The atmosphere was incredible, very laid back and casual dining. Food came out quick and fresh! Kiera was my waitress, she was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She made sure I had everything I needed and very attentive to me, as well as other customers. Definitely a place to try! Ask for Kiera!

They have a drive through, but with burgers this good eat at the restaurant! My burger and fries were both amazing. I opted for cheese fries and was not disappointed. The service was friendly and atmosphere was casual with TVs showing sports. I got the bacon blue burger and it was messy but tasted divine. I ordered grilled onions with it instead of fresh.

Probably one of the worst burgers I ve ever had. The meat was dry, there was barely any mayo on the burger, and the toasted poppyseed bun was awful. The bun was so full of poppyseeds that it created a mess and was very overwhelming on the pallet. The hand cut fries were soggy and flavorless. My husband did enjoy the cheeseburger quesadillas; and the sweet tea was good. Service at the drive thru was good. Location is convenient for those traveling on the interstate. Probably won t be back.

Well it was freezing cold indoors The music was so loud I couldnt hear my friend on the phones order. Neither could the cashier. Ridiculous. 2 burgers with tarter tots was 26.00. The tater tots were straight grease and salt. My burger wrapper was soaked in grease, Disgusting. Straight to the trash. Atmosphere was uncomfortable and the food youre gonna have a quadruple bypass. Jakes is an older than me drive in Family owned from North West Hwy. Dallas & Garland Rd. Dallas. Noway is it the same owners.

Awesome little burger restaurant. They even had a turkey burger so even though Im allergic to beef I was able to satisfy my burger craving and not have to settle for a chicken sandwich. <3 Dietary restrictions: They have a turkey burger but they also had a black bean burger as well as a plant based option!

Food was ok, not like whats presented on the menu. For the price, I barely got any tots and the burger was small, ( I ordered the works too) no jalapenos like I asked and the buns wasnt toasted, it was more bread than meat! Im still hungry and for the price I couldve went to Whataburger and got more for a cheaper price. It was my first time eating here as well. I thought I found a new place to eat at but nope. I shouldve took it back and got my money back!

Been here twice, the first time it was delicious, but today my family and I went and the service was BEYOND SLOW, we watched as 4 tables were sat well after us and got their food before us. We also noticed people moving around the seats as the ceiling was leaking and heard employees saying people are moving because water is dripping on them. ALL of the condiments on the table were disgusting, either dried up or had so much grease all over them we immediately decided against using them. Our Loaded tots didnt come with any of the toppings like Pico which was suppose to be included, and our burgers (when they finally arrived) were wrong but obviously due to the long wait we werent interested in even saying anything. Overall this place has delicious burgers but you guys need to get the inside dinning under control. Its messy, understaffed, and disorganized.

First time we ever visited this restaurant. Our server was very friendly and attentive but the food came out backwards and my wife s fries were cold. The replacement fries were very hot and good. Burgers were kinda small with thin patties and under seasoned. Very forgettable. I had a Bloody Mary and it was great! All in all a decent experience with a reasonably priced bill so no complaints. Not crazy about those hard benches at 64 years old though.

No one cares anymore. Went through drive-thru and waited 15 minutes for a single burger that was not made correctly. I wanted a hamburger all the way. Pretty simple right? One burger and tots. I really wanted to like this place, but ordered for the first time today and was completely underwhelmed. Bun was not toasted, hamburger patty was on the edge of being underdone, and i paid for and asked for bacon and no bacon was put on mu burger. Also, the burger is supposed to come with mustard and i had no condiments of ANY kind on the burger. Fries were decent, but nothing to write home about. Ill stick with Toms Burgers!

I hate to write a poor review because I know how many innocent staff may be affected by its results but theres no shaking the fundamental flaw in the main focus of a product. Using (IQF) - Pre-frozen patties is not in anyway going to help. No matter what the cost saving is presented by years end. Literally everything else was good, service, sides, options, atmosphere, toppings, Upper management owes the staff a apology and fix this simple mistake and go to fresh pressed patties. Came here for the very first time I got the works cheeseburger. It was freaking huge and delicious. The fries were OK. Plus, they have the sweet and spicy ketchup. It is freaking delicious. The food was decent but nothing remarkable. Wife and I split a Swiss burger, house salad and fries. The burger was cooked well and ample size. But not as flavorful as I hoped for. The salad was big but just a standard quality. The first boat of fries was burnt pretty bad. But the replaced it and the second ones were great! More browned than some may prefer though. Finally decided to go here last night and I ll start out by saying the staff was very nice. We got seated and our order was placed. We went outside and our waitress was kind enough to ask if we wanted the music turned down. Food was warm and not hot, margarita was disgusting, and appetizer came late but was comped (didn t even ask for that but thank you to the nice people working there). Disappointed because I have such great memories of the one in Dallas.

