Service. I had four years of tax returns that I needed to file for business and personal which was clearly express in my intake process with the firm. I initially gave my information to the firm in August. I did not get the finished product ready to be sent off until January 2024 (5 months later). The office overall didn t communicate or follow-up well. I was told several times that the tax preparer would only contact me if they need something even though at the time there was nobody assigned. Documents like W-2s were missing and I was never contacted despite attempts to follow-up. Lack of communication between the tax preparer, Carey Stringer and I regarding needed documentation caused delays and four revisions of the tax returns. It was only in face-to-face meetings with the firm to review the returns were appropriate questions asked and given answers. I asked for follow-up calls and only got emailed responses. Eventually, I had to take matters into my own hands and prepare a summary of all the financials into a table format the tax preparer was willing to accept because they were unwilling to go through all of the documentation I provided and develop it themselves. I was just savvy enough that we were able to reduce my tax liability from 10s of thousand to only a few thousand. Ultimately, I ended up having six in-person meetings with the firm and four revisions to my tax returns before being able to reduce my tax liability. In my fifth meeting I arrived to find that the office was closed for the day due to inclement weather, but nobody from the firm ever contacted me to reschedule our meeting. I personally had to put in a lot more work than expected. I can only imagine the outcomes for those who did not have my financial background, skill set, and willingness to do whatever it took to get the best outcome for myself. Due to the effort I had to put into the process, I believed I was justified in negotiating the overall fee. I was given a very hard time when trying to negotiate the fee on 8 tax returns because they stated they had already loss money with the amount of time it had taken to complete the returns. Kevin McDonnell took a very hardline approach with me in our discussions several times. We eventually reached a settlement, but I will not be using the firm again.

It wont allow me to make a comment without at least one star but they dont deserve any kudos. This company did not take care of my business. I ended up paying thousands in penalties due to their oversight on my franchise tax. I repeatedly asked them to help me and I received no assistance at all. I am now with a different CPA who has been very helpful.

I cannot say enough GREAT things about Kevin and his law firm. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a strong passion for the law. I had an employer/employee dispute (me, being the employee) and we were up against a big, fancy law firm in Ft. Worth. Kevin did not back down, he is confident about his knowledge, competitive, and aggressive. He also cares about his clients, their wellbeing and how the outcome will effect them. Kevin always responded to my emails within the day and if my questions required a better explanation he picked up the phone and called me. If you want someone in your corner that will fight for your best interest call Kevin. WE WON our case thanks to him!!

Excellent tax and litigation law firm. Kevin is a hoot to work with as are the entire staff. As for the troll that left a one star review, why would you go to a law firm that deals in tax litigation for a traffic citation ? It makes no sense. Also, because of the COVID-19 issue, the office staff is having to work from home along with the fact that the courts are closed. Adjudication of a traffic citation needs to be dealt with by taking the online traffic school. It costs less. If on the other hand, your issue is drug or alcohol related then that option is off the table.

This place only gets one star because it was required to write a review. Let me say that i have spoke to maybe 2 pleasant ladies from their office. I thought from reading the reviews that this would be a good place to get my traffic matter handled. I thought wrong. I contacted them in February through my legal plan, and explained the issue, in which they stated they may be able to take care of it. I filled out the necessary paperwork, and waited for results. I waited about a week and called for an update, as i never received any information as to who my attorney would be or if the matter could even for sure be taken care of. I was given the name of someone else to speak to, and this started the cycle of endless excuses. Anytime i called whether it was 9 am or 4 pm, whoever i needed to speak to would always be at lunch or on a call. When i finally spoke to someone a month later i was told that they had not made contact with the court which was funny because here i am 5 states away and the court answered every call and email i sent. I decided at that point to go with a different attorney since i need my license reinstated, and this firm doesnt really seem to have any urgency in the matter. i located a different attorney, who agreed to take the case, and emailed their staff to inform them that i no longer needed their services. The new attorney contacted me today to tell me that she could not do anything on the case because there was already an attorney listed on the case, which is funny because i was told by this firm that they couldnt get in contact with anyone from the court. I immediately call the firm to find out what was going on since i remember sending the email specifically stating that their services were no longer needed, but of course i was told that they were busy and someone would call me back. Fast forward 5 hours i have had enough with this firm and their bs so i contact my legal plan to see what i could do to remove them from my case. Im guessing they contacted the firm because i get a message back from my plan stating that Mcdonnell would like me to call. I do and he rudely answers the phone with yeah i proceed to ask him about the case in which he informs me of a court date in may that i have no knowledge of. I tell him that no one has told me about this court date and he states they have called and emailed me which is a lie i check my email hourly, and i would have definitely responded to something regarding my drivers license. I explain to him that i cant wait until may to rectify the situation and that i want the other lawyer i chose to represent me and that i need a letter stating that they are no longer representing me. He states that i dont, i try to explain to him that i have spoken to an employee at the courthouse and that is what they are requesting and he proceeds to raise his voice and tell me thats not how it works. I then speak to the other attorney Coates and explain to him that i need him to send over a document since they wont send the letter stating they arent representing me he states i thought you hired another attorney i them explain to him that i need the letter stating they are not representing me and he too begins to argue with me telling me i dont. I mean im pretty sure the people that work there know what i need. Now i cant do anything with my case because they refuse to send the letter, but want to send an email to my new attorney. Terrible terrible place. Worst mistake of my life thus far

McDonnell Coates has helped me restructure my business over the past year with the formation of a new entity and documents to expand and bring in a partner. Took them over 2 years to respond to the fact that they had sent my address to my abusive ex husband....they knew I was in a dangerous situation and told me that my address would not be on the copy of the divorce my ex would get...we even hand wrote it on the paper after he signed it so that he would NOT see my address when he signed the document. I had to move and break my lease because he knew where I was and made sure I knew. Aug of 2015 is when I first emailed them about the situation and I finally got a call/email yesterday Dec 13, 2017. So...if you want a lawyer that does what they say they will and returns correspondence in a timely fashion...dont use this place...And even more important....if you are in a domestic abuse situation - you are not safe to use them...they will not protect your address.

We hired this firm for a termination of parental rights and step parent adoption on October 31, 2016. This firm was provided with the absent parent s photograph, home address, work address, and cell phone number. A year later they had not even served him the termination papers. This firm was slow to answer emails, consistently forgot to cc all parties involved on emails, and refused to give solid answers to questions. What should have been a straight forward case has been made anything but.

Ive worked with other tax attorneys in the past - however, this one is the best by far. Unlike past attorneys Ive worked with, these guys are honest and up front with you. I highly recommend this law firm for anyone trying to realistically resolve a serious tax crisis. Regards Suave
