We really like the new location for the fair. There was plenty of room and we never felt packed in like previous years. The vendors and staff were friendly and helpful. Only drawback was the gravel was loose in places that made using a wheelchair difficult at times.

Next year theyll have it paved and with sidewalks. My actual issue is their being political tables and religious tables in the market area. These opinions and beliefs have no business being at a fair. Kind of sad they took up places vendors with actual merchandise and hand made items could have used. Other than this unnecessary propaganda, we enjoyed ourselves.

Parking was poor. Knew they would not get this done in time and waited to the last minute as usual with anything associated with Tyler. Walking on caliche type rock on top of rooted soil was very difficult if not dangerous for leg, knee or foot injuries. Ticket booths crowded but moved well. No offering on weekends to veterans, seniors or first responders, who don t have the luxury to attend on a specific days during the week. Price of tickets too high for a poor fair offering. Fair grounds with the same walking surface from the parking area. The fair itself was poorly laid out and very small. Extremely limited exhibits and exhibitors, possibly related to not enough planning and/or waiting to the last minute to assemble. Coupon/Ticket booths located in one area. Lines were very long to purchase coupons, then had to get in another long line to redeem purchase .very frustrating and just another example of poor planning. Rides were filthy and poorly kept. Expected as much since the operators looked like the condition of the rides. The cost/coupons for each ride were very expensive. Expect to spend minimum of $100 bucks just on rides for one child. Location may have been better, just not enough time utilized to prepare for this event. Rides at the mall parking lot would get a higher score than this event. City of Tyler should be ashamed with this event. Maybe they can get better for next year, if they start right now. I doubt it, since we never learned from the reviews or mistakes. Very disappointed.

Best corn dogs in East Texas! The wristband $37 definitely worth it! $12 dollar admission but on we went on Friday when admission was free before 2pm for lunch. They have free parking off Patton Lane. Of course you always gotta get a funnel cake and some ribbon fries which were always made fresh to order. Their new location has WAY more space, just don t wear sandals, there s nothing but dirt.

Small town fair. Can easily see everything in 2 hours. Parking lot is the worst I have ever seen. You need a pickup truck to get through the parking lot. Very dusty and dirty. The fair itself is ok. Remember it s a small town fair. One food vendor should be closed down. He was touching food with his sweaty dirty hands for nachos. Glove only on one hand. Extremely nasty.

Love the East Texas State Fair, I have went every year since I was being pushed in a stroller and I am now 47 yrs old, for the best fair food, turkey legs, sausage on a stick, freshed squeezed lemonade, and some of the juiciest hamburger you ever will sink your teeth in, and so much more , All the exhibits and good deals , and of course the thrills of the rides and games , so much fun for family and friends, absolutely love the smells of the fair and the fun atmosphere. And the time of the year is the best!

As a senior citizen and lifetime resident of Tyler,Tx, I visited the fair at 11:30 AM. My usual trek is to eat the food and get the wonderful pie at the Lutheran food booth. As usual the pie was great. Then after eating, I look at the exhibits. Bul all the doors were locked! After inquiring, I was told that exhibit buildings would not be opened until the fair gates are officially opened at 2PM. Apparently a new decision someone made. The elderly and challenged, both children and adults who cannot come when it is crowded have been denied the privilege of seeing the exhibits. Many of these people have to be escorted to the fair and are dependent on caregivers to help them. These buildings should be open for the elderly and special needs people to see.

Great food. Plenty of options. Friendly people. We took my grandmother and she lived it. Wheelchair accessible and where it was hard to get her down, a nice person would help us to get her down smoothly. It was early on a weekday, so it wasnt too crowded. Ill probably go back and take my nieces and nephews. There were even several sanitizing stations. You could tell that it was well-planned.

Trash. BMX stung show was lame, sea lion show very cool to watch and learn, food prices lot higher than other fairs. Extremely small, waste space building new indoor area and not using, concert stage was way to smal. Being fair before this year, it has gone down hill significantly, and waste of money, 2 different people selling gutters, 2 selling show cleaners, no stock animals (already gone) .

Three stars because its becoming more and more expensive. Prices this year were very high most food was around $10 drinks around $6 . . beer was a dollar an ounce. Besides that the rides were fun but also expensive. All the games wanted $5 or more per play which was very expensive as well. At least the family had fun although we spent better than $300. I may reevaluate even going to the fair next year.

Over the years we have come here a lot. This year was absolutely the worst I have ever seen. We had just bought two all-day tickets and it started pouring rain. I mean within one minute. So we turn to the lady at the same booth that we haven t even left yet and ask for another day pass credit. They said no. Grant, you this was while we are still standing in the place we just bought the tickets!!!! Those jerks refused and slammed the booth widows in everyone s face. One couple had not even got their ticket and just bought their passes. They are absolutely rude, unbelievable unprofessional, and we felt like they just stole about two hundred bucks between me and the other couple. They knew We never even got to use them. We just wanted to trade for another day. The one couple was so upset and they yelled that they would call the police if everyone didn t leave!!! What a joke. Will never go back again.
