We were seated immediately. After our order was taken, we were brought bread and butter and our drinks. It took less than 15 minutes and everything we ordered was accurate. Our waitress served our food, checked back with us. I noticed she (our waitress) kept a constant watch of our drinks and empty plates.. My mother is 96 and is very particular about everything she eats. She was so happy she asked why had we never gone there before. I told her we had eaten there many times, but not in Tyler. We will be going back there since we go to Tyler now once a month. The menu has many options. The prices were good, great service, temperature and portioning of foods was excellent. We will definitely be back again.

I dont leave many reviews. This place is OUTSTANDING. Hot, hot appetizers, large portions, complimentary rolls with cinnamon butter. The server is extremely attentive and polite. Sat quickly, clean bathroom. Temperature of restaurant was perfect (some are too dang cold)!! Chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Very enjoyable experience. They even have a value menu with WIDE variety. Chicken n dumplins - WOW. Only complaint - aint one in Houston. Not one thing I wish was improved. Kid-friendliness: Steak fingers are legit.

We really enjoy eating here as the food is as close to homemade as one can get eating out these days. Plus, they have a great $9.99 lunch special. We were fortunate to get Molly as our server again. Shes very friendly and has that great balance between checking on you during your meal but not so much as to interrupt visiting with family. She s waited on my wife and I a couple of times and my mom and I on occasion. She makes it a pleasant dining experience.

I used to work there until tonight. I got home and my fiance found hair fried into our chicken fried steak. I clocked out from training and they put my food in for to go. I waited over 40 minutes for my chicken fried steak with a side of hair. I QUIT!!!!!!!!! THE KIDS THEY HAVE HIRED THERE ARE RUDE AND TREAT PEOPLE HORRIBLE. The general manager is the nicest person in the world and it breaks my heart to have to do this, but Goodbye I deserve better and know my worth, good thing I had an assistant manager position waiting for me at a local store. I brought my daughter to eat here because Ive visited other locations and they were wonderful, unfortunately the food here was not good we ordered the salmon and tilapia which Ive ordered at the other location and it was literally like paste absolutely horrible and I also think they should educated staff better including management on exactly how customer service works when I brought up my concerns about the meal the manager argued that thats how fish is, since I eat fish regularly I know better but just the attitude she gave was unacceptable as far as customer service is concerned. We will not be returning I would of let the food slide as a bad day but the attitude is clearly something shes been allowed to get comfortable with.

I dont really leave reviews often but I was severely disappointed with this place and will not be coming back. If I could give it less than one star I would. I ordered salmon with rice, shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. The Salmon was mushy and when I tried to bring up the issue the manager was very dismissive as if I did not know what salmon was supposed to taste/feel like. I love salmon. It is actually my favorite fish. However, I have had better fish from Walmart. Also the mac and cheese was dry. Between the dismissive staff and mediocre at best food, I will not be returning. The restaurant is cute though.

I just had probably the worst chicken fried steak I have ever had at cotton patch cafe. The steak itself tastes ok, but half of it was just batter. The chicken fried steak looks big at first, but there is a good portion around the steak that is just empty batter, and the batter was flimsy and not crispy like chicken fried steak should be. After finishing the steak there was a good portion of just batter still on my plate. (see photo) I like cotton patch cafe overall, I think they do have some good food, but I will definitely never order a chicken fried steak from them again!

I love Cotton Patch, I really do. This is the first time I have visited the tyler location. 70% of my steak was overcooked, 10% undercooked, and 20% was just right. I ordered medium rare bacon wrapped filet. My broccoli was well over cooked. The loaded mash was ok. The waitress was afraid or something to come to the table standing 5 feet away while taking orders and just checking on us. She didnt seem to pay much attention to us either. I will return to the one in athens, the food is better, the staff is great, and overall, I have a better experience.

The food from Cotton Patch is always wonderful. Ive never had a complaint about it. Meatloaf isba favorite of ours. And the Dr.Pepper cake is amazing! The server who assisted me was on the ball and verified my instructions about bagging one of the meals separately. I only ordered for pick up and didnt dine in, so all I can say about the atmosphere is that the floors were sticky, and the pickup counter could have used a wipe down. The kitchen, storage areas, and floor behind the counter, from what I could see, appeared disorganized and messy. It used to be a favorite restaurant of mine when I worked in Tyler, but now it seems old and run down. I am disappointed to say that it reminds me now of Grandys. Great home cooking, but a messy, run-down environment. As long as the food doesnt suffer, I will still buy dinners here whenever I come to Tyler.

It wasn t busy. The BBQ CHICKEN salad was NOT chicken. No idea what the meat was (chicken fried steak?), but it wasn t chicken. Just bizarre. The waitress was very good. We won t be back.

I ordered the Meatloaf meal with mash potatoes and broccoli cheese casserole!! Everything was delicious!!! The portions of food was good! I had a pick up order when I got there no waiting my food was ready! I live 15 minutes away and when I got home my food was still warm and fresh! I m very pleased with Cotton Patch, I ll definitely will be coming back soon!

We ordered the chicken fried steak but the meat was pounded thin enough, it was hard to chew. The salad tasted like it was from a bag, the beef tips was more like a dry pot roast. The okra was delicious . The food didnt seem worth 18 dollars. We wont be back as its not quality food for the price.

I would not recommend ordering the chips and queso unless it s just for 1 person. Paid almost $9 for prob 2 oz of queso and literally prob 20 chips. Called them to ask if it was a mistake and the girl told me no it s all pre portioned ahead of time and that s what you get . Fried green tomatoes were amazing though.
