As a Cancer patient I visit Citizens and its family of Drs very frequently. All my Drs, NP, and Nurses are great! Minor surgery went very well yesterday (even tho this issue could not be resolved but thats ok) afterwards no back issues and minimal recovery pain. Very Thankful

My experience with the ER doctor Satani was absolutely HORRIBLE! After being there for 6 hours, and an unnecessary battery of test, I was sent home with paralysis in one leg, incontinence, spinal stenosis in two places of my spine, and was told that all my tests look fine, discharged and told to followup with my primary doctor within two days. She could NOT read a chart and wanted to dose me with a drug I was allergic to(and it clearly states in my chart), she told me she could not prescribe anything for pain because it would break my contract with my doctor. She could not read a chart or tests properly. The nurses and staff were wonderful! The doctor sucked!!

Took my dad to ER because he was EXTREMELY lethargic and couldnt eat or drink. The QUACK, Dr. Walrod, diagnosed him as dehydrated and sent us home. Next day, no improvement. Took him back. Same QUACK, same diagnosis. We called his PCP and argued for home health assistance that afternoon. Once the nurse arrived, she said this aint right. This is something serious. She then advised us to get another opinion. To take him to DeTar ER, directly into the ambulance bay, and scream for help. Did that. They rushed him in. By the time Id parked and rushed inside, the doctor had already diagnosed him. Multiple severe strokes. She said it was textbook, and ANY good doctor could see it just by looking at the patient. We were told all the damage couldve been reversed or HUGELY minimized had he been administered new stroke meds at that first ER visit. By the time he was PROPERLY diagnosed, the damage was permanent. He even had a few more mini strokes while hospitalized. He never walked again and was permanently paralyzed on his left side. This was a man who dedicated 36 years of DEVOTION to the Victoria Fire Department. Although my brothers promised, in all their anger, to sue the pants off CMC (its not the first time that QUACK has been the topic of malpractice suits and misdiagnosis cases, but they still keep him on staff), in their nothing but noise lazy attitudes (very typical), they never did. CMC and QUACK Walrod got away with a doozy.

The Doctors are great. Post Surgery care needs a lot of attention. Contact me, ( which I doubt will happen), so that I can address these issues personally. I will not recommend this facility based on our experience.

This hospital almost killed me. I had a horrible sepsis infection. They kept me doped up on pills and I was told to get ready for hospice care. I demanded a transfer to Houston. My oncologist got involved and in 2 days I had all my infections under control at Memorial Hermann TMC. I was told had I stayed one more day in that hospital Id be dead. The night staff was awful. Im not even comment on how they treated me. They need to stop student nurses or CNAs taking care of patients with serious issues.

My brother was in icu. 2nd floor. Since July 5th. The nurses that work that shift at night shift. From july5th - july13th. Are there just for a pay check. They should be there to take care of the patients not there to bullcrap or to be gossiping at work. These patients depend on these nurses to take care of them. I feel bad for these people. So dont bring your family here. Cause they are no good people that work here.

Watch their billing VERY closely. They have billed me almost double what I shouldve paid for the past 2 years. Each time, Ive had to call and fight to get my money back. They tie your overpayment up for months. Insurance and deductibles are costing us working people dearly. Then, Citizens overcharging us, on purpose, really disgusts me. You call about it and the refund lady tells you four to six weeks for refunds. They claim any overpayment is credited to your account unless you ask for a refund. Somehow, I dont believe that one bit. So, I will no longer be using Citizens or their doctors. I dont trust them with my money. That makes me question trusting them with my health.

Not a fan of this hospital at all. They pick & choose which patients to take serious. Waited in the ER for 3 hours before we got a room. Got to the room & still took over an hour, Just for them to give one shot. Spoke to the nurse immediately after getting into a room. Nurse practitioner told us there plan of action (acting like my wife s pain wasn t serious) which was just a muscle relaxer shot. Took an hour + just to get that. My wife takes her jacket off & the Not efficient at all, I see why rooms are never available. Took over an hour just to administer a shot in the arm. All these employees for no reason, seems like no one s working.

I went to the ER on 03/28/24 so scared and feeling like I was going to be judged because I hadnt been to a Dr for 32 yrs and had no prescribed medicine for 32 years. I was admitted and stayed for 3 days and was treated with so much compassion and kindness and all they wanted to do was help me feel better Dr. Junor and all the Drs. and nurses were amazing I have high blood pressure and now on two medicines and I feel so much better they sent me home with hope and resources I will be forever thankful!

