This place does not have real catfish. Its cod or something. The place is dingy and dirty. Fries taste like fish and the Cole slaw has too much dressing in it for my taste. Hush puppies were chewy and the shrimp was under cooked. Wont be back.

Catfish was cooked just right only they dont have a salad bar at this place. Staff was gracious and helpful. The place was clean. It seemed that most people went thru the drive-thru window, so it was not crowded at all. I have never liked their french fries, so no surprise there. I just dont like any french fries that are skinny.

Drive thru server sneezed without a mask and did not wash his hands. Nasty. Paris,TX Tyler, Tx: lady taking orders had runny nose and kept wiping with a wore out tissue and never went to wash her hands. Continue to touch money and food. Both unsanitary. Thats just disgusting.

First off, order taker was not very friendly. Inquired about salad bar, since it was listed on the menu. She told us that because of covid, they didnt offer it anymore. Excuse me, covid was over 2 years ago. Other Catfish Kings have salad bars. I get the feeling it is too much trouble for this location. The same person brought our food to us. She was pleasant at that time, even brought plasticware to us. On a very good note, the Cajun catfish was hot and good taste. Salt in the breading would of helped, but that is how it is everywhere. Fries were better than expected. Beans, Cole slaw and relish were definitely Catfish Kings quality. Good stuff! It was a bit warm, a few degrees cooler would of made it less uncomfortable. Too many tables and chairs to allow adequate space for wheelchairs. Handicap parking was changed over to drive-thru parking. We parked there anyway. I think that might be against the law for them not to have parking spaces marked for handicap vehicles. The salad bar was missed, though. Im not sure what happened to this location. The building could use a good remodel. Im not as worried about the building if the food is good, but it was terrible this trip. Nothing had any flavor, needed to use a lot of salt!! Even the cajun fish was bland. For some reason, they did not have the salad bar anymore. The service was sub-par. I dont think we will return to this location. The Mt. Pleasant location is much better.

Catfish King has always been a favoriteplace to eat of mine and my family. My favorite dish is the fried catfish plate. I prefer my catfish to be cooked softer and not crispy. After telling the clerk I wanted soft catfish. She told the cook to cook the catfish soft. When I got my order some pieces of catfish were soft but most of them were crispy. I was disappointed they did not cook my fish order as I requested. I was there on a Saturday night and it was not crowded at all. In fact it was practically empty. I would recommend Catfish King as a good place to eat. But if you dont like your fish cooked crispy be sure to tell them to cook it softer.

Please go back to limited hours if your service is going to diminish. Ordered shrimp, catfish, fries and hush puppies and the only thing fresh was the shrimp. I don t know if you changed the cook or the recipe but the fish and hush puppies were both stale and stiff. The hush puppies didn t taste as they normally do, or the fish, the coating seemed too thick. Not what I was expecting at all. Fries were stale as well. I guess I should have waited in the long line for a better chance of fresh food but decided to come back once seeing that you were now open until 8 instead of 5. Either way I won t be wasting money like I did today for stale food.

The catfish was a little dry but not horrible. A lady they called Grandma griped about everything under the sun. She was very unpleasant to deal with. The building itself needs renovation and updating. The hours here have changed and they are rarely open. According to the sign out front, this place is only open from 11am - 5pm each day. If I were wanting to set myself up for closing the doors permanently, these would be the hours of operation that I would use. Well, hopefully this place will get it together and get back to how they used to be. Only time will tell.

I was there today for lunch and I was charged almost $9 for what appeared to be fillets cut into 3s with a handful of fries. Hubby and each had the seafood platter, and it was amazing!! Oysters and catfish were spot-on, and the shrimp was perfect. Beans and slaw were great, and my potato was cooked perfectly. They were very busy, yet they were fast and efficient. The lady that was bringing food out (manager?) was so sweet and treated everyone like they were the only people in the place. This building has been here forever, but they do a great job maintaining it. Highly highly recommend!
