Rooms: Bed was comfortable, furniture in room has seen better days and is kind of crummy and beat up. The chair for the desk in the room was half stripped of its black vinyl cover and belongs in trash! Ive never stayed at any hotel with a chair torn up as this one! The wifi for the entire hotel was down while we were there and the front desk said it had been down for weeks. The fitness room was permanently closed and the door was covered with brown paper and locked. We got frustrated and left after the first night, moving to the Hilton Gardens hotel right next door and it was much nicer. Weve stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn Express hotels and theyve been good - until now. I do not recommend this hotel.

We ve stayed in the past and never had any problems. But this past weekend we went and when we went to get in sheets there was hair and crumbs all in the bed sheets. Very discussing and we were changing the sheets ourselves at 2:30am!

I booked four days in advance, and then was given a room with a broken refrigerator. I was given no help, they told me they would not switch refrigerators because it was the weekend and the maintenance people weren t there. I don t think you need maintenance people to switch 2 fridges. And the guy at the front desk offered me no help, he said he talked with his boss and the only thing they could do was give me another room, which was smaller. I have an autistic son and a-year-old and need a large room, THATS WHY I BOOKED IT. I looked online and it showed 4 king suites available, I tell him I want one of those. He gives me one I go in there and it is a king standard. Not a king suite which has a living room area. Very dissatisfied with this hotel and will never be here again. We were going to make this our hotel for every time we see family. But we will no longer be staying here anymore.

Hats off to Tristan My company does services for this establishment, and he not only gave great telephone etiquette, but upon arrival was very friendly and helpful to get my information for service. Kimberly (2nd floor Room Service Attendant) along with all staffing, was great help, and very personable. Ty for making my workday easier, as I never had been to Victoria ! Old , outdated, musty smell. Staff is friendly . Rooms are very used with musty smell , furnishings are stained, worn out ,scratched and chipped . Doors . Walls and cabinets are dirty , Sticky and broken also with stains . Found a washcloth in corner with brown smudge! The suite upgrade was disappointing. It looked nothing like the advertised picture. The kitchenette was an airplane bathroom sink. Every time the toilet would flush, there was a high pitch-winning that lasted for 30 seconds. The couch was worn out and sagging, very uncomfortable, and was more like a hospital sofa. The office chair vinyl was peeling off. The lamps were dusty and rusted. The staff was annoyed we required assistance at check-in. The bed was comfortable, though. I wasted hard-earned money trying to experience just a little bit of luxury with the suite upgrade at this property and was sorely disappointed I chose this location. Noteworthy details: Dingy rooms, impatient and annoyed staff, overpriced, disappointing.

Stayed here on christmas eve into christmas morning. The room was great, clean and very spacious. The front desk was very cheerful and happy to help at both check-in and check-out. It made the experience that much better with everyone having such a great mood on christmas eve and christmas day. The breakfast served in the morning was amazing! I was honestly expecting just a simple breafast. They had everything layed out so neatly. Omelettes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, cinnamon rolls, muffins, breads and bagels for toasting, an oatmeal bar, fresh fruits, hot coffee, a pancake machine, and milks, and juices in the fridge to stay cold. Needless to say it was a great way to start the day off on christmas morning while traveling. The kitchen staff working were also very upbeat and friendly. Everything about this experience was very welcoming, i will choose this hotel again for any future stays. Christmas 2023!

Rooms: Unfortunately, bed bugs! We requested to be moved and they promptly did. However, we were quite concerned about how properly the room would be treated so as to avoid the same issue. Nearby activities: Close to all commercial/shopping areas, parks and points of interest. Safety: Felt safe being at this place. Food and drinks: Breakfast was good. Attendant was not as attentive to the food that was running out. Incidentally, at one of our mornings, she had her family eating at the place which distracted her from her job. Noteworthy details: The place is in need of updating. It was somewhat of a disappointment. Staff was friendly but appeared lackadaisical.

