We are new to the area and just found Southern Ice Co. I told the hostess we were rookies and she was amazing. Our server was fine but the hostess was great. The food was very good. If you looking for a good meal with nice drinks stop in and give them a try. We had fried pickles, pork sliders and buffalo chicken Mac and cheese everything was delicious.

Lo, upon entering this tavern, I found myself in a realm where Bacchus himself wouldst take delight. The ale flowed as rivers of ambrosia, and the wine oh, sweet nectar! doth sing sonnets upon the tongue. The barkeep, a noble soul, dost pour with the grace of a courtier and the swiftness of Mercury. First time in. No wait so seated immediately. Server took initial drink order quickly and water was brought. Wait for a single draft beer was close to 20 minutes. Ordered food and waited...and waited. Approximately 30 minutes for a burger and fried chicken. Burger was warm, not hot. Chicken temperature was one level out of the refrigerator. Something I would accept if I was on a picnic but not in a restaurant. Informed our server and he offered to have it remade but I declined as I was hungry and after the wait I didnt want to risk another 30 minutes or more. To their credit, the manager on duty came to the table and apologized for the issues, providing a $25 gift card so we would return to give them another chance. Overall food was 2 stars, 1 star for the kitchen, 4 stars for service (not their fault) and 5 stars for management.

The food and service were good. Not much of an atmosphere, in my opinion, but its not my kinda place. Im sure its great if you like a sports bar type place. We enjoyed ourselves. Vegetarian options: They have a black bean patty available for burger substitution. I liked mine, but as typical for a black bean patty, it fell apart. I still enjoyed the flavor! I wish there was a way to make a vegetarian patty that would hold together.

This is my 3rd time here and have not had any issues. I tried the smash burger with tots along with a southern lemonade. Very good!!! I am back again! I recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich it is really good. Not too spicy but great flavor.

Great sports bar/restaurant by the same owner as the adjacent fine dining steakhouse The Refuge. Our server was attentive, as was the bartender that brought over our drinks. The draft beer tap list is very Texas-centric, with some of the top local brews available, as well as several popular macro beers. She had the chicken quesadilla, enough for two meals (literally) and I had the bacon and blue burger. Since they hand cut their steaks at the steakhouse, the trimmings go into their burger, so it s a mix of tenderloin, ribeye, and NY strip. Literally a steak burger. Apparently when they are in season, they do boiled crawfish specials, that s on the agenda now. Great place to bring your Little League or soccer team, or to hang out with buddies watching the College World Series or a football game.

Southern Ice Co. is the perfect spot for sports fans, especially if youre a Houston Astros fan! I had an incredible time watching the game on their big screens with a lively and enthusiastic crowd. The Fried Chicken Sandwich is phenomenal crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap is equally impressive, with just the right amount of kick. The service was top-notch, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Whether youre here for the food or the sports, Southern Ice Co. is a great experience all around!

This was our first trip to Southern Ice Co. You might as well know now, this meets my Would you do it again? test. If this helps, they are located where the old Fuddruckers restaurant use to be, just off Kuykendahl Rd. in Crossroads Square at Creekside Park. Lets get this out of the way first: there is plenty of well-lit parking, and the restaurant and bathrooms are clean. When we walked in, we found the interior area remodeled to create a spacious feel. The restaurant is family friendly, and so is the wait staff. We were greeted by a chorus of hellos and smiles. Caitlyn was our server. She has only been there three weeks as I write this review, but she did an excellent job. She answered our questions with a smile and took our order quickly and correctly. Never hovering, but there just when you needed her with a friendly smile and a welcoming manner. Made you feel right at home. The menu was varied. quesadillas, fried pickles, and Southwest egg rolls were just a view of the appetizers. The meal choices are just as varied. Queso Skillet (which I plan to try soon), wings, salads, wraps, burgers -- the list goes on. They have a kids menu, too. My wife had the Fried Chicken Ranch salad. I had the Southern Smashburger. We found them delicious. For dessert, we enjoyed the Peach and Berry Cobbler, topped with Vanilla Custard (the vanilla custard is like ice cream). All in all, it was a great first experience. We WILL be back.

SOOOO GOOD! My fiance and I have been here several times!!! I try something new each time. My fiance loves their smash burgers. Their chicken is to die for. Food was cooked perfectly and with good portions, but was just very bland. We ordered fried chicken, chicken sandwich, and two of the three kids meal options. Seemed like the chicken was cooked perfectly and moist but fell really flat in taste. Kids meals seemed to be on the pricier side. I dont know that we would come back because the flavor just wasnt there.

Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly! The service was really good and the atmosphere was nice! We ordered pretzel bites - salty and the cheese dip is not spicy. signature burger - they didn t ask how to cook it but they cooked it medium and it was super juicy. I also subbed the side for Brussel sprouts and they are super good! It was probably equivalent to a half order of the appetizer. I highly recommend them! The fried pickles on the southern burger were really good, I would definitely order them as an appetizer! The Mac n cheese tasted like cafeteria Mac and that s how my husband likes it but not my preference! Last item pictured is the fried shrimp & catfish with red beans and rice and grits. We can t wait to return!!

