I really wish El Chaparro would invest in sound proofing for the ceiling of the restaurant. The room echos and is very loud everytime I done there. Its almost impossible to have a conversation. Love the poblano enchiladas. The green sauce with chips is the best. Not a fan of the red sauce. Always good food.

So Im sure people like chewy cheese enchiladas but it is a deal breaker for me. I am a fan of a creamy cheese enchilada. With the chewy style it seems to me that the cheese just grows as you chew it. Everything else was pretty good though for us. Maybe just have to try other menu items if we were to go back.

My husband and I were excited to try a new restaurant. The chips were good, the salsa was tasty and my rootbeer tasted like rootbeer. Good start. Welp...it ended there. We order the queso blanco with the carne. It was tasteless with the consistency of paste. My husband ordered enchiladas with the green sauce and chicken and he said it was very very spicy (he lived in Mexico City and knows spicy) and I ordered the enchiladas with sour cream sauce and beef fajita meat. Everything from the beans, the sauce, the meat and rice was completely tasteless...lol and no I do not have covid. When I took a little of everything on my plate the only way I could tell what was what in my mouth was that I saw what I was grabbing. Otherwise, it all was bland mess in my mouth. I kept thinking when will this meal end. At that point I told my husband I was done. I did not eat more than 3/4 of what was on my plate. How can Mexican or Tex-Mex possibly have no taste?? How is this possible? This place is off the list.

Update- this place went up on their prices DRASTICALLY. Been coming here twice a week for years but will slow it down. Bringing it down a star or two. A queso is $13 Fajitas for two is $50 - Solid beef fajitas meat, good place, frozen margaritas about an 8. You can see the kitchen and it s real clean. Wednesday special is where it s at. Thursday is half price enchilada platters. Vickie is awesome, my kids will wait for a table for her. Kid-friendliness: They give free ice cream until 6pm

Very nice restaurant in the Woodlands area. Our server was quick to greet us and very friendly. I ordered the Stuffed Avocado with rice and beans. It was okay. Rice was bland and the refried beans were hard. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Caldo and although it was really red he really liked the flavor. My parents ordered the Fajita Platter for one with charro beans and rice. They really enjoyed the flavor of the fajitas and the charro beans. I did like the Queso dip!

The service was on the best part of the experience. The restaurant was clean and smelled like delicious food. The staff were very friendly and 100% on top of their service. The food was in my opinion overpriced for the lack of flavor it provided. Both salsas had more flavor than anything on my plate. The rice lacked seasoning, refried beans texture was thick like under-heated canned beans, and the Verde enchiladas with carnitas were bland and greasy. The service and salsa were good enough to give this place a second chance so we will be back at least one more time. Fingers crossed the kitchen staff was just having an off day!

I love Mexican food. Fajitas served with freshly made tortillas is my thing. The tortillas at this place are very good. However, I found the meat lacking in flavor, although the beef was super tender. My husband and I tried the Friday fajita special with shrimp, and while the serving size was good for a couple, it might not be substantial enough for two hungry men. I ordered refried beans, which had an unusual taste, almost like cinnamon or nutmeg had been added. My husband tried the charro beans, which he found to be decent. The rice was a bit dry. We also sampled the chicken empanada appetizer, but it was quite simple, with just meat and bread. I prefer a bit more variety in my empanadas. On the positive side, the Sangria margarita was enjoyable. Overall, its an okay option for Mexican food in the area, but not somewhere Id choose to visit frequently.

I really outstanding Mexican food restaurant here in the Woodlands. It s totally worth checking out. The chips are definitely outstanding and their salsa is great! Both the bread and the green. Several different takes on fajitas which are interesting and very good. I had the fajitas Mexicana, which incorporates Jalapeños and tomatoes. Very very good!

Dining in, picking up or getting their Family Packs these folks get it right. The fajita pack is an excellent value, we pick it up a few times a year and it covers a few family meals. The little bar has a good vibe to it and everyone is friendly and fast. I cannot recall them ever making a mistake on a call-in order. Prices are very reasonable.

Food is terrible. Cheese dip is milk with flour. Mole poblano seems to be out of a can, enchiladas were cold, tortilla were cold. My best guess is that because the poor quality, they have the meat precooked and cold. Fajitas was the same. Be careful with the qualifications. Fake. Believe me, taco bell is better quality. The manager, Hugo, very nice guy but unfortunately he s in the wrong restaurant. Thanks for the gift certificate but won t never use it. Gave it to somebody else. Terrible food. Terrible service and veryyyyyyy expensive for mexican food and that bad quality

+ Food was excellent. My Pollo Poblano featured super tender chicken, crisp and bright veggies, and even the charro beans were well above average. Service was OK to good. - DO NOT accept a table under the AC vents. There are some tables located directly under the few vents which apparently cool the entire restaurant. You could find yourself nearly getting blown away with ice cold air. We saw other diners switch tables for this reason, and, to her credit, our waitress offered to move us, but that was after our food had arrived. Also, the noise from the party rooms in back was so loud that it can be difficult to hear your server or your dinner companion. Overall, the food quality merits a 5 star rating, but the negatives drop it down to 4. I probably would not go back on a Friday or Saturday night.