Hello, I would like to express my extreme disappointment in my stay at Holiday Inn express in Victoria, TX. Quickly upon our arrival I knew we had made a mistake by staying here. As soon as we entered the hotel it was dark, dingy, and dirty. As we went to the room we saw the horrible carpet and holes all over the walls. I don t think the carpet has every been cleaned in the halls or in the actual room. In the room the dirty floor was gross, bathroom not clean, holes in the walls in the bathroom, hair on the towels, and a roach in the bathtub! There was water damage on the floor. The shower curtain is so thin that water ended up all over bathroom floor to where we had to get more towels. I tried to call the front desk and our room phone from 1980 would not work. So I had to go downstairs and get more towels. The next morning I went to the fitness center. Apparently it was closed with no signs and no one telling us that. When my key didn t work I went to the front desk where a woman was in the GM office watching a movie on her phone, she didn t come to the desk until I knocked on it, but don t worry she continued to watch the movie on her phone while I am trying to figure out what is going on. She was rude and snippy. Frustrated with the customer service I went back to my room. Throughout our stay I never saw the two women behind the desk. They were always sitting in the chairs by the door playing on their phones or FaceTiming people with the volume up. Just absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional! Breakfast, was never hot, asked for more sausage and was ignored twice. Staff was very short and rude. Room service - knocked on the door early every morning before 8 and 9! This was just ridiculous and extremely frustrating while trying to sleep! Then on the day we check out housekeeping is knocking on the door asking when we will be out for them to clean the room (it was 8:58am we still had 3 hours). This was just extremely frustrating! Overall we did not have a good experience in this very dirty and dingy hotel with rude and unprofessional staff that would rather sit on their phone instead of do their job. For $100 a night I expected much more. This is very overpriced for what you get and the experience you get.

The wheelchair accessible rooms were ok. Had a couple of chairs that werent necessary so they were mostly in the way. If there was a fire you only have one way out and thats through the main entrance. So not very safe. The shower needs a makeover. The floor was very slippery due to water all over the floor. Had an issue with people parking in the handicap parking spots. Hotel couldnt/wouldnt do anything about it. Great breakfast!

We showed the lady at the front desk our confirmation on booking a regular king room but she insisted we can only get the handicap double queen room with a wheel chair shower. Very rude! The room smells like dog pee. We can only pick up 3 channels on the outdated Philips tv. The a/c works good but it stinks so bad in here Also the shower floods the bathroom. Room 221 smells of death! Combination of musty/smoke/etc. I was exhausted from work, traveling and late so didn t have the desire to move or go somewhere else. Kids upstairs horse-playing ,, ugh! Woke up next morning and breakfast wasn t bad, at least they fixed bacon. Asked for the room receipt and one woman couldn t help me because she was ranting about her hair.(which looked like two giant birds had landed and made a nest)That s just pure laziness! I always stay at this hotel when visiting the area but because of this experience, they will never get my business again. Upon arriving to check in I was met with a line of people waiting to check in and no staff anywhere to be found. I ended up having to call the hotel to see if someone was on property as the person in the front of the line had been waiting 30 minutes to check in. The phone was answered remotely from somewhere in the building and when I asked if someone was there to work the front desk I was rudely told she would be right there and hung up on. A disheveled staff member showed up a little later. Im not sure if that staff member knew that it was me that called and disrupted whatever she was doing because I was the only female in line or what the problem was but immediately was extremely rude to me through the whole check in process. We get to our room and settle in for the night and go to grab my phone off of the nightstand and a roach comes crawling out from the alarm clock! While watching TV we notice a few more running around on the dresser where the mini fridge is. We stayed 2 nights, the full day that we were there we put our greener stay tag on the door to get the 500 points for skipping housekeeping for the day. I never received those points. I gave it a few days after my stay before I called the hotel so why they werent issued and was told that as per the owners policy I didnt qualify for the points because I didnt stay 3 nights. But as per IHG policy that the owners cannot just change I had to stay 2 consecutive nights, which I did. When I called to speak to the manager about the poor treatment all she said was ok... This used to be our go to hotel when we are in the area visiting family but we will be lodging elsewhere from now on.

