I have been in Tyler for over five years and finally decided to give Newks a try. The place has a nice dining room and it was pretty busy. I thought the prices were a little steep but waited to see what we would get for the price. It was a little bit of a letdown. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was small. They had a cheddar cheese on it and had a sauce on it that is not Philly cheesesteak at all. I grew up on the East coast I guess I have a skewed opinion. The side salad was really good and a good size as well. I would probably go back and try another salad if the prices were a little better. There was only two of us and we spent just over $32 and didnt even get any drinks.

The staff were friendly and the place was being cleaned (from the lunch rush before)as we were there. The food wasnt bad, but was lacking in flavor due to the lack of roasted garlic. The one thing that set Newks apart, the reason I have ever come to eat here, the only reason Id ever recommend the place is because of the roasted garlic that is supposed to be in their self-service condiments bar. I could understand having that moved to the kitchen for people have to request it... Id even be willing to pay extra for it if I had too but I was told they dont have it at all anymore. I will not return, unless the roasted garlic is brought back. It was so good, its such a shame they arent carrying it anymore.

Terrible Service!!! Can t say how the food was as this was my first visit to Newks. We waited over 45 minutes for our food (2 sandwiches) before having to ask for a refund as it was lunch time. We also had to sit at a dirty table and observed multiple people were waiting on tables to be bussed to sit down. Several got up and left after waiting excessively. There were 3 other people in line for refunds as we were leaving (we also had to wait about 10 minutes for the manager to bother helping us). The manager didn t even apologize and rushed through our interaction because they were behind. They didn t appear to be short staffed. Ridiculous for a weekday lunch!

Grabbed a to go order today, 12/30/23, & it was delicious as always. We love this place. All the employees are very nice as well. Their food is amazing. My favorite dish is the Newks Favorite Salad. This salad is loaded with all-natural chicken, mixed greens, Bleu Cheese, grapes, pecans, artichoke hearts, dried cranberries, croutons. Tossed with sherry vinaigrette. (The pic below does not do the size of the salad justice. Its a huge bowl!). My wife loves their chicken salad sandwich, and Caesar Salad. They have some of the best sweet tea around. Give them a try!

The food is pretty good to average. On my visit I ordered a roast beef dip and pasta, included with sandwich. (The small container had like 3 bites).The wife had soup with Mac and cheese. Also 2 drinks. The total was OVER 30.00 dollars! Wow a sandwich and 2 small sides with drinks. I think it way over priced for just average food, I have have better from a dam food truck.

As a forewarning, the management here has gone so far as to put signs up telling delivery partners to complete orders on their behalf, primarily making drink orders for them. Delivery partners are not paid by restaurants to make any part of the order, drinks included, and for liability and health code reasons, are not allowed to do so. Which is why most establishments seal drinks with either tape, or a sealed bag. Delivery support has repeatedly backed us on this. We are not responsible for making any part of the orders and this, we should not assume liability by doing so. Delivery partners are often paid solely in tips and gas fees, to deliver your completed meals safely. With that in mind, I highly discourage anyone from supporting restaurants that think its acceptable to push their job off on other people.