I would give zero stars if I could. I brought my daughter to the ER on 1/29/24 as she could not swallow any liquids or food. Bringing her here was a last resort after she was at another ER previously near her university 2 days before (Friday night) and I could not get her GI on the phone (I tried the after hours number and called Monday morning). In a panic I brought her to my parents house who live in Victoria and my mom suggested taking her Citizens as my daughter was getting worse. I was trying to find a GI to get her into but my daughter was getting worse by the day. At first the staff was very nice and so was the ER doctor. I showed the doctor the CT Scan my daughter had at the ER by her university and he was at first concerned. He did blood work and an x-ray and stated he would see who was on call for that day. Once the results came back he came into the room, sat down and asked us where we are from. Then he asked who I was and asked are you her sister or sister in law, who are you? I said I am her mother like I told you previously. He dismissed her symptoms as GERD and said all her labs look fine. He then said he didnt have anyone on call that day who could see my daughter even though he previously said he would get the doctor on call. My daughter was in tears because she was starving and could not get anything in her stomach and all because we werent from the area he dismissed us and my daughters symptoms. I am absolutely disgusted with the experience. Luckily my daughters GI doctor finally called back after the ER visit and she had and EGD immediately due to her symptoms and it was found that it was not GERD but achalasia and she needs surgery. Shame on you Citizens. You sent her home and dismissed us because we were not from the area. I will never recommend this ER to anyone.

11/6/23 I got here at the emergency room at 12:30pm it is now after 4pm oclock. And my child has fever and they are making us wait hours! People have come in after us and left already. Im extremely upset with citizens it use to not be like this! Update AGAIN!!! 11/14/23 Got here at 10am and Im barley leaving at 4pm!!! This is so damn ridiculous!!!yall act like we got time to be here for a whole damn shift!? Like what in the world is wrong with this damn hospital. If you dont have enough people well hire more people this is ridiculous as hell!

I took my aunt to get x-rays done on 11/8 and had the worst experience ever in radiology, the woman at the desk didn t simply ask for my aunts paper work she tapped at her and put out her hand to receive the paper. When another woman came to ask if we needed assistance the lady who tapped her fingers on the desk rudely told us to sit down. Then as I am leaving there is 2 ladies at the exit of the main entrance standing there just eyeballing a young boy sweep the floor, one is standing there EATING, and one was trying to be secretive and be on her phone and face the wall. I honestly felt bad for the young man that looked uncomfortable for them to be observing him sweeping and not even helping. I m giving 2 stars because besides from radiology and the cleaning staff I ve had nothing but positive experiences from the rest of the hospital staff.

Wayyyyy too long of a wait time for something that is life threatening. I came into the ER for something that has killed many people. They don t care. I guess I shoulda went home and ate and got a good nights rest before coming in the morning. I mean if they aren t worried about me dying, why should I be? I ve been waiting over 2 and a half hours. I can literally die at any time(even as I m typing this) and they don t care. At least give me a heads up that I m gonna be here all night waiting in the lobby so I can at least get something to eat or something. At least pretend y all care about people. Don t thank me for my service to this country because I sure as hell didn t do it for people like this.

I am giving it a 3 stars. Because I have been sitting here in a room for our, I am nauseous, vomiting, and in severe pain, the doctor doesnt want to do anything for my pain at all. Doctor Richardson is wanting to do nothing for my pain, my pain is causing my nausea, and he dont want to control the pain which would control the nausea, hey, sitting there, doing nothing for me, the nurses are sitting there, laughing, talk and joke and doing whatever they want, and they also get away with lying. The other people are nice, the triage nurse was a good nurse, the front desk are good, check is good. But I will not send people hear that I know personally, this aint doing a damn thing to help.

The Staff at this hospital are unmatched in professionalism and compassion. My mother was here and her end of life care was the best. They also showed unending compassion for us as a family as we dealt with this horrible time. It did not matter what shift it was, or what position they held. This hospital is top notch and I would refer anyone here. Everything is sort of a blur now, so I cannot remember names, but I love each and every care giver that gave my mother attention during her brief stay here.

The doctor and surgery was fine but the staff is vapid and easily confused. If you have a medical savings account, speak slowly and clearly. They have difficulty understanding concepts that involve more than three sentences. Absolutely, do not under any circumstance tust the online sign up. I have a medical savings account with $5,000 in it. I was still charged over $400 for a doctors visit to my card that should have come out of my savings account. After receiving the receipt and submitting it to my insurance, I was told that it would take almost 3 months before I received my refund. Now I have to go to my bank and submit a fraudulent charge to a doctors office. Maybe theyre billing can figure all of this out after I have the money return to my account. All of this because someone doesnt understand the basics of insurance. Not even the complicated stuff. Just the basics. Utilize this facility at your own financial risk.