Pretty much par for what you can expect in this town - starts off nice when new, then deteriorates fairly rapidly. Temper-Pedic bed WAS comfortable - two stars for that, but the rest breakfast is hit or miss - mostly miss. The lady managing it is either incompetent, doesn t care, or both. They are ALWAYS running out of something and/or won t refill - biscuits, oatmeal, coffee you never know if they ll have it or not. Fitness room doesn t have fitness equipment that WORKS - no weights; not even dumbbells; three NON-working treadmills and one functioning elliptical. Stayed in two different rooms - television turns on, but there s no way to select a channel entertainment system seems broken. BUT, the bed IS comfortable, so there s THAT.

Made a corporate reservation for my technicians and called the front desk to ensure that everything was done successfully and the authorization form. Janie at front desk was struggling to get the spelling so I very carefully & patiently repeated myself several times and even tried phonetic spelling. Janie interrupted me several times trying to jump ahead and assume the spelling which was wrong and caused her to make more mistakes. I had to correct her several times and wanted to check that she got it correct and have her repeat the information. Janie was rushing to get me off the phone, she was rude & hung up. Not a comfortable first impression and very poor etiquette.

The room was excellant. We really liked it! Needed 4 towels instead of 3 as my hubby wanted to soak in the tub before bedtime ( Sore Back). NO BATH MAT. Had to use one of the bath towels on the floor. Went back down to ask for another towel, where is coffee,& could i have more scratch paper. Sorry about this. There was no attendant at desk . I stood there for ten minutes waiting. I knocked on counter. I hollered out 3 times Hello anyone here finally i started back to my room & out of corner of my eye i caught that she was sitting on the living room chairs in breckfast area watching tv & talking to another lady (wearing a heavy jacket so i dont think she was a guest as i saw her when we checked in)who was also watching tv & talking to her. She looked at me & then came to see what i wanted(perhaps a loud bell on the desk might help). I felt that she was not a happy person but that could just be her personallity as i felt that way when we checked in too. We stop in Victoria every time we pass through on our way to Minn/Iowa to visit family (Victoria is only 4-5 hours from our house). Would like to see corp. or senior discounts too. Rooms: Awesome room. Needed a bath mat & 1 more towel. Great bed. Very clean. Would like to see written directions to TV in the room. Loved the mini Dove bar of soap at bathroom sink. Would like to have another mini one for the tub area too. (as offered in other hotels.)There was not a bar of soap in tub area. Nearby activities: Our Favorite place to eat & we always go there is ...BAYTOWN SEAFOOD RESTURANT. Victoria has everything we need from eating to shopping & gas ect. Love it here. Food and drinks: We Love BAYTOWN SEAFOOD RESTURANT. This is the highlight of our visit to Victoria. Your complimentary breckfast is GREAT & the lady that watches over this area is very very plesant. Noteworthy details: Over all we would choose this hotel. Could you offer discounts like..John Deere Corporate, & or Senior. This would be awesome.

Front desk customers service is awful. We re just checking in at 3pm, we requested for the 3rd floor room as I m a very light sleeper. There are only a few cars on the parking lot and she rudely told us there s no room available on the 3rd floor without even checking the room availability. In our previous experiences IHG hotels especially Holiday Inn hotels have excellent customer services. We ve never experienced such bad service in other ihg hotels before today. Very disappointing

The toilet in Room 336 would get stuck upon flushing and the water ran until the lid was removed and the arm release so the bulb could cover the hole allowing the tank to fill. The fold out sofa was not in working order. At the pool there was plenty of outdoor furniture was available. Unfortunately 80% was broken. The metal parts were broke with jagged rusty metal. It was a big risk for punctures and the need for a tetanus injection. The staff was friendly and attentive

So far a favorite stay in Victoria. Highly recommend. Rooms are very clean, and good sized, not to mention the 11 foot ceilings makes the room feel more open. We got a good nights sleep on their comfortable bed. We were at the end of the hall on the first floor and didnt hear any outside noise. The hot breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. We will book again.

