Victoria Country Club has a remarkable history that makes it one of the most fascinating clubs in South Texas. From its humble beginnings in 1924, through fires, gambling raids, classic golf tournaments, and even a plane crash! The Victoria Country Club's interesting past in only outdone by its current beauty. The club was chartered on May 28, 1924 after the purchase of land by E.L. Grunder with 56 original members. A nine-hole golf course was built and play began that year. Various indoor rooms and outdoor spaces of the Victoria Country Club are available for rental for special events. Attended a work event where at venue. It was catered. I didnt eat, but my co-workers and invited guess said the food was really good. Staff packed leftovers in to go containers for us to take home. Has several rooms of varying size to host events. The pool looked so inviting as we arrived. Well kept grounds and building.

Update: 06.28.22: the cart paths have deteriorated a lot, very rough ride. Although some repairs have been made in a few areas. One of the bridges has failed and is unsafe to use. The fairways were decent, but recent heat wave and drought have caused issues. Updates to the club house and facilities have been made and continue including all brand new tennis facilities. Catering has improved; so high hope for VCC to improve by leaps and bounds. 06.18.22: The fairways and greens were in great shape. The cart paths need work though. Finding your way around can be difficult since the holes are not labeled. The map is a bit small to be able to read. Members only unless you rent the facilities.

Always love course conditions when I play and greens are excellent. Staff is always friendly. We used to be members when I was in college. ( Late 90s ) The problem then was there was zero interaction with other members. There were no club golf events to help meet other members and my father and I basically played twice a week for two years and met zero people. Back then colony creak had a mens golf group that held tournaments once a month. We started doing that and soon gave up our membership at VCC just because we had more fun at colony. Course is great though. And Im not sure what they do there for members now.
