Working with Mandi was the BEST investment my husband and I made for our wedding. We had our photographer fall through last minute and Mandi took us in and my oh MY, do I now believe everything happens for a reason! Not only is she the most kind, attentive, passionate and fun photographer I have met but she has such a beautiful eye and talent for creating magic and making the moments come to life via pictures. There is so many moments that are quickly forgotten during the craziness of a wedding day and being able to comb through her art and relive those moments is so tender and so treasured by myself, family and friends. I recommend Mandi for every event and moment in life that you want photos of. Everything she touches turns to gold and truly makes you feel like youre in Vogue!

When your photos come out better than your pinterest inspo board... you know you had an AMAZING photographer!! I had graduation portraits done by Mandi and the entire experience was so incredible. She helped me feel confident and like myself to get the best pictures; making jokes to bring out my sincere smiles, directing movements to take candids, and vibing with music whether it was silly or more moody shots taken. She understood the vision I had and made it come to life. The edited photos came back quickly and I was presented with an array of edit options that were all beautiful. Wow, Mandi was absolutely amazing as our wedding photographer! We couldnt have asked for anyone better. From the moment we met her, she put us at ease with her friendly vibe and easygoing personality. She captured all of our special moments from our big day beautifully - from the private, intimate moments to the fun and laughter on the dance floor. Not to mention she had our ENTIRE wedding album ready for us in just 2 weeks, and not just a few from each moment - we have a TON of pictures. From the very beginning Mandi was responsive and very helpful in planning the proposal I had envisioned. Going into the proposal I was nervous about getting all of the important moments captured, but Mandi had us covered! After the proposal was done Mandi gave us some time to collect ourselves and continued the session with some beautiful photos. We had such a great time and the experience was wonderful. We will definitely be recommending Mandi to anybody and everybody that has proposal, engagement, or wedding photography needs. Once I saw the photos she took, I was amazed. I would give less than one star if possible. I would like to start off by saying that Mandi shot our engagement photos and did an amazing job, and we were excited to have her cover our wedding. However, she was sick the day of, which I understand, and had someone fill in for her. EDIT(I was wrong about the notification. I apologize for the misinformation. We were notified by Mandi 3 days prior to the ceremony that a fill in photographer would do the shoot because she was sick.) Everything seemed to go ok day of. However, once we received photos after the event, we realized that many of them were unusable. When we asked for assistance in editing photos so that they could be used and shared, we were rejected not once but twice. One issue at the reception could be overlooked, but the second at the ceremony could not. The fill in photographer who had seemed to do well up to this point, changed shutter speeds just before my wife walked in. In doing so, a banding effect was caused in all of our most important ceremony photos due to the LED lights in the chapel. When we brought this to Mandis attention, she basically said it wasnt her fault and that they did the best they could in adverse lighting conditions. However, photos before the shutter change, and after during family photos in which I assume it was changed back, show no banding issues. Mandi tried to use some clause in her contract stating the lighting caused the issue and was out of her control, but we have a copy of an email from the fill in photographer to Mandi stating she made the switch which caused the issue. Now Mandi is refusing to edit the photos, leaving us with no usable photos the most important parts of our ceremony. We even offered to limit the editing to just a few of our favorites, yet she still refused. If you still decide to book here, please arrange to make payment in full after acceptable photos are received. I would hate for anyone to end up where we are...seeking for someone to edit someone elses mistakes and paying twice for professional photos. See example photos for before and after the switch. The photo with the green shirt, the shirt is a solid color. The banding added stripes just like it did to my wifes wedding dress in the last photo. Would you be ok with this?

Beautiful pictures!! Mandi always captures our family so perfectly. Its hard to choose which ones to put on the wall and around the house!! We love that the session fee includes all of the digitals so we can have the memories and ability to use them again. Mandi has great location suggestions...and in places we didnt even know existed in Houston/The Woodlands. Not only amazing backdrops but fun places for the kids to explore/play. We LOVE Mandi!!! I booked her for our wedding after seeing her work on a friend s engagement session on Instagram & she has been exceptional. Mandi is so kind and personable. Months later and I m still scarred from the experience that she lost half of our engagement pictures. We did do a reshoot, where we incurred additional personal costs (for makeup, hair, nails, etc.) but at least we have photos. She had apologized and offered to refund us half the session to sweeten the inconvenience but didn t in the end. She also blocked me from social media and dismissed my husband s review. I almost didn t write this because I m so conflict avoidant, but it just bugs me. There should always be a standard level of professionalism and stronger ethics. This is especially true with incidents like these which are deeply sensitive and impactful to clients. I don t want to invalidate other people s positive comments, as I know everyone s experience is different and mine was good until the incident. I was just deeply disappointed with how it was handled.