Great food if you can ever get your order. I give them the benefit of the doubt every time i place a curbside order and have to go in myself to get it every time after allowing them almost an hour to bring it to me and checking in twice. Each time I was told that they would be right out. When I went inside to get the order, there was hardly anyone in the restaurant.. so i m not sure what took so long. This happens every time I order curbside and it won t happen again. Edit: Once I got my food, it was cold from sitting on the shelf the whole time I was waiting on them to bring it to me. I wanted to like you... I just went to Newks in Denver Colorado the day before yesterday and it was great. I come here and... Well, Im not sure Ill ever be back. I have been eating at Newk s since 2013. And even though I may not make it to their side of town often, when I do it s always a treat. I became a big fan of their cauliflower crust pizza! Love their salads and sandwiches also (favorite Italian) All of their food is super fresh and hot always, no lie. Here recently I visited to redeem a piece of cake for my birthday (red velvet) I literally made myself sick because I ate the whole piece. We hadnt eaten here in awhile and decided to try the skip the line and order ahead on the app. We were not disappointed! There was a line out the door of people waiting to place their order. We went straight in to the shelf, grabbed out meal, got a drink and sat down to eat. Saved us at least 15 mins which is HUGE during a small window for lunch time. Id never had a hot pimento cheese sandwich before, and I feel cheated. I adore Newks! They always have delicious meat free options for me and they do not shy away from flavor. I have never been disappointed by my food or my service. My ONLY complaint is the lack of Orangina, a personal favorite, from the beverage cooler now Vegetarian options: Quite a few clearly marked choices. HORRIBLE! Our experience here was absolutely horrible. After placing a delivery order, our food was delivered over an hour later - we only received 2 of the 7 entrees that were part of our order. After calling the store and demanding they remake my order, I drove 20 minutes to the store just for them to give me the remainder of the original order - I do NOT believe that they remade anything, and they did not remake the 2 items that had been delivered. I guess they expected us to eat food that would have been sitting around for more than 2 hours by the time we would get home with the rest of the food and eat. They were not willing to refund any money since it was a delivery order and facilitated through Door Dash, even though I ordered directly from Newks app and it did not indicate anywhere that Door Dash was responsible for the delivery. We were waiting in the restaurant for more than 20 minutes between talking to Taylor, waiting 10 minutes + for her to get us the phone number for the Ops Manager, then waiting for them to remake the two salads. We drove 20 minutes back home just to realize they made one of the sandwiches incorrectly - it was not supposed to have cheese due to the person having an intolerance and there was cheese all over it, so that person was unable to eat. I called the store again and they would not remake another sandwich and have it delivered - I would have had to drive 20 minutes each way to pick it up and may not have made it there in time before they closed. I called the Ops Manager and he did nothing either. I have never had an issue at a Newks before and I am not from Tyler, so this was the first and only time I have eaten here, but this was a horrible experience and I will never eat at another Newks again. I took the survey and am awaiting a call from either the Ops Manager or District Manager to discuss this issue. DoorDash submitted a request to Newks about getting our order refunded, and I am still waiting on that to come through. My family was together for a baby shower and was expecting the convenience of our dinner being delivered would allow us more time at our airbnb together rather than having to leave to go get dinner - that backfired and caused a major issue since it took almost 3 hours for us to eat, and for someone to have to order food from somewhere else to be delivered since her sandwich was inedible. The restaurant team did not seem interested in being helpful, instead they deferred blame to the DoorDash driver who told us that she questioned the order she was picking up because it appeared to be incomplete and they told her that it was correct. There needs to be accountability and at this point, I expect a phone call from somebody to make this right. Simply refunding the order and moving on is not enough.

This place works differently in how your order and pick your meals. Best option is to use their app for ordering which gives you detailed choices with discounts also. I ve worked here twice and I enjoy it. Great team members and I especially enjoyed the food. There are people who come in early in the morning daily to get food prepared to make sure it s fresh. The area spaces are clean and the managers are helpful. Not to forget to mention the great boss we had. My favorite food was the margarita pizza, Newks favorite, potato soup, chili soup (usually came in the winter), chicken salad sandwich, and the turkey avocado sandwich, just to name a few. Anyways there are many great options to choose from and I d say try them all!!

I ordered the shrimp po boy. The sandwich came with lettuce, tomato, pickles and red onions. I dont like pickles or red onions so they were left off the sandwich. Well, the sandwich was bland and the shrimp were very rubbery. Cocktail sauce was provided and it was very good. Maybe taking the pickles and red onions off the sandwich was a mistake. Took our order and never delivered the food. To their defense, their POS was down, but everyone that ordered at the same time as us got their food. Since there isnt a wait staff, no one bothered looking into the number that had been seated for a suspiciously long time. Might try going back, but its doubtful

New edit from a year ago. We come here alot, just havent left a review in a while. They have finally figured out how to work the thermostat because it is now comfortable here. Labor is a challenge everywhere...messed up our order and everyone elses around us. Christmas eve, maybe short staffed and maybe ready to close early. Well still come back but cmon, pay attention. Last review Its always way too cold for the customer. Same great service and food but it is never a good temp to enjoy a meal.

Called Newk s the day before to make sure they could accommodate my group. Then, out of courtesy, we called an hour before arrival so they could start our order. The manager argued with us, and refused to take our business. Go to Torchy s instead. They got us in last minute, and kept us on schedule.