Pretty disappointed...First visit to this El Chaparro location. Went for the Wednesday Fajita Special where they advertise Fajitas for 2 for $27.99. I sure would hate to pay the full price because this was not very much food, even fo the discounted price of $27.99. This was a pure bait and switch...they advertise for 2 people but only bring you food for one. Or perhaps their fajitas for 1 is similarly undersized. Seriously, the amount of fajitas brought out was equivalent to what you would get for fajitas for 1 at most places. We ate everything provided and left feeling hungry. However, not only was the amount of food provided not very much, the quality was sub-par. It was obvious they just cut up a hunk of chicken/beef and laid it on a hot platter. The platter was not close to sizzling as most fajita platters are. And the meat itself was not very hot. Chicken was also dry making me think it was sitting in the back under a heat lamp. and dont expect any vegetables mixed with fajitas. There were a few measly onions thrown on the platter that did not add much. Charros beans were lukewarm and semi-flavorful. No cheese was provided as part of the regular platter and I had to pay extra to get a small bowl of grated cheese. Thats bad enough at $27.99 but to not serve cheese with a normally priced ~$40 platter of food is just plain cheap. Only bright spot was our waitress was pleasant and prompt. Seriously doubt Ill go back - too many mexican restaurants in the area to pay inflated prices for passable food.

We have eaten here a number of times - and each time the service has been incredible and food delicious! The staff always are so kind and fun with our 2 little rambunctious boys. Anytime we have family/friends visiting from out of town, we take them here for some amazing Mexican food - and they love it! We ve tried a lot of things from the menu now - and there isn t anything we haven t enjoyed. I personally love the steak fajitas the most. The chorizo breakfast tacos are also amazing. Prices seem very reasonable. We will continue to keep coming here for a very long time!

This place is always a favorite of my whole family! The chunky guacamole is out favorite. Weve tried the blanco queso & yellow queso, both arent great in my opinion but dont let that deter you from checking them out. They have a ton of great entrees & breakfast items are served all day! Dont sleep on Huevos con Chorizo! Customer service is always top notch Their Margaritas are delicious. My personal favorite is the Skinny Margarita on the rocks. Happy hour is ALL DAY Monday & Tuesdays.

We are so impressed and thankful to El Chaparro for catering our daughter s wedding on Tuesday night 1/4/2022. Every person we worked with was on top of their stuff. Hugo, Rene and Will. From the first in person meeting to talk everything over, they were so easy to work with. Our guests loved the food and it was at a VERY reasonable price. They arrived perfectly on time and packed up all the left overs in individual take out packages for guests, family or venue workers to take home. Rene himself came to not only over see his staff, but help serve. If you re looking for a well done, affordable and good caterer, look no further! Many of our 150+ guests were very complimentary on the food. Thank you El Chaparro!! You have gained us as regulars The one draw back is they do not carry a CL and some venues (ours did - the Carriage House) require that, but my husband was able to acquire one for not much and it satisfied the venue.

5th visit 11/11. Sat at bar. Abby not there, but tenders still delivered the best straight up rita in the Woodlands; we split mixed fajitas and veggies. Well prepared and served. XLNT again. Consistency is their middle name. So glad theyre around the block........We returned for a 4th visit (10/11). Abby is still the queen of the margarita. The hospitality XLNT as usual. Bettys Shrimp were a little tough, and lacking sufficient grill taste. But the pork tamales were the best weve had in years. Yum.......Third visit (9/12) with my wife...ALL excellent. Beef fajitas were tender and flavorful; shrimp and veggies good too. Axel our server was terrific. Tres Leches delish, not soggy at all. Abby nailed the margarita again. We shall return....Second visit 4 weeks later (8/27). Same review. Abby was terrific again, and the Margarita superb. Looking fwd to dinner with my wife here soon......First visit with a friend was only for drink and nachos. He loved the Sangria. I not only loved the margarita (the El Chaporita??), it is made with the proper proportions of Tequila-Cointreau-Lime Juice: 2-1-1. Normally served on the rocks, I asked Abby, one of the bartenders, to serve it up in a martini glass. Perfecto! Chicken fajita nachos were nothing special, but were fresh, clean and easy to eat. Chicken was not dry. Overall hospitality XLNT! I echo the other comments about the look of the place. Living two blocks way, I will bring my wife next time for a meal. Welcome to Alden Bridge, El C!

The food, Imo is just okay. I dont get it at all. I think its just an easy place to go eat if you live in Alden Bridge. Its mediocre tex mex and their margaritas are not very good. So many better options not too far if youre looking for Mexican food.
