Food was good (me, German). A little too much gravy on the Wiener Schnitzel, but that is the americanization to it. The Apfelstrudel was tasteful, but it did not wow me. Why do the Brezel always have that oily surface? Really, criticizing from a German perspective. All in all it is a place worth visiting an coming back to!

Second time being there this past weekend, and again never leave disappointed. Server Nolan has been our serve twice and he truly knows he s stuff. He deserves all the recognition!! I asked for the beer flight and he hooked it up, I loved every single one. I recommend the schnitzel, the Rueben, the chicken wings, the beir cheese, the truffle fries & the German potato salad!!! so far my fav restaurant there in NB.

We wanted to quiet meal together and it was late on Saturday eve. So we came to Joes Pizza Amici. Beautiful music in the background just us and a couple others in the restaurant. Started with the garlic knots and marinara...my favorite! Followed by the mushroom soup, my wifes new favorite! And finished with spaghetti and meatballs. Were full, it was wonderful , and we thank the Saturday night staff for an excellent experience!

I loved watching both Texans and Cowboys games at the pavilion. We had a great server - he was amazing with food and drink, and he was so nice to talk to. I also liked the entertainment - great guitarist by the way. Overall, this place absolutely captures the spirit of New Braunfels; and as a San Antonian, I would definitely see this place as a reason to visit New Braunfels.

I wish I could give a better review because we love the ambiance of Krauses. Seven of us went for my daughter s birthday and sadly we were so disappointed. The food was luke warm at best. My spatzle was actually cold. The meatball was so full of red pepper that it was the only flavor that came through. The red cabbage was cold. My son s girlfriend got a cheese burger and said it was completely bland. My husband s sausage plate wasn t good and he left half of it. You might wonder why we didn t tell the waiter. Well mainly because he was never around. He took our order, brought us some water, and disappeared. There was hardly anyone there so it s not because he was so busy he didn t have time. After we received our food we never saw him again. When we were ready for the check we had to finally flag down another waiter to find ours. This is our third and I sadly final time to try this place out. I m giving 3 stars because I think it could be better if some things are addressed.

We were super excited to stop here on our trip to New Braunfels. We chose to sit outside, the seating area was comfortable and fairly cool for being summer, but the service was definitely lacking. The food came out pretty quick, but it wasnt even hot & didnt have much flavor. Worse yet, the beers came after the food delivery and they werent even cold.

This place is a vibe! I love the outdoor seating and the live music that makes you want to dance. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions about the food or drink. First time visit to Krause s with friends. This is quite a diverse venue with large inside and outside seating areas. The atmosphere was vibrant and exciting on the evening I was there as Yesenia and the Groove Doctors were playing. We had delicious food and drinks as well. I highly recommend this venue for a fun evening out. Plenty of helpful friendly staff who check on you frequently as well. Parking: Large parking lot is available but fills up quickly. Street parking is available as well.

The Rueben fries were fantastic, as were the chicherrones with sweet chile sauce. The potato salad was very disappointing. Saurkraut, sausages, pork shank were wonderful. The server took quite a while getting to us, but the order came quickly after turning in. She did not know what the large german banner hanging above us said, and that was disappointing. I feel that a server should know everything about the place they are representing, from menu to decor.

Unable to accommodate vegan diets. The team gets confused when you request the Beyond Meat that is listed on the menu (we had to speak to 5 team members to get it ordered). We ordered Beyond burgers but were served beef patties with a $3 upcharge per burger (that was supposed to be a vegan tax) on 8/23/24. Since the meat alternatives taste so much like meat, we didnt realize we were served beef until we got the actual non-meat patty the next day. Manager on duty on 8/24/24 was defensive so has some learning to do to function in a food environment; it wasnt worth trying to explain anything to him. The vegan lentil soup is extremely salty. The Asian salad was really good and the live music is really nice!

Love rhe music but the people doing the seating arent very good at it. I was told it would be an hour wait so i went to the outdoor bar area to wait. A whole bunch of seating became available within minutes After 20 min no one was seated there so i just sat down and was served in min. I was there 2.5 hours and no one else was ever seated near me despite available seating. Had i just left based in what the hostess ssid they would hsve missed out on my sale.

