I havent been here since they were located downtown and they havent missed a beat with their food. We had the two meat plate with ribs and catfish. The greens were good just lacked a little flavor and Im picky on potato salad so I did not try it. They had all of the music from the 90s playing that took me back! It is not an upscale experience, but definitely great for lunch or after church home style cooking.

I was craving for oxtail so I went here coz they have good reviews. Their food is a bit pricey but to my dismay. I found this on my plate. On their sweet yams. Good thing I wasn t able to swallow this. I tried calling their number but no one is answering their phone. Gosh! 19 dollars down the drain!

My son and I stopped in after touring Baylor. The smothered chicken and beef tips were outstanding! The cabbage had a hint of sweetness that was good, but not my preference. The buttermilk pie was absolutely delicious. My son loved the sweet tea, as well. If we are ever near Baylor University again, we will be returning!

This was a wonderful treat for my mom a exceptional dining experience. With all the foods that warm the heart and soul On any given day you can find locals and politicians enjoying this establishment the owner is a wonderful lady who is hands on in her restaurant alongside her partner. She can be found waiting tables taking orders and cleaning up alongside her staff. Shes not too accomplished to where she cant get her hands dirty Parking: There is street parking. You may have to circle the block but once you realize where the restaurant is and how its situated finding parking isnt that difficult. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is accessible by wheelchair. The entry does have a little bit of an incline but it is easily accessible and well worth it.

We had out Christmas party planned for December 10th. Went in more than 3 weeks in advance, spent 30 minutes with owner planning menu, then paid over $400 to get it booked. Showed up to pick it up on December 10th morning and THEY FORGOT ABOUT IT. We had no food for party!! Completely ruined our Christmas plans. We had 16 people coming from 4 different cities. We ended up all meeting at Texas Roadhouse in Sherman Tx. Very, very poor service, not real apologetic, didnt offer anything as an apology, nothing. UNBELIEVABLE

The food used to be pretty good but there is not a consistency with the food. Sometimes its really good and sometimes its not...Also it is very hard to get in touch with anyone here. When I try to call sometimes to find out whats on the menu, I never get an answer and I always get a recording saying that the voice-mail is full. Ive tried on 3 different occasions to contact them just to get the same thing. Another issue that I had was a month or so ago, I drove all the way over there on my hour lunch break and arrived around 11:20am and when I got there, they were not ready to serve. They were still cooking food and putting items out and I was advised that it was going to be about another 20 more minutes or so. Now mind you, the restaurant opens at 11am so they should have been ready to completely serve customers at that time. When you are on an hour lunch break and are driving across town to get lunch, its kinda hard to wait an extra 20 plus minutes to get food when you are relying on the establishment to be open on time. I know that this restaurant has been around for years now, but in order to continue to succeed, please open on time abd be ready to serve by 11am, please have someone that can answer the business phones to answer questions and to take call in orders. I will continue to try to support this establishment, I just hope that they take suggestions from these reviews.

Authentic southern food here - nothing more, nothing less. Service is friendly and fast with casual cafeteria style dining. Food was delicious. So happy with all of the veggies - cornbread dressing, stewed okra, collard greens, and black eyed peas to name a few. We tried chicken fried steak and baked chicken for meat choices, both good. The buttermilk pie was also clearly homemade with a devious crust. Parking: Parking is right up front of this small establishment.

WOW! Southern cooking done SO right! We went as a big group, a buffet style lunch with the tastiest food. Everythinf was packed with flavor, fried chicken was so crunchy and salty, okra and sausage was packed with smoky flavor, smothered pork chops were fantastic, beef neck was savory. Not all-you-can-eat, but a 2 meat portion will be all you can hold. Staff was super friendly and we were blown away by the meal! Bathrooms were not air conditioned, but that was literally the only downside.

Boss lady got the 1 meat, the fried chicken, (all size meat dishes comes with 3 sides), mashed potatoes, stewed cabbage, and squash. They brought us some warm cornbread, and I asked for butter. She handed me a small bowl of melted butter...I think I love her!!! I had the 3 meat, with smoked ribs, baked chicken, and neck bone. Sides were the cabbage, carrots and spinach. The neck bone was my favorite! Had a butter cake and fresh peach cobbler for dessert...very delicious!

This is a secret treasure, a hole in the wall with ridiculously awesome southern comfort food! We were on a road trip and needed to stop in Waco to refuel the vehicle as well as ourselves. We found Sascee s and figured we should give it a try. The food is served cafeteria style; you go up and look at what s being served for the day, and then place your order. They plate your food, you find a seat, and then they come and take your drink order. Our waitress was very friendly and walked us through the process. The gentleman serving the food walked us through our options. I got the two meat plate with smoked ribs and fried chicken. For my sides I got the cabbage, black eyed peas and the red beans. When I found a table, we were quickly served a basket of cornbread. That just made the beans and the peas a whole lot better! The ribs tasted like they had been smoked for two days. The meat literally fell off the bone as it was being plated. The smoke flavor was so rich, no additional sauce was needed. The fried chicken was seriously homestyle. It was a bit saltier than you d find in a restaurant, but it was amazing. We all had flashbacks to our childhood and those Sunday night chicken dinners. Sure enough the black eyed peas were fantastic on the cornbread, second only to the red beans. The cabbage was very good, but I have a killer New Years cabbage recipe; this was a very close second. It is a small place, but the folks are friendly, and the food is southern cooking at its finest. Be sure and make this a stop if you happen to be in the Waco area.

Great hole in the wall for a fix to your soul food cravings. Its not all you can eat but an 11 dollar with get you a meat/rice and 2 fixins. During our visit they had smothered pork chops, beef tips and chicken n dumplings. The pork chops were cooked perfectly, fall off the bone tender but was on the salty side. The beef tips were also good. The corn was sweet and crisp and not soggy and bland typically of these corns. The green beans though were bland. Overall dont let this hole in the wall pass you by on a great place for grandmas cooking.

This place is amazing! 10 out of 10 would recommend. Little mom and pop shop with a small dinning room. The food was amazing and the price was just right. I got the beef neck bones and I would come every day of the week for them. The owner was super nice and inviting. If you are in the area its a must to stop and get food from here.

This place has one of the best Southern comfort food I have ever had! My wife and I both tried the oxtails and they were fall off the bone good. The fried chicken was super juicy and flavorful. The mash and gravy was decadent. The collards were tender and cooked to perfection. Overall, this was a great experience! We went on a Sunday so we recommend you get there early enough so you wont miss out on their food. They run out of food fast! Lastly, dont leave without at least taking some of their desserts to go. You probably wont have enough room to eat it while sitting

Customer service is important to the people who work at Sascees. They helped us understand how to order food there and they made sure we had everything we needed. We went there to get fried chicken but they didnt have it on Fridays. We had ribs with good BBQ sauce. I would return if I was ever to be in Waco again.

Ive been living in Waco almost 10 years and never knew about this little gem! The food is served buffet style and offers a selection of southern down home deliciousness! I got the 3 meat plate with meatloaf, fried chicken and a huge pork rib. Each was so good! The staff is exceptionally nice and it was obvious they love serving people great food and they really appreciate their customers. The owner served us and she was super nice! She told us the daily offerings change from day to day so I cant wait to go back and try some of their other dishes. Amazing comfort food and a decent price, I highly recommend!