Tried jakes burgers for the first time because many people in our circle talk about how good it was. I can tell you i had better if im going to spend $50 on two entrées,one appetizer and drinks im taking my money to cupps drive in directly behind jakes in waco better burgers and atmosphere. Jakes is my favorite place in Waco now. The bartender Tony is top notch and a great bartender. My fiance and I are weekly regulars and have never had bad food. I was so excited to see the Jakes in Waco as I have great memories of visiting Jakes for awesome burgers in Dallas years ago. We stopped for lunch on a Sunday afternoon roadtrip back to Austin. The atmosphere inside is clean and open with a good sized patio outside which is right next to the highway but has plenty of seating for groups and TVs. The Jake burger was tasty, and I really enjoyed the onion rings. The kids enjoyed the kids burger and Mac and cheese and loved that chips and queso is an option for a kids side. Service was a little slow but overall we had a good experience and would recommend this spot for a good burger when in the area.

Omg the burgers here are deliciously made!!! I cannot stress that enough omg they are freshly made as you order them and if you have any problem like I did they will gladly make you a fresh one. I really enjoyed coming in to try them out as we came back to Baylor University I didnt even notice this place at all until my friend brought me here . The place is a bit small (very small for my liking) and when people come to eat it is very super crowded (as in shoulder to shoulder) there is an outside seating area but its still very small well. The waiters and waitresses seem very occupied and could hire a few more because the entire time we were there eating we didnt even get a soda refill because of all the people coming in. Check out the sauces as well lol Other than that come enjoy a delicious home made style burger

My husband and I really love the food here, but out of the 6-7 times we have been through the drive thru, only once has our order come out correct. Usually adding onions, pickles, or condiments to burgers, which is often hard to notice until you are actively eating it. It might be different for you if you order something exactly as it comes on the menu, as it seems like modifying things or creating your own is where things come out incorrectly. It s frustrating because we really, really love the food, and are hoping for more consistency in the future as this great restaurant takes off!

This is long overdue. We visited not too long after they opened. Im giving the five stars because of Aniyah, our server. She gave us excellent service and made the awesomest shakes. Yes, its a burger place. The burgers are ok, but the shakes were awesome. We did order to go, so Im not sure how the burgers and fries would taste after being freshly made. We ordered appetizers while we waited for our food. It was fully staffed and not busy, so not sure why the wait was long. I just know where to go for the perfect chocolate shake.

The overall experience was pretty good... Bur when it came to the food (specifically the burger) we had a few bumps in the road..... I dont really know how they prepare the meat for the burger but mine felt slimy and not fully cooked... Its was pinker than a normal cooked burger would be... For instance i felt they were aming for medium well but it was giving rare...... Could just be me but not sure what happened. This was my first time trying this location and the brand... Trey and I had dinner here for the first time 2/8/24 and we were 100% impressed with the burgers and our waiter Tony! we have been to many burger places but this was hands down the best ever. I had the Jakes original with 1,000 sauce and Trey had the shroom burger! DELISH!! O! and we also had the chili cheese fries!! a extra yummy add on! :-) Tony keep our drinks full and checked on us with plenty smiles and conversation! we will definitely be back soon!

Been to Jakes in Waco 4-5 times already. The food is always fresh and tastes great. You can t go wrong with any of the burgers. The sweet potato fries are always money! My kids always look forward to eating here and being treated like VIPs from the staff. Go check it out!!

A la carte dont dont get it, if I ask for a burger I dont want a salad on bread. There should be a standard of how to prepare the burgers on a bun, not a salad on a bun I couldnt even taste the meat and had to make sure it was on the bun. Ill try them again and ask them not to overload me with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, maybe itll be better the second time. Kid-friendliness: The drive thru clerk was kind.

Very small casual dining spot where dining meets pub meets fast food. Food is delish and greeting as soon as you enter. Its definitely a spot to visit in order to understand their unique approach. Burgers are mostly double meat. Could be lighter on the salt. Overall great place for lunch.

Look. The food was great. I went at 10:00pm. Nobody was there. I waited probably 10+ minutes for my food, and I m confused as to why. There were like 7 employees. Did not feel any sense of urgency. My fries were ready like 30 seconds after placing my order, I could see em sitting on the counter. So they weren t very hot. I didn t receive my drink or napkins (and didn t know until I left cuz I just wanted my sandwich), which just sucked after waiting so long. It s too bad, since the food was honestly great. Just really poor service all things considered.