We are always looking for good German food, so we thought we hit the jackpot with a place that has a Biergarten and a Bierhalle. Between me, the wife, and the kids, we had the kartoffel poppers, deviled eggs, Texas Schnitzel, Jagerschnitzel, chicken tenders, and a burger. Im not sure there was anything Texas about the Texas Schnitzel. It was a tiny cut of schnitzel, and the jalapeño cream sauce was decent, but was missing a little flavor. The jagerschnitzel was about twice as big, and the jager gravy was good. The burger (so Im told) was good, and the chicken tenders were the best thing on the table (in my opinion). The deviled eggs were okay, but thats it, and the kartoffel poppers were pretty good. All-in-all, not a bad visit, just a little bit disappointing. We will, however, be back to try some other dishes, and shall update our beliefs accordingly.

Yesterday we ate as a family at this place, it is a family place with live music. They have options for vegans despite being a place where they sell German food. They have a wide variety of beers and you can even buy packaged sausages inside. The food is good but it still needs to be like authentic German. The service left a little to be desired since when we arrived we asked for orange juice and they never brought it to the table, only water. The dessert we ate was very delicious and so were their dishes. I really enjoyed the live music and even dancing, I think, with the father of one of the musicians. I attach photos. Kid-friendliness: There were many children who even enjoyed the cozy and familiar atmosphere that music provided. Wheelchair accessibility: It is an open and spacious space, so you will not have problems.

We love this place. We visit New Braunfels every few months and we always make certain to stop here. The atmosphere is so enjoyable with plenty of seats, covered patio, and indoor restaurant as well. Theres a live band every time I have visited and sunny l some times traditional German dancers. The food is excellent and the drink menu is large. They dont allow beer samples. Thats my only complaint. Its difficult to order an entire beer when you have no idea what it tastes like. Ive never been to a place with draft beer and youre not allowed to sample. Anyway, the beer weve had has all been good.

I was craving a Ruben, so what better place?! We went inside and waited for a inside table for about 20 minutes. Outside was hot! Went to get a drink at the bar while we waited and while deciding I asked how many drinks on tap they had. I got glared at by the blonde barmaid who clearly having an awful day, Ive seen happier people at funerals. Shortly answered 80. She looked away, I guess that was the end of the small talk! Went there last Saturday with a big group for some Beers. Sat down at the table and halfway through our first beer, waitress came over and told us we had to get up from the table because it was for people ordering food. Then move to a second table in the beer hall And also told had to get up from the table if we weren t ordering food. Mrs and I drove over from Shiner to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. We have been before, but only for the beer. This time we each got a schnitzel, mine a Texas and hers a jaeger! I can see why so many folks tell me about heading to Krauses for lunch or dinner (and I hear even for breakfast). I have only been going here for lunches, and can see that this menu is worth trying several of the offerings. I really liked the chicken fried steak. My buddy loves their German meatball. The bratwurst was decent, too. Its a fun place to go with friends and coworkers. I hear the music at night. I love seeing the Farmers Market on Saturdays. Great place to visit and enjoy a nice meal. The Reuben was a pleasant surprise, too.

I truly am saddened to write this review about one of my former favorite restaurants for years. Every time I had gone previously, I had an amazing experience. But the last few times I have been, the entire experience has been abysmal. The staff at Krause s cafe always treated you like family before.This most recent visit however the whole atmosphere was negative and uncaring,Especially from the staff. I didn t see any of the same faces anymore. All I see now is teenagers and kids too busy talking and texting to even. 1. Take our order after 25 minutes, and the dining room was almost empty. 2. Not a single refill on water, I had to go ask another waitress for more water after our waitress disappeared constantly. 3. Our waitress not once checked in on us or even attempted to do any kind of service besides our order and the check. The service I can live with as long as the food is good. But I wouldn t be writing this review if it was. Every time I ve come to Krause Cafe it s been some of the best food I d ever had. Now I can t even say if it s better than fast food options. The chefs and cooks put love into their cooking and dishes and it showed. I ordered the Scweinhaxe and a beer, my usual order for years. My wife ordered the schnitzel. And from the first bite I knew something was wrong. My schweinhaxe was undercooked and not tended to properly. It was underseasoned and the meat was tough .. the meat on the schweinhaxe was ALWAYS melt in your mouth like butter with the taste to boot. Now it was as dry and tasteless as a McDonald s hamburger patty. My wife had the schnitzel, and while it was okay. It was also very dry and under-seasoned. I don t know what happened , and I am infinitely grateful for the previous waiting and cooking staff. But I can no longer support this restaurant in good faith. Something has to change, or everyone I know isn t coming back here. Please like this review if you AGREE Krause s has gone downhill and NEEDS to change.