The level of compassion,excellence,and professionalism my daughter Farrin Blazejack experienced with Citizens Hospital will be something I will remember and talk about whenever I speak of Citizens Hospital. They kept my daughter comfortable and treated her gently after her surgery. Always attentive and helpful. Your hospital has picked the best of the best to run your hospital. Worst attention by medical staff ever!!! These people are beyond slow. I brought my mother in at 3:30 am and 7 hours later we are still here. They prescribed her a steroid which if you ask me makes no sense to prescribe a diabetic patient something that is clearly going to make their blood sugar skyrocket to 400 when it s normally around 100 to help fix them just for the patient to have to return the next night after taking the meds you prescribed just to spend the entire night in agonizing pain wondering if she s going to have a stroke or not by your way of trying to fix her they pushed us to the side as if she didn t matter and nothing was wrong with her just because she had been seen the day before!!! The first hour in the back no one had come in to as much as take a vital sign In fact the first overnight male nurse that came in was joking about my mothers condition and actually had the audacity to say sauna sauna Colita de rana and did the sign of the cross in front of my mother and said your fine. When clearly she was not fine. Her sugars were well over 300 from the steroid that was prescribed to her from citizens. Like really aren t you supposed to be a team of intelligent doctors and nurses working together as a diligent team to take care of every one of your patients?!? Clearly your staff is failing to perform your job properly here. I m beyond disappointed with this hospital. We have requested to leave several times from this staff that s having a jolly old time laughing and playing with each other; on their phones; and ignoring patients requests. All they can tell us is her lab results are back but now someone needs to read them. I believe that someone would be the doctor I seen sitting behind the desk laughing and playing with the rest of your so called staff not doing their job. I will never return to this hospital again. Again it is 10:16 am and I have been here with my mother since 3:30 am

No wonder this hospital is rated 3.4. I called and spoke to a nurse about getting a script for Antiviral pills for covid. She right away asked what is my insurance. I told her Humana. She right away the me it doesnt cover and it will cost us $250.00. I called Humana and nurse their looked it up and told me it was 0 copay. Whats up with these people. They dont want to help people. They want us to die. She doesnt know what shes talking about without calling Humana first!!

I brought a nursing home resident with behavior issues in for tests. Darlene and the team from radiology and security were so patient and understanding. They reassured the resident she was in good hands and we all had the goal of getting her the best care possible. They even took the time to tell me Im doing great and they know that my job is not easy when you have to deal with behaviors. Couldnt have asked for a more caring and understanding team. Job well done. You are definitely the best in the field.

I have been working with woundcare for several months, for diabetic wounds on my feet. We have been successful in healing several wounds. We were down to one wound. But the only wound care doctor on staff whent on vacation, wich I have no issue with except she was gone for several weeks and even that would be okay if she had left someone qualified to take care of her clients. I ended up with a bone infection and hospitalized for almost two weeks because the stand in would not be more aggressive even after he wound was stinking and rotting before her eyes I expressed to her that the healing wasnt going well and somthing was wrong.

The rent a cops they have as Security are a ffing joke. Raymond Garcia was handing everbody who walked in without a mask, a mask, while not sanitizing his hands. That is DISGUSTIING! He was harrassing 2 Females who called ahead to visit their mother, who just had major sugery. Garcia called another rent a cop named Greg Hook for back up cause the females are being rude and inciting a scene. As a witness to this, NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE DENIED TO SEE THEIR LOVED ONES!! THESES UNEDUCATED GENTALMEN NEED TO BE RELEASED AND CMC NEEDS TO GET THEIR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT.