Ive been 4 times now. Twice for lunch and twice for cocktails. I found the food to be quite good. I love the buffalo sauce. And the lunch service was good. Not so much with the bar service. I was in last night and it was empty, but still had to wave down the bartender to get a drink. He was on his phone and very much looked like he felt too cool to be tending bar in Creekside. Note to self ... Tailgators is just down the street.

I love everything about this place. I have no complaints. The owner of the place will most likely even greet you to make sure you re happy with your experience. The food is delicious the beer is cold and the bar stools will put you to sleep comfortable. We had a great time.

I stopped in for a late lunch with a good friend on a Monday afternoon, and we were seated and served by a sweet, Southern waitress, Blake. We started off with the SoCO Trio: Fried Pickles, Wings (we got boneless), and Nachos (we added the brisket). Everything on the Trio was served hot and delicious. I especially LOVED the fried pickles which were crispy, and the white queso and brisket on the thin chip, LOADED nachos. Not to worry, we got our veggies in too and split the nuts and berries salad. (half shown in picture) It was fresh and tasty! We polished everything off with the oh-so-creamy custard, which the Southern Ice Co. has brought in from Connie s Custard. We ordered vanilla but noticed that there are some really decadent choices available. Charlie s Cookie Sandwich sounds amazing! It was a little early for us on the drinks front, but the bar looked like a lot of fun. I am excited to bring the whole family back to this new spot. Great friends, plus great food, at affordable prices, you can t go wrong!

Stopped by for a quick New Year s Day lunch and to watch the end of the LSU football game. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted and asked if we were there to watch something in particular so they could help us find a good spot. There are several places to sit and watch the games, if that s why you re there! I like that they play the sound of the game throughout the restaurant. We didn t try any drinks but our food was delicious and our server was very attentive and friendly. Overall a good experience and a very nice place for a quick bite or to watch sports!

Great attempt at a sports bar / family restaurant. Service was quick and servers were attentive. Definitely got some good strong drinks and flavorful cocktails. Great place to sit by the bar and enjoy some appetizers. And that will be it for me next time. Entree we ordered needed some extra TLC. Was really looking forward to my Nashville hot fried chicken and red beans and rice. Chicken arrived extra greasy, bland, and the Nashville hot was anything but. Was really hoping for some good flavors and crunchy chicken given the Southern name. Tried redemption by dessert but those were just ok. Even the famous custard just hit like regular ice cream. Just bar drinks and appetizers next time.

We did Carryout curbside. The food was excellant. For carryout it was organized, hot, and well prepared. I got the fish and sweet potato fries wth a salad, hushpuppies, and a dessert and it all was excellantly prepared and tasty. We also got a cheesburger, fries, pretzel bite appitizer and another dessert which as equally great. Pricing wise, I wouldnt call it cheap, but for alll the food we received, around 100.00 would be competitively priced. And we had leftovers which I also ate the next day. Parking: Plenty of curbside spots right in the front door area

We went to Southern Ice co. for the first time tonight and I can definitely say we will be back. The drinks were good and the food was great. My fiancé had a Jack and Coke, I had a southern spritz(their version of an aperol spritz) and they were very well done. We started with the fried pickles. They were lightly breaded, which I enjoyed, and served with comeback sauce. I wasn t a huge fan of the sauce but my fiancé really enjoyed it. For entrees, I ordered the salmon with fries and a side salad. It was some of the best salmon I ve had. It was tender, juicy and very flavorful. The fries were honestly the best part of the entire meal. My fiancé had the tomato bacon grilled cheese and he said it was great. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back.

Southern Ice Co. has a great atmosphere! Something we needed in the area. Our table ordered the fried pickles, three different types of burgers, and Charlie s cookie for dessert!! Crafts and Cocktails from the bar came out in a timely manner. The food and service were great, we even had managers stop by and ask how everything is. We definitely will be back for game days and family get togethers. It is a warm place for family and friends to be!!

Have been waiting for this place to open. Tried on their first day of opening. The good: Spicey Margarita, pretzel bites, and cinnamon balls. The Needs Improvement : Southern Comfort chicken was bland. Rice seemed instant and had crispy rice pieces. Service was good. The device to pay the bill had some issues and took a bit of time to close out. In summary good spot. Will definitely try again but will wait for kinks to work out

I ve been waiting for a while for Southern Ice Co to open and it did NOT disappoint! I brought my fiancé out yesterday for the opening day, the coconut shrimp and their Porch Swing drink was a great start leading into their crispy fried chicken sandwich! New nice spot in Creekside. Inside looks nice and food is good. Would not recommend the Red Beans and Rice. Very bland. Rice seems like instant rice and beans close to refried beans from a can. Business is new but the servers need a bit more knowledge of the menu. We knew more of the menu from social media but looking for the personal interaction. Main issue was the $6 each charge for a single scoop of Connies Custard when Connies charges $4.57 for a Jumbo. Suggestion would be to add a mini scoop option for the kiddos at a much more resonable price and/or include with the kids meal. Will visit again and hopefully staff can speak more of the menu, specials, or options for substitution. Just giving an honest review as yall are new.
