How can you not love a safe place for your kids to play for free? There are picnic tables,splash pad and a little play ground for the littles and a bigger one for the bigger kids. Every time Ive been there the people are really either friendly or quietly polite. The only thing is the bathroom is, use at your own risk. I once walked into a poopy flood and unfortunately I was wearing canvas shoes, not a good thing. There is an ice cream man and sometimes the Kona Ice truck is parked next to other food trucks and I have never been bitten by a mosquito there yet so that makes me happy.

We participated in a dance recital there this past weekend. The stage and park are great, however, the heat backstage was really terrible, especially with only 2 areas to change in and no fresh air coming in. If you are adding to the park, some kind of ventilation would be a great addition...that, and perhaps another restroom building on the other side of the park. The restrooms were hot and filthy. Im certain contributors could raise the money to add these much-needed additions....even if it meant closing up the stage area at night to keep vandalism out.

This is a great park overall that hosts frequent events with a playground, amphitheater, plenty of picnic tables, and lots of wide open space between big shade trees. The amphitheater was recently renovated and the fountain in the park is currently being worked on. Its a good place to visit with family and its along the azalea trail in the historic Azalea District.

Its a big park, its really beautiful. There are sections a smaller jungle gym for small ones. And a huge one for the bigger kids. It an ease of mind, you dont have to worry that you little will get trampled by a bigger kid. Dogs are allowed. And they do have bathrooms.

This park is very well maintained. My 8 year old son and I go there all of the time and we have never seen the park unkempt nor have we felt unsafe in any way. The stream going through the middle does need to be cleaned up and done landscaping done but its otherwise a great place to go and play with your little ones. Plenty of shade in the summer also. I highly recommend taking your kids there.

I gave the park five stars because it is a beautiful park and is always clean but it is not for small kids anymore. I have a 5 and 4year old and my 5 year old had a hard time climbing up the paly scapes my 4 year old who is a crawler couldnt reach the play scapes at all due to the height of the steps and there not being any safe way for him to climb up. I love that they reinvented the park and the ampatheater but its no longer small kid friendly.