Tv signal scrambled, could have been the wind. Whirlpool cold, but pool clean with plenty of towels. Needs an update for the room furniture wise, but is clean, no in room safes. Very hot water in the shower, clean bathroom. Air conditioner ran fine and kept the room cold. Parking and outside maintenance look very good and clean. Bit pricey for what was offered overall.

The day staff are rude and not very helpful. We checked in the room and found dead roaches on the floor, asked for a new room and they obliged. Moved to the new room and we had so much trouble opening and closing the door. We asked the night staff if we could do a late checkout and they assured us we could checkout at 1pm. We decided to verify the next morning and the day staff said we could not, we had to be out at regular time. The breakfast they advertise is horrible, they put very little out and what is out is ild and greasy. I will NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn Express, especially in Rockport, Texas. The night staff was friendly but day staff was rude and appeared to only be concerned with the bottom line $$.

This place has been poorly managed and maintained. Looks nice from outside..impressive entrance. Worn out and dirty inside. Like a much cheaper chain I would not go to. Red flag when first impression at front desk had broken up lampshades and patched unpainted walls, dirty floor, dusty tables. Dirty carpet, worn out furniture with tears and holes, roaches, toilet with pee and hair, hair in corners and edges of bath floor, rusted unsafe dirty microwave. Heard it just sold..now that profits probably wont match fixing it up. IHG really needs to be more careful who they are giving their name to since I am seeing more of them going down in quality. After 3 unsuccessful attempts to find a clean room, I was comped my room since too late to move. My pictures dont lie and the night lady went to rooms with me. She at least acted like she cared so gave 2 stars. Not great response from day mgr. when checked out. I dont think she would have done anything if I had not taken MANY good pictures and let her know I spend at least 3 months a yr at IHG hotels. Might be going back Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton only now. Too many laborers living at IHG hotels now and not being clean, respectful guests. Are their company contracts worth the damage being done to buildings and reputation?

The room was great. The bed had soft and firm pillows and they were marked on the pillow case to denote the difference. The bed as well seem like it had a soft and firm side. The shower had great water pressure and had great temp too. The closet was cleverly hidden behind the full length mirror. The room was very nice. Breakfast was good also. Had a great stay.

Its a nice place in a good area for our needs on this trip. Everything is nice and clean. My only complaint is the lack of lighting in the restroom. They must have the weakest light bulbs installed in the restroom.

The internet is terrible. If you have any work to do or want to use the internet at all? You are out of luck. I just did a speed test and it was a whopping 1.6 MBPS. TV system is terrible too. If your stay here for work purposes, don t plan on relaxing watching TV in the evenings.

Our room smelled horrible. The mildew and musty smell is so bad that after a long trip we got in bed thinking we would try and switch tomorrow and had to get our room switched at 11pm. We just couldn t sleep with that smell. The person in charge at night was very helpful and showed us every room she had left. They all smelled terrible. We took the one that was the most tolerable. The front staff was phenomenal but the room smell will ruin your stay. If your sense of smell doesn t work this could be a great place for you.

Pros; Check in was fine, personnel were courteous, room was clean, breakfast was awesome. Cons; Had to call maintenance to reprogram TV remote before it would work. Hot tub/spa was out of order, pool was dominated by one large (8) family of energetic children, so we didnt utilize either.

The room was clean but smelt like mold/mildew so bad! The smell was coming from the ac unit, so we turned it off our whole stay. Would rather sweat than breathe the fungus smell. The pool was so cloudy and the jacuzzi was broke. Sounds like its been broke for a while now.....that is ridiculous! Breakfast was good. Beds were hard.

Leftover food left in the fridge from the previous guest. Something exploded on the bathroom door that wasn t cleaned up. No sheets to put on the fold out bed. No remote control to turn the tv on. Absolutely will not stay at a Holiday again.

Nice place... Breakfast was skimpy due to covid but i will return. Although my room was not thoroughly vacuumed and the sofa bed had not been cleaned properly either.... Training the cleaning personnel better should remedy that.

