Maybe I m just a hipster cowboy but this is the best bar in San Antonio. This place needs to blow up. Super authentic and sweet vibe. Going back for line dancing this Sunday in the ballroom. Jennifer gave us a little tour of the bowling alley and if this could get up and running again it would be insane. I hope it never changes. This place is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs. Chris behind the bar was super chill. So glad this place exists, just wish it was open more days. A great little charming dive which was exactly what my friends and i were looking for.

Best kept secret in Southtown. I seriously dont want to even post about it on Yelp, but I have to do my due diligence. I went on friday and they had beer specials, kind of like la tuna, but EVEN CHEAPER, no liquor around which is OK. They have pineapple cider, all kinds of beer and TVS. The bartender sometimes shouts out questions and if you guess right, guess what you get? A FREE BEER, shes cool with her hipster hair and cool chill attitude. Didnt catch her name, but she was awesome. The people there were cool too, met a girl who said they have a bowling alley and event center above the bar. They even have snacks, cheap snacks. But the best kept secret is free bar tabs if you win trivia and when we went hardly any one was there so you MIGHT WIN 30 DOLLARS FREE BEER. Dang should I have written this?

This is a great find. Rathskeller is the bar that I have been looking for since I moved to San Antonio. It reminds me of the small Mid-West bars that I frequented. Prices are good. The staff is great. The location is wonderful. I highly recommend this gem for a quiet night out with good company.

Outstanding hidden gem of downtown San Antonio. Filled with character and charm brewing since 1911. Come on Friday nights for a classic fun filled trivia experience. If youre lucky you might get a tour of the premises and if youre really lucky you might even see ghost. One of the best local drinking haunts in town. Highly recommend

Very chill laid back historic establishment. Some say its haunted but not too entirely sure, havent seen any activity as of yet. Only a beer bar unfortunately and cash only but they do have a atm. Pool table and tv is in. Oh and trivia on fridays which is actually pretty fun and you can win a free tab at the bar. Bartenders are awesome! Parking is at the back of the bldg but it is free which is awesome since it is downtown.