My 2yo stopped breathing last night. It was only for a second or two but it was the longest 2 seconds of my life. We took him to Citizens ER and was treated poorly by the doctor. We kept trying to tell him we rushed him in because he choked on his own phlegm as he was trying to throw it up.. but he wouldn t hear us. I told him everything that led up to last night. I told him he had been running fever all weekend, pretty high for Lazer not so high to cause an immediate concern and was trying to wait until today to see a doctor. I told him he had been complaining of his mouth hurting and burning, I tried telling him all his symptoms but he just shut me out or so it felt. My baby boy cried the entire time we were there and not a single person checked on him. They didn t ask the last time I gave him meds, they didn t give him any either, not even offered a cup of water .. no instead we were treated as if we were a nuisance. We were in tears as we experienced something traumatic and we got no empathy except from the registration lady and the intake nurse. I understand they see a lot but we don t. They ran two test and said he has a cold but in my gut I know it s not a cold or just a cold. I ve had 4 hours of sleep max and it wasn t restful sleep either. I called his doctor and because we didn t get out until 1am-ish we can t be seen today for insurance purposes! This is heartbreaking to me! My son stopped breathing and we were made to feel like we were ridiculous my heart is sad and to the citizens Er doctor, you should quit your job if you don t like dealing with patients Always take your little ones to detar north always, they re the absolute best in Victoria

I showed up in the E.R. via ambulance with a hemoglobin count of just over 2. Which is life threatening by any measure. The E.R. team did excellent work getting me back to safety. Then the ICU team took over. I regret that I was so out of it that I cant remember much of my hours in the E.R. like the names of the heroes that brought me back around. As for the ICU Stephanie, Kristina and the ICU Director all did outstanding work nursing me back to health. Thanks to all the staff at Citizens Hospital in Victoria, Texas for the outstanding care extended to me and my family. Thank you one and all. Scott Long

More than likely cause I am paying cash and don t have insurance. Some ladies seem like they are prejudice. And mostly everyone working there is over weight

Terrible hospital their bed side manner is terrible I took my daughter who has MD and the staff are rude like nothing Ive ever whitness before even the security officer approach me while I was picking up change that the machine spitt out and rolled all over the place and he walked up behind me and said can I help you and I said no Im picking up my change and he asked me again can I help you and I replied is there a problem and he kept on saying can I help you and I am not going to lie he made me upset and I stood up and he I guess realize that I was upsetand walk away very unprofessional Ill never go are recommend citizen to anyone

Husband had total knee replacement and all aspects of care were excellent! He checked into day surgery at 6 am and was discharged at 2:30 pm with new knee. Day surgery staff were informative and compassionate, especially Charice who was assigned Rons case.

Went to Citizens hospital twice with my father and the emergency room with him as well. I cant begin to describe how wonderful the staff is there from the receptionist to the ICU to the doctors, surgeons, housekeepers and physical therapists. Everyone was truly amazing, caring and felt like family! Thank you Citizens Medical Center for everything especially Dr. Krueger and Dr. Knight for saving my Daddy. Sincerely, Teresa Dogan

Ignore the ER. They told me they dont do x-rays there?! Went in with back pain and left with it undiagnosed. Still cant sit up, stand, reach, or lift anything off the floor. Nurses were nice including Severo. Nurses & facility earned the 2 stars and the doc gets none for disappearing after 4 minutes and not ordering more tests. Cheaper to stay home in pain.

Went in the ER to be checked out the nurses were nice the PA on duty was blunt but to the point I like that. The only problem I seen was how filthy the room was the air filter was so filthy Im surprised we could even breath in that room disgusting.

When you go to ER because youve been vomiting bile 3 to 4 times a week and a CT scan and blood work according to the doctor says nothing is wrong, admit them and find out why because something IS WRONG! My son is an adult with no insurance so of course the dont care to treat or help you first off because of that. In knowing that the doctor wants to refer him to a specialist, ok smart man how does a person pay when for one theres no insurance and secondly with this COVID he was with no work for 3 months trying to survive.PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR HUMAN CARE and this was done Saturday August 1 approximately 2pm shame on you for whoever saw him!!!!

I am new to the area and tried calling to make an appointment with a cardiologist I had researched (Dr. Tillman). When I called the office, they were unwilling to allow me to make an appointment without first having a referral from my primary care doctor. I explain to them that I did not have a PC doctor because he had passed away and went on to explain that I never needed one before...ever with the insurance I ve had for the past 20 yrs. They told me that because they had a lot of referrals Coming in that they changed his new policy. Since when should a medical group put the number of referrals before the needs of a patient?! Unfortunately, it looks like I ll be driving to Houston because I refuse to go somewhere that has these practices.

Absolutely the worst hospital that I have ever been too. If you have a severe medical condition confirmed by several very good Doctors I would not go here. They are rood. They lie. They provide no medical care or concern. Do not waste your time or money on these physicians. Hospitals are for emergencies. They are a worthless facility. I would give them no stars or negative 5 stars. They try to blame you as a patient instead of being a Doctor.