Very friendly desk clerk. Sometimes I deliver with Doordash a couple times or so in one day.. They are super friendly and very inviting and will call up to the rooms if thats what my directions are when delivering.

Room 134 was terrible. There was obvious public hair on the handicapped shower chair. The towel rack was broken and hanging. The shower hose leaked from all point so much, it impossible to take a shower. Supposedly there were no more rooms. The clerk checking us out the next morning tried making excuses for each issue and insinuated that we did not know how to use the shower She refused to give us a receipt and when we demanded that she call her manager she disappeared into an internal office and left us waiting for 20 minutes until we left in frustration. Do not use the Holiday Inn Express and suites in Victoria Texas

Dont leave you valuables in the room! We stayed at the Holiday inn Victoria 3 nights, on our second evening we found our room clean (housekeeper definitely visited our room), but we didnt found one of our belongings that we left on a table. We immediately contacted the front desk and waited to hear back till next evening. On a third day we contacted hotel manager (Alexis) and explained whats happened. She promised to find out, in a couple of hours we got a call from her saying sorry, but it was it. She was polite, but couldnt explain how stuff can disappear from the room. Price of missing thing was around $100. its not only value of missing thing that disappointed us, but realization that your belongings are not safe. Holiday inn want us to be home away from home, but its impossible if guests belongings disappear... Be aware of it...

Comfortable beds and friendly staff. During our (my work crew) stay there breakfast was always available a little earlier during the week. The house keeping crew was always very friendly and thorough. There was plenty of parking as well. It s right off the main highway so it was easy to get to and there were plenty of places to eat.

Convenient location next to the highway. Starbucks and local grocery store HEB are close by. Very friendly check in. The free breakfast was a bonus for our big family. I took off a star because the bathroom looked to have been wiped down with a dirty cloth. I counted 14 human hairs when we came in. I know they would have switched rooms for us but it was midnight and we were tired. When I spoke to the front desk the next morning about it she gave me a discount for the room. Hopefully they will have retrained their cleaning staff by the time you stay.

The hotel was great until the staff robbed my husband blind. His series 4 Apple Watch was stolen, his brand new nikes were stolen, all of his change he had saved to use the facility washers and dryers were stolen. Petty things like his soap, razors, deodorant, a wallflower from bath and body works I had gotten him so his long stay away from home would remind him of home. They tried to make off with his firestick but when I called them on it they miraculously found it behind the tv stand. Great place to stay, just don t take anything inside with you because you may not make it out with it.

Rooms are clean, large, and modern. The beds were Tempur-Pedic and very comfortable with adequate pillows. The location is perfect right off the hwy. and HEB plus is right down the road. The overnight front desk staff member was very helpful in getting our family new sheets and pillows after one of my children got ill.

Dont be in the pool at 10:01 pm otherwise the pool police will make you leave. Breakfast was a joke. They had no scrambled eggs. They ran out of plates and forks. The juice was pure water and pancake machine (although decent) ran out of batter and wasnt replaced. I typically stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and choose not to because I didnt want to pay that price however next time Ill pay the extra. I have to remind myself this Victoria Texas and not a major city where you can expect a higher degree of professionalism.

Ok, this isnt about a stay, but an experience. I have thirty years in hospitality from dishwasher to multi-unit management in luxury resorts. This was probably the second least friendly and least professional place Ive experienced. We rented the meeting room. No confirmation of price or service at check in, just slide your card please. I dont sign blank checks. The room was ready. The coffee was full of grounds. I purposely walked the front lobby and met every employee (at least seven different ones) with eye contact and a smile. I was ignored or avoided. Even by room inspectors. One even looked away and walked around me to avoid contact. We had the room for the day, but not once did anyone check on us. More coffee? No. Is everything alright? No. I went to the mens room, and the light was half out, the TP dispenser unhinged. There was paper on the floor. A maintenance worker went in to use the facilities, and I checked. No clean up, no fix on the dispenser. This is really basic customer service 101. The paint in the room needed work, not major, but any daily inspection should see it. Im glad I worked in the Hilton brands if this is Holiday Inn s idea of service.