Coming back to the ranch last week, I saw this burger joint on I-35, stopped in for a complete surprise ! WOW FACTOR ! Best burger Ive had in a long time. The service was amazing, RUBY took great care in not only what we should look at on the menu, but made sure we were happy ! The Strawberry Shake, well that another story ! Move over DQ !! Thats the sugar... The only salt.... The onion rings could use a little facelift :( ... Will I stop again, HECK YEAH ! Keep Moving South !!! :)

I came to this establishment on a Thursday about 4:00 p.m. Upon walking in the place it was empty, I had to wait for someone to come out of the back to seat me. I placed my order shortly after being seated. My appetizer came out fairly quickly, some of the cheese curds were not melted. It took a good while for my food to come out even though they were sufficiently staffed. The queso fries were cold, the crispy chicken Mac and cheese was just ok, the chicken was dry and one side was melty the other side was runny. Again, I was the only customer dining in. Halfway through my meal , a couple came in and had to figure out who was going to seat them. After someone told them to pick a spot, the couple sat there so long and after not getting attended they left. The husband even waved goodbye however, none of the staff seemed to care or apologize. I also noticed that while eating 3 vehicles used the drive through and at minimum each car waited 15 mins. One of the vehicles waited 20 mins and had to drive around to the parking lot and had to wait an additional 10 minutes to receive their food. It was only a medium size bag that was handed to them. Also, when I was seated I noticed the table behind me had a partially eaten plate that no one ever bothered to pick up and clean after. Again, I was the only customer in the dining room and they were sufficiently staffed. Perhaps sometime in the future I might go back just to try their burgers. Not sure though because this was a bad first impression. Seems like service isnt properly managed or no one cares.

I will update if we try again but service was awful. walking in it was unclear if you wait for seating or seat yourself. After a few minutes a lady turned around and said sit where you want. So we did. (there was a hostess stand by the door). Only one table had 2 people the rest was empty. It looked clean inside. We sat down and waited for menus and no one came. Another couple came in about 5-10 minutes after us grabbed menus from the hostess stand so we went back up and grabbed some too. The table seemed short for the height of the benches. Anyway, the couple who came in after us got a server and drinks and sat right behind us. No one ever came to get us drinks or take our order. IT was NOT busy at all and I saw at least 3 female servers and a guy at the bar area. 1 server was doing paperwork and not paying attention the whole time, the other was servicing the table that had 2 people when we walked in and the third helped the people who came in after us. Thinking she would come get us drinks she worried about the other table first with drinks, specially drinks, and their food and appetizers. The whole time we waited for anything and not even a hello.... I hope it was a bad day but IDK.

We tried to go in for lunch. Waited about 5 minutes and a different family showed up after us and got an order taken. We had been waiting and never got helped. Went to the bar to order a drink and the bar tender was very helpful and nice. The manager delivered our drinks and we complained that a family that came in after us was being helped and we had yet to be helped. Her response was sorry we are short staffed and everyone is sick . No concern on not being helped and ignored . She wasn t listening to my issue, I didn t minded them being short staffed. The issue was someone else had immediate service while we had been waiting 5 minutes and just being ignored. This place will not last 1 year. To many other better burger joints. Jake s the company is great but this location needs better training.

Really wanted to like this place. We ve been to the one in Ft Worth and it was really great. Maybe since this is a new location they have some things to work out but I expected more from an already established chain restaurant. The atmosphere was really great. That was probably the best part. I like how it feels like a sit down place but it also feels very casual. The patio is also really nice. I like how they have a decent variety of draft beers on tap. Our server was really nice. He seemed pretty attentive to our needs and kept up with our table. Our drinks went fairly low a couple of times but usually not for very long. The food was really disappointing though. Our tarot tots tasted like funnel cakes, which was weird. I m assuming fried them in the same oil as a dessert item. My black bean burger was super dry but not as dry as the poppy seed bun it was sandwiched between. My burger also had literally no sauce on it. I didn t take a photo of that burger unfortunately. I m not sure if dry buns is Jake s thing but this place had super dry buns. If it s their style then maybe it s just not for me. My significant other order the patty melt. The bread here was also dry but not as dry as my bun. Herr burger tasted a lot more flavorful and was more moist than mine. Honestly, I would give them another shot but if it s like this next time then I will likely go to Billy Bobs for my burger fix in Waco.