Finding a photographer for my wedding was probably THE most important thing to me as I wanted my day and the memories captured beautifully. The first time I spoke with Mandi I knew she was the right photographer for me. She had a personality that automatically makes you feel at peace and calm and her portfolio of work is absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend choosing a different photographer. Mandi lost half of the photos that she took during our engagement photoshoot. When she delivered the half that she hadn t lost, we were understanding of the situation and decided to retake the pictures with her. However, when we arrived at Rice University for the second session, there was a whole event going on right where we were supposed to take the pictures trucks everywhere, people working to set up a stage, seats, signs, etc. Apparently, she hadn t reserved a time to take the pictures, which she knew was mandatory to take photographs at Rice not reserving is against the rules of the property and we had paid for (we paid for setting her up in the system and for the slot). She said that she was going to refund us half of our money, but she never did. Since we are going to redo the photoshoot with a different photographer, I tried following up with her on the reimbursement promise (after waiting for a long period), and then she returned $50 far from the half that she had said. After that, she never answered to my follow up email and blocked us from social media for no reason. We were never unpolite to her and were very understanding, even though we are having to invest in our photoshoot for a third time. Her reaction was very disappointing and is very unprofessional, so anyone in the lookout for a serious photographer should look somewhere else.

Mandi is extremely talented. My husband(fiancé at the time) and I did an interactive photoshoot with her downtown and fell in love with her and her work. From there, she did our engagement photos and then our wedding. She is organized, detail oriented, and punctual! She has an eye for angles and somehow captures photos at the perfect moment, capturing intense emotion. Her wedding day coordination started months in advance and covered everything, so that on the day of she didn t have any questions. As a bride, this is extremely important. She has an ability to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Honestly, she feels like family in the short time we got to know her. LASTLY, I must rave about her TURNAROUND TIME. When we first met, she was very accommodating to and respectful of my budget and made sure to hear my wishes/needs, and then created a plan that worked for both of us. She was very good at communication and made it a priority to get to know me and my groom. She was such a good listener and offered such great solutions and advice to any questions I had. Not only is she such a wonderful photographer and made EVERYONE at my wedding feel so comfortable, but she was way more than the lady with the camera. She helped me plan since day one, she coordinated, she was my go-to girl when something unplanned came up, and she was always there to remind me to take the moment in. Everyone at my wedding told me how great she was - which I already knew from working with her for 9 months - but for them to know that after only a couple hours with her, shows you how wonderful she really is. She took SO many pictures and got them back to us so quickly!! My fiancé and I have never had professional photos taken before so we were nervous going into our engagement shoot. We didn t know how to pose (all we know is to kiss or to stand side by side lol) and are not PDA people- Mandi assuaged both of these concerns. She is super friendly and her calming, easy-going spirit really helped us shine during our shoot. I broke out into stress hives because I was so giddy and nervous, but she was reassuring and was a total HYPE WOMAN. The photos turned out AMAZING and we cannot thank her enough for capturing us in our engagement season! Also, Mandi is a great communicator and is easily reachable in case you have as many questions as me haha! You seriously cannot go wrong by choosing her as your photographer

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I found Mandi on Instagram while searching for Houston area wedding photographers and instantly fell in love with her style. We had an intro meeting after connecting where Mandi and I got to know one another and share visions -- from that moment, I fell in love with her personality and overall disposition. From then and throughout the wedding, Mandi always went above and beyond the call of duty for a photographer. She was a friend, encourager, nerve calmer, and so much more. She worked closely with me to ensure every detail was thought through and that I had peace of mind every step of the way. This was my first time getting professional photos done so I was unsure what to expect. All morning I was seeing it was supposed to be the hottest day this summer so far. My fiancé and I were dreading the heat and thought for sure these photos wouldn t turn out given we would be drenched in sweat. We were running late the day of and Mandi was totally understanding and more than accommodating. She made the entire process so effortless, easy and FUN. You can tell she is passionate about what she does!! She by far overdelivered with the photos she captured. She was aware that I was on a tight timeline for these photos to be finished so she prioritized our edits and got them to me in TWO days!!! She is an absolute blessing from above. My son was leaving for the Navy and we wanted to capture his senior pictures before shipping out. Mandi was very accommodating with scheduling and worked around our tight availability. Leading up to my photoshoot, Mandi was very quick to respond and gave me all the information I needed. When the day came she was so welcoming and kind to my mom and I, and it made things a lot more laid back and natural. Her technique with taking photos/ prompting poses for me to do was AMAZING!!! She had great ideas and seemed very professional with the way she captured angles and good lighting. The pictures came out better than I could ve ever imagined, and her editing skills make the photo look very vibrant and lively! Leading up to our wedding day I felt excited and comfortable having Mandi as our photographer because she was willing to meet with my mom in person to discuss expectations and details of our day. She was very personable yet professional, and my mom said she adored the time they spent together. This is something I wanted during my wedding, to feel comfortable and like a friend was taking our photos, especially since a photographer is involved in every minute of the process. During the wedding day, Mandi made the whole experience fun and natural. She captured organic moments and also helped guide photos that she knew we would want. Overall, Mandi was very calm, thoughtful, and intentional throughout the day. When I saw some of your images for the first time I was amazed! Not only did Mandi get ALL of our wedding photos back to us in less than a month, each of them were stunning! I appreciated the cohesive editing and that every photo looked natural but polished. She also included a photo book of our wedding photos that we selected, and she formatted them beautifully! We received that gift quickly as well! If a friend was considering Mandi for portraits, I would tell them yes, dont hesitate! I will be using Mandi Roach Photography for all other life milestones and special occasions from here on out.
