I knew going in BBQ is expensive. $53.43 for 2 sandwiches,four sides, 2 iced teas, and 2 deserts. The chilled sides are self serve and you are expected to know to get them from the cooler before you get to the counter to order the type of meat you want on your untoasted average grocery store bun. We had chopped brisket. Not especially good. Strong smoke taste. Dry and the 2 choices of sauce are MEH . They are on the tables in bottles with liquor style dispenser spouts. The sauce will not come out of. Others were pulling them off to pour the sauce. The sides: beans are a no. canned two kinds of beans mixed together with mystery seasoning, I wouldnt get them again. The coleslaw was okay. The potato salad was the highlight of the meal. Reminiscent of moms German potato salad. Desert: banana pudding was not bad. The seating . Im 68 yrs old. 6ft 2in tall 245 lbs. Folding metal chairs that are great if you are in preschool. Way too low to the floor. Theres a large gas station thats got a better sandwich for less $$. Not a fan... Try it for yourself, if I am too harsh.... Its because I have cooked tons of bbq a place thats been open since the early 1970s. Wheelchair accessibility: Thumbs up for accessibility...

The staff yesterday on the 26 of August were wonderful. I came in knew my order, was able to place it, then run to the bathroom quickly, and the family meal was ready. They were quick and efficient, all smiles, and willing to help. Even the cook greated people as he noticed them coming in. This was my first visit in a long time! Also shout out to the young lady at the order/check out counter for finding my car keys

My husband and I make this a regular stop when we are in tyler but the last several times we had eaten there is was terrible and its too expensive not to enjoy...so we stopped going..we were in tyler last week and we were hungry so we tried it and let me tell you..the food was excellent...the staff was excellent...stopped by our table and asked how everything was...wth..thats never happened!! Anyhow, I know its hard to keep staff and be excellent all the time but I enjoyed spending this $50 bill!! Thanks!!! Kid-friendliness: Big place..big tables..kids welcomed

Person charged me for double meat. And only had one serving of meat. Then me.and co worker got sick from here. I use to love this bbq place but after being over charged and getting sick I wont eat here even if its free. One pic is my coworker who got the same as I did but with a different cashier. First time coming in and most likely the last. It was between this place and Juicys next door. I decided to give Rudys a chance. Not the best choice. I like pork, with pulled pork sandwiches being my favorite, so thats what I ordered. I should have known it was going to be seriously lacking when I saw them remove it from a warning pan with an ice cream scoop and then spread it in the bun. Pulled pork is one of the easiest BBQ items to make, but this just looked like soggy mush on a bun. Gave it a try anyways and I was disappointed with the bland soggy meat. BBQ sauce helped with flavor, but not enough. The baked beans were about the only flavorful thing. They were good, with just a hint of spice. When checking out, the computer asked for a tip...... I gave one thinking service would be good. NOPE..... I tipped, but regretted it after I sat down. You have to clean your own table and put your own tray and trash away. Not complaining as its no big deal to clean up after myself, but with the cost of the food and the request for a tip, I want expecting it to be a full self service restaurant. Lesson learned. Tipping culture has gotten way out of hand. Welp, guess I can mark Rudys off my list of must tries. Dont plan to be back for the price and lack of flavor I received.

When a friend heard we were passing through Tyler, TX, he told us to eat at Rudy s BBQ and it did not disappoint! The brisket and pulled pork were juicy and tender, but the star of the show was the green chili stew! It was so good and unlike anything I ve ever eaten. The staff were incredibly friendly and answered all our questions, letting us know what their favorite items to eat were. I d recommend eating here!

Casual atmosphere, good prices, excellent food. Needed someplace quick to stop on the loop in Tyler. Employees were very friendly. It was my first time eating at Rudys. Nothing fancy, but hey, its BBQ. All you need is for the food to taste good, and it was. I had the turkey sandwich with potato salad and coleslaw for sides. My boyfriend had the brisket baked potato and beans. I tried his. Enjoyed everything I tried. Stanleys is still my favorite but Rudys is a good second option when were in Tyler. Dietary restrictions: Be careful. The pulled pork has dairy in it. Glad I checked the online menu before ordering. Check the online nutritional chart if you have restrictions.

Well started out as a really bad experience , we were given a gift card with $25 on it , ordered went to pay and told 0 balance. I had juat checked the card, the young man argued that ut was zero so we paid cash, later Deanna ( a manager) asked how ut was going, we told her and she went to check and cane back and said there was indeed $25 on it. It was my first visit. The taste of the BBQ was excellent. The ordering process and seating is different than most places. It is like a cafeteria. You might be seated by someone you dont know. The staff guided me along. While ordering, you can request samples of the different varieties of meats. When you receive your order you can add different items to it like peppers and onions. The atmosphere is interesting. There are old advertising signage and memorabilia on the interior walls.

Did the drive thru last night. The Pulled Pork and regular Brisket was awesome! Beans were not my favorite, the coleslaw was a bit dry and 6 pickles for 2 lbs of meat did not seem quite right. There was a slight mix up with the order once it was delivered, but a quick call to them and they fixed it immediately. There brisket is every good and their sausage links are really good too, I loved there baked potato, it had a lot of cheese, sour cream, meat, butter, will go again with my family