Worst hospital in the world. My Blood pressure was 245/135 - 130 heart rate... I was left in er bed until all the alarms set-off.. The nurses act like there in some low class sororities...While patients are left wondering what there health status is, the nurses are talking about men, food and how all of these patients are asking to many questions....Every executive and heads of department should be shopped by an OUTSIDE SOURCE. Ive had crohns disease and I have been hospitalized all over Texas never would I pay taxes to support that hospital If you carry about yourself or your loved ones you would pass up this hospital and head for a safer lake to drowning!!!

This place was horrible they all were rude under evaluated me. Had police escort me out took back the blanket they gave my daughter refused my girlfriend service of a outlet to do a breathing treatment and watched us walk away knowing we arent from here and dont know were we are going. I came to detar and. They were and are outstanding in there care. Their staff bought my daughter food clothes my girlfriend food and let her use the outlet while letting her sleep in their lobby. Detar is the way to go.

I came from out of town to have a surgery done and the staff at this hospital is the best care I have ever received at a facility. I felt so comfortable they went above and beyond to make me feel better. I need 2 more procedures and I will definitely make the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to this hospital. My sister broke out after some meds that the ER nurse put in her IV and I go up to the nurses station to get a nurse to come look at her, she did, but the nurse said well she s not itchy and her throat doesn t hurt but I will find her nurse. It has been 30min since then and we haven t seen her. LOVE labor and delivery (shout out to Mrs. Donna) but ER sucks

I would give 0 stars if that was an option . I wouldnt take my dog to that hospital . The nurses were the worst I have ever seen in my life rude with NO compassion when a patient is in pain . The only good thing I have to say about that place is their PT woman was the only nice person there ! I worked in the medical field for 18 years and I cant imagine ever treating a human being the way I was treated !!!

First off I was in there tonight came in about 6:30 pm walked out at 9:30 pm I was instructed to go to the Emergency room by my Dr. For the Asian in my knees, because he could not treat the pain I was in with Norco this evening because it had not worked the night before. After the enormous wait I get a Young PA that says it is myfasical Pain and tells me to take 2 Norco and put me on steroids and an antiiflamatory shot. I tried to explain the pain was mostly when I tried to put my weight on my foot and hurt all the way down my tibuala. Now I am no Dr. But it seems to me if I am crying in pain and it has been getting worst since surgery in December and I am to the point of even the touch it hurts and that my Dr. Sent me in you might look for more than myfasical pain. And to double a pill that I explained made me hyper not sleepy and was not working to treat me with anti-inflamatories when there was no swelling present makes me wonder if I was in the right place. This young Pa was more concerned how much Norco I was takin g at home than the immediate problem. And by 61 I should know how I react to this Medicine having taken it a few times in my life time. This was a wick fix get me out after waiting so long. I feel short changed by the Hospital and especially This aJordan LaLonde PA. Now it is 11;25 Pm Knee is still hurting as Badly as it did at 6:30pm and my legs wont stop moving from the Norco and wide awake for who knows how many hours from now!!!!

It was a Sunday at 10pm and I went in with a broken ankle. My first time in the ER in this city. Worst ER on the planet. No regard for my pain, broken ankle. People were there for questionable reasons and the police mans guard says it all for the crowd that comes in. The nurses are inside a glass cubicle. First window you write something then they ask you to wait, I thought to be seen now remember I am in pain of a broken ankle. No ice nothing. And they told me you have to wait to register. We waited for 15 mins and left to DeTar North. Nothing different there but gave me ice and took me in matter of five mins but they were out of beds/ rooms as well. Dont go to Citizens ER if you are seriously in pain. The wait time will be more than one hour and nurses cant tell you how long the wait time is. Heartless nurses, they dont know prioritize patients according to their pain and severity of the reason.

Facilty was dirty and the staff was rude no greet upon arival looked at you as though you where intruding on thier time. The nurse that gave my girlfriend her injections was about as rude they get. The only nice person was the nurse that took vitals. Get it together citizens!

I had a problem with a doctor who told me he couldnt prescribe any medication that would help.He even told me there wasnt any type of medication for nerve pain.I later found that to be false.When I tried to call and make a complaint the lady argued with me about the complaint instead of just reporting it.I could see any doctor a bit apprehensive about prescribing pain medication.That didnt bother me much it was the fact that he lied to me.7 days later i had to spend more money on another doctor who was very helpful and prescribed me with the proper medication that helped with swelling i had went to the emergency room for.My pain was all but gone but those 5 nights were without sleep.
