Very nice down home, buffet style restaurant with a good variety of choices from southern cooking to Mexican, with the best selection of pies. If you need a good, reasonably priced place to eat in Tyler, you need to try this restaurant.

Found Loggins as we were traveling through Tyler at lunch time. Buffet style country cooking which I love! I had the fried chicken and fish. Homemade tartar sauce was great. Also enjoyed a piece of coconut cream meringue and a cup of coffee. Great experience. Our new go to for lunch when traveling to Dallas.

I have looked high and low, there is not another restaurant that even comes close for turnip greens, black-eyed peas, and the desserts! You cant miss, pick anything, its ALL GOOD!

This place was gross. It seemed super unsanitary, my table was sticky, and the food tasted bad. Even the pies that I tried were not good. (Update: this place made me end up in the bathroom fighting for my life) The staff seemed kind, but not professional. If the place is tangibly unsanitary in the dining area, Im sure the kitchen is worse. Im shocked that this place has good reviews. There are plenty of good buffets, but this is not one of them. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I feel obligated to in this case. Go get some food elsewhere.

Old school chicken fried served with skillet gravy? Yes, please. Always feel like Im one of the family when I walk through the door. Immediately greeted with a Hey! How have you been doing? or Where ya been? if I miss going to lunch one week. As soon as Miss Susie, an absolute Loggins icon by the way, or Maria sees me walking in the dining room, I know theres an ear to ear smile and a big hug a comin. From the new lady at the register (Im sorry I dont know her name) to the kitchen ladies who constantly replenish the buffet line, everyone is just the best. The blueberry buttermilk pie is mmm mmm good!

I ve never experienced racism the way I did today on thanksgiving here. The lady at the cash register was the rudest person and honestly terrifying. The way she treated a Hispanic man by yelling and throwing some bags at him when he just asked for bags to carry his multiple boxes that he paid for was disgusting. She yelled at us for not having a ticket. We weren t familiar with the paying process and were trying to be cooperative. I m not sure why she was so mean and yelling. I m scared to go back here. I hope the lady at the cash register has the day she deserves.

This was a pretty decent hole in the wall place!! I friend of mine came from out of town and wanted some classic American food! The fried fish was really good. The chicken fried steak was pretty good but really greasy. They had a jambalaya type of dish that was pretty decent. Could ve been better. All the vegetables were really good. Salad looked really good as well and they have a huge dessert bar that comes with your meal and you can choose from all kinds of different pieces of pie. I personally had pumpkin pie and it was delicious. Sweet tea Kind of tasted weird like they may be boiled it too long or let it sit out too long but other than that pretty decent experience, the server was actually an older lady and she was very beautiful for her age so that made the whole experience even better.

Eating at Logging is just like sitting down to dinner at my mom table. The only difference is that you get to eat your choice of the meals we had over the week in one sitting. Is the food great? No one on this Earth could cook better tasting meals than my mom, and this food tastes identical! We ate here again yesterday, 2/6/23. It is just the same as before Covid. I am so pleased to be advising everyone that this restaurant is still amazing. Remember, it can get very crowded at lunch time, but they do a fantastic job at taking care of the crowd. Parking can be a challenge due to the popularity of this Tyler, TX landmark!

We love their buffet - chicken fried steak hot and fresh, fried catfish, and fried chicken is their staple, though every day they have specials. Their sides are delicious! Okra, greens, mashed potatoes, salads and more. Oh did I mention dessert? Yummy puddings, pies, and cobblers. Service was awesome - our teas were always filled, table cleared. Worth the visit!

My last visit was on a Thursday. Thursday is all you can eat Mexican, but they also have other items on the buffet as well. Plus, I think you can order from a menu, but I have not done that. I have never been to a buffet that had tamales. Theirs did, and they were not tiny. I barely ate both the ones I got. Also, be very careful with the hot sauce. The red is hot and I was told the green is even hotter but I didnt try it. I didnt need to. And with the red, I only used a tiny tiny bit, and the heat was very noticeable. Some people complain that you only get one dessert included with the buffet. Well, if you eat whats on the buffet, Id be surprised if you could handle more than 1. And, if you dont have room for the dessert, they will let you take that home.

I dont do buffets. I just dont like them in general. But, yall...I make an exception for this one. Its crowded, its congested (on Sunday afternoons when I have been) but the food is good southern, stick to your ribs like grandma used to make! The chicken fried steak is homestyle. My favorite! The catfish is outstanding! The pie??? Oh the choices... delicious and its a buffet so eat all you want if that is your thing.

This is simply the finest country cooking (food & deserts) in East TX... If you dont think so, its because you have not tried it yet... I do not know of any other restaurant (including pies & deserts) in East TX that is overall better...

We were in town for a graduation nearby and we re looking for a good buffet. This place was everything we were craving. Authentic homemade southern cooking. Also the best service I ve had in a while. I would drive a hundred miles for the greens.

Restaurant is filthy and outdated. The buffet table needs to be replaced. All items on the buffet were cold due to warmers not working. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Open 10:30am - 2:30pm. Not fancy, but if you love classic East Texas home cooking this place is for you. Loggins is the real thing, a classic diner that is a slice of old Tyler! And its a buffet! All the classic dishes prepared fantastically as verified by native east Texans who know what theyre talking about. Country fried steak, the thin kind; fried okra, fried catfish and fried chicken are daily affairs with other entrees coming and going. If youre a transplant who hasnt bonded to classic East Texas fare, you can order a hamburger instead of having the buffet. Did I mention that they make their rolls, cornbread and assorted pies FROM SCRATCH! Delicious enough to be devoured by carb conscious women. Loggins is an experience and worth checking out.

Was here a while back... food was lousy. Greasy and under seasoned. Waitress spilled an entire glass of ice water all me, like my shirt was dripping wet, and they wouldnt take a dime off of our bill! This was about 5 years ago and we never returned!

Great place to try if youre visiting Tyler. The food is amazing. The staff is very, very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is a little crowded with seating, but it looks like they can get pretty busy. I highly recommend you come here and try the great food.

The chicken was cold, the pudding left a film in my mouth, my friend bit into a piece of pie and hit something hard. Their food made me throw up.
