AVOID THIS FIRM AT ALL COSTS! They treat you like a number and have ZERO attention to detail. Attorney was late to hearing and said all the wrong things to the judge. They charged me 7 grand to completely ruin my divorce case and when I demanded a refund of my retainer for their malpractice, they gave me attitude (very unprofessional) and took three weeks to send the refund. AVOID!

At the lowest time of my life, Bolton Law was sympathetic and encouraging. They advised me in all areas of my divorce and at the end of the day did what I asked them to do, even if I did not agree with some of that advice. Thank you to Bruce, Zainab, and Kevin for being available and telling me what I needed to hear and not just what I wanted to hear. A divorce was never in my grand plan of life. It seems wrong to thank someone for helping with a divorce, but they were encouraging me to save the marriage and ready to fight for me if I could not.

I felt very pressured, they had me applying for loans on the first visit and conveniently they have several places you can apply, my first appointment with Ruby she thought I was a totally different client, she wasn t meant to see me on that visit, had me worried they couldn t keep clients straight Charged me $3000 and I still have no idea what all the charges were. Never again! As far as reaching out to me, if you re not going to return my money we have nothing to discuss. I ve learned an expensive lesson.

I must start by saying that I gave a 1-star rating only because a negative score wasnt available. Beware of the positive search results and reviews for Bolton Law. This firm is entirely profit-driven with little regard for its clients. My attorney barely understood my case, and he, along with Ruby, failed to even calculate the child support from my ex. I was unnecessarily forced to work with an amicus, chosen by the opposing attorney due to their connection, despite it being unwarranted in my case. I opposed this, yet was misled into believing it was essential, and had to bear the cost of a biased amicus who ultimately harmed my case.Every email, regardless of length, cost me $25, with many required due to the attorneys lack of case familiarity. I felt nickel-and-dimed at every turn, draining my 401k without any concern from the firm. They charged for everything imaginable, even when my attorney rescheduled our court date for his medical appointment, increasing my costs further.During the 4.5-hour mediation, the amicus and mediator (Loudin) spent most of the time with my ex, disregarding my wishes and returning only with his demands. Despite my desire to go to court, I felt coerced into settling by my attorney, the amicus, and the mediator. After consulting two other attorneys, I was dismayed to learn there was no reason for me to have settled, as the judge wouldnt have likely changed the custody due to no substantial change in circumstances.Ultimately, I paid this firm over $35k, resulting in a loss of primary custody, child support, and substantial financial resources, leaving me with nothing in return. I strongly advise against using Bolton Law; they are more interested in your money than providing genuine legal support.

Awful experience ended up firing the Bolton Lawfirm. They are not least bit worried about what s important but they sure don t mind keeping track of unnecessary charges. File maintenance, two weeks update calls that were 1 min long got charged for 15 mins, getting charged for their mess ups, incorrect wording on first papers, not being there for the first hearing scheduling a second while I was 600 miles away at work. These are all facts went through 3 different lawyers representing the law firm one of which supposedly had health issues and I m sure the second quit she was brand new. Anyways do yourself a favor and hire someone else to represent you and your family!

They took my money ($350 for 30mins) for a consultation on 9/12/23 with Madeline which I never heard back from. I called and emailed several times after another week of waiting only to have Madeline contact me to apologize for the delays and promise immediate next steps. Needless to say, that never happened either. Why collect my money and waste my time acting like you cared to help when you clearly did not have the bandwidth or expertise needed for my case? It was quite frustrating, unfair and unprofessional.

I am so glad that I found the team at Bolton Law. They were patient and took time to explain to me what was going on with my case. We were always one step ahead of my exs legal team. My lawyer explained everything that would happen at our hearing and we did so well at temporary orders that my ex quit fighting me and we were able to reach a good agreement without ever having to go to trial.

Told them I was unavailable between 8-5 due to work and even offered to pay for after hours and was denied then when my deposit ran out and I told them I would have it the following week and asked to talk to my lawyer. Kept getting told she was busy and would return my call and never returned my call. Also was told that calls cost but emails didn t at the beginning and then charged over $500 in emails alone. Would not recommend for the hard working single parent unless your hours are flexible to them not flexible to those that work your normal 9-5 or in my case 8-5. Now having to find a new lawyer due to this inconvenience and out $7000 because they say one thing then do the other and withdrawn from my case.

My end result, getting half custody of my son, is worth 5 stars all day. That said, the experience wasnt perfect, as the firm had some staffing changes that included the attorney who sold me on the firm leaving shortly after I paid my retainer. They were able to give my case the priority I felt I was promised once I complained, which is more than fair. While they were more expensive than I initially expected, they were also good about not sending me to collections when I took a while to pay my bills. Much appreciated. Finally, I need to say that Ruby was absolutely outstanding in court when I faced a scurrilous application for a protection order (it was thrown out). If your case isnt going to be argued, then maybe try someone else on the staff and save a little $. Otherwise, I strongly recommend Rubys representation if you need someone to speak for you on critical family law matters.

Very unpleased with the 1 hour attorney advice I received. I paid almost $400 for this attorney to pretty much tell me there was nothing she could do to help me out even though I wasn t receiving anything I am promised in my order. She wasn t compassionate of my feelings or concerned of the safety of my child. Which really made me mad. She pretty much told me it s my sole responsibility to care for my child under my roof along with under his dads roof if and when he starts going over there. Which it shouldn t be. It should be 50/50. She also made other comments that didn t sit well with me and made me very frustrated. It was definitely a waste of time and $400 which I could have kept in my savings for my child. But I thought this law firm was going to be able to help me so I took a chance, but nope I was wrong. I will never go back there or recommend this place to anyone. If I could give zero stars I would.

Overall horrible experience with this firm. Was absolutely taken advantage of. Just returned from deployment overseas and was fighting for custody and all they cared about was the money. Paid $15k and got nothing out of it. Was told I had a great case and then was told to settle in mediation for standard rights. Was charged $700 every month for them to call me and tell me there were no updates on my case. Charged me to draft my decree and then to edit it when they messed it up, and now want to charge to redo it all just because they failed to finish it. After mediation they still didnt complete my case and want thousands more just to finish it. Paid a lot of money for no updates to my case and for it not to be finished just to be told I need to pay thousands more to finish it. Its all about the money for them and they could careless about the actual case. Find a better attorney that will actually fight and not just fight you for more money. Wouldnt recommend to anyone that actually cares about their kids.

I was looking for a divorce lawyer because I wanted custody of my kids. As a father of three it just wasnt a common thing in Texas so I had alot of fears and concerns. Ruby and I began sharing the details of my life. Ruby really gained my confidence and we pressed on with the process. Divorce is never easy. Never thought it would happen to me but after 34 years of marriage I find myself at lost.... I found Ruby Bolton on line and had very good reviews. I went for the consultation to see what are my options and hired her. I had done a little bit of the leg work negotiating with my ex and Ruby assisted me on writing the divorce decree and got my freedom in 3 months.