Tried and true, this place has the best German food in Texas. The schnitzel is so good, the beer flights are amazing, the service is divine, and the AC is cold. Beer cheese, pickles, pretzels, potato salad, cabbage, Reubens, and more!

AMAZINGGGG FOOD! I m a picky eater and I LOVE this place. I got the chicken sandwich (grilled) with everything off it and just the chicken/bread alone WOW! The grilled chicken was the best I ve ever eaten! I had a side of fries and they were ok prob should have gotten their homemade chips. I had the soft pretzel as an appetizer and it was the best soft pretzel! I can t compliment the food enough! I can t wait to come back! Also if you love pickles get a plate of these so yummy! Fries were ok just not crispy. Parking is iffy I got lucky because the farmers market (in same parking lot) was closed. Staff was good,attentive, just took a bit to get the check. They were busy in the cafe so I won t hold it against anyone. Parking: Not a lot of spots,mainly street parking ,come Monday when the farmers market is closed and there shouldn t be an issue with parking.

Noah was an excellent server. We were a large group. Celebrating my husbands bday. One of my kids asked if they would sing to my husband. Noah said they did not. A friend said she wanted him to sing in German. 10 minutes later Noah comes back and sings happy birthday in German! Top notch server! We were very touched. Noah went above and beyond to ensure our experience was excellent! July 13, 2024

This one s a tough one the cafe closed at 9pm on Sunday. We got there at 7:30pm to celebrate my bday. Our waitress/bartender (Cassie I believe) was absolutely amazing! Attentive and friendly. I can t stress that enough!! It was about 8:30pm when a man made an announcement that they would be closing at 9pm sharp and to place any last call orders now. I closed out our dinner tab with our waitress shortly after. She said for us to sit and enjoy the rest of our beers. NO RUSH WHATSOEVER! At this time, it was about 8:45pm and more tables were just being sat to eat dinner. Shortly after, a dark haired woman walked up and demanded that she take our beers. I explained that I had already cashed out and our waitress said that we had the ok to sit and finish our drinks. AGAIN, no rush . She then responded ooooo well I m the manager. I make the final call and I m going to take it up now. She took up my sister s unfinished beer, then was literally holding out her hand as I was taking my last allowed sip out of my ONE beer that I purchased that whole night. Still unfinished. I m sorry, but what the hell is happening with customers service these days?!? Our waitress came by right afterwards and apologized profusely after I told her what happened. Meanwhile the manager just stood off to the side, staring at us. Our table was not being loud or obnoxious. We were trying to have a nice, quiet birthday dinner, and I do not appreciate how we were treated by management that night. She needs to be taken down a couple notches in my opinion.

The Jäger Schnitzel was good, although I wish the pork was more juicy. The deviled eggs hit the spot, especially when you put mustard, red sweet chilis, and pickles on top. The one thing that was phenomal was the potato salad. It had a tangy, lemony, unique taste, wow! I couldve eaten a whole plate of just that stuff.

Wanted some lunch before we left town after being on the river all weekend. Krause s didn t disappoint! Super cool atmosphere. Wait staff was nice and helpful. Food was tasty. Beer was cold! Will definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Venison burger and game sausages were overcooked and salty. Red cabbage was too spicy - isnt it supposed to be on the sweet side? Potato chips and cheese dip was just okay. Dinners should come with bread. Its a must-go just for the awesomeness of the place.

Hands down the best place to get some good German food. Wife and I drove up from San Antonio to try and were very pleased. We both got schnitzel s (Wiener & Jäger) and I tried the Hofbräu Original beer. I had my beer within 3minutes of ordering and our food within 10minutes. Fast service, our waiter was great. Will be back again and again. Kid-friendliness: Open area lots of kids were running around and playing. Wheelchair accessibility: From parking to entrance there were ADA accessible ramps and wide spaces for wheelchairs.
