If you plan on taking cute pictures of your little ones or family here, at this PUBLIC place...DONT! I know, people have been taking pictures here for decades, I even took my own senior pictures here 13 years ago. But, according to a miserable worker at the museum, it is illegal. He threatened us with calling in CHILD ENDANGERMENT on us for having my childs 1 yr photoshoot here this morning. Us taking pictures was far worse than the vagrants and trash lying around everywhere? According to this miserable, bored old man. My baby still got her pics, but the entire photoshoot was cut short. (I will add, I dont think the homeless people are bothering anyone either, but come on...)

Stop there if you pass through. Very friendly curator. You can see an original Rail Operator Manual from the 50 s. Locally hand crafted wood trains are fantastic. You can see the original Operator s Control Board.

Interesting place that is worth a few minutes of ones time if one is into historical trains. I know that the costs of maintaining rolling stock exceed ticket income in most places but the City should offer another angle down memory lane.

Small, but jam packed with memories, functional items, and trinkets of railroads of the past. Our volunteer guide was very knowledgeable, and you could tell he loved spending time there. Ask about the story of the baggage wagon right inside the main entrance when you go.

This is a very quaint train museum in downtown Tyler. Its tucked a little bit off Broadway, but is unmistakable. The museum itself is pretty small, but there are A LOT of items of interest. They have three large electric train sets set up that kept my energetic 4-year-old engaged for quite a while. They also have an old telegraph machine, lots of pictures and other historic items. Definitely worth the visit!

This is an interesting small museum. Model Train Collectors would love this place. It is located next to a train track that is still active, so chances are good that you will get to see a real train,, `up close and personal. It really is a lot different than sitting in your car, watching a train roll by. It is also a neat place to learn a little bit about local history, and general railroad history all in one stop!!!
