This law firm is one of the most unethical and profit-driven practices Ive ever encountered. They assign inexperienced attorneys such as Mrs. Deonee High, charge full attorney rates for basic clerical tasks, and completely lack both objectivity and clarity in their communication. They ignore evidence due to bias and inexperience, and once they know you have money, they exploit it. They are unfamiliar with trust matters and lack the willingness to properly research them. Their approach is to push their own agenda without making a real effort, and they may drop you during a hearing as a form of pressure and coercion either you comply with their terms and accept what they offer, or youre left on your own mid-hearing or trial, facing the challenge of finding new legal representation and a hefty bill. This clearly reveals their lack of loyalty and commitment to clients. I lost around $12,000 to this firm with no results. Switching to another firm mid-hearing was the best thing that happened to me. You are led to believe there is a hierarchy in this firm, but in reality, there is none; each attorney works for their own interests.

I don t even know where to start, this law firm was so lacking, I m still paying for my divorce, absolutely the worst representation I ve ever had. They had no clue how to protect me as a business owner, my attorneys lack of knowledge was astonishing. I did 90% of the talking in court and if it was up to them I wouldn t have a business today. If you are a business owner that was in place prior to your marriage, you absolutely don t want to use this group. I literally have paid thousands and thousands to this firm and they are still sucking me dry. The retainer is just the tip! X10

Worst experience of my life. Hannah was a terrible attorney, she charged me 1000 dollars everytime I would call with a simple request or concern. Even after I pleaded with Theresa Deford before signing onto the firm that I was leaving my abusive ex they seemed like they would help me. They are liars. They dont help anyone but themselves. They are sexist against women even though they are women themselves. This is the worst law firm I have ever worked with. Please do yourself a favor and choose differently.

I m grateful for the DeFord firm. I started with them for my divorce and continued using this firm with a child support case that popped up since. Even through dealing with COVID, they listened to my needs and were able to get my case finished in a timely manor. Update 2/29/2024: Hannah at DeFord Law Firm has continued to help me navigate and helped bring my case to a close. I would still have to deal with the other counsel if she didn t step in and assist me through the end of it. I highly recommend this law firm! I made a post on Facebook through the I Love Conroe Paige. I asked for recommendations for a lawyer to fight for the fathers rights. Over 20 people recommended this law firm. We had a couple of consultations with other lawyers and we were not impressed but, after having one consultation meeting with Hammad Syed I knew he was going to be our lawyer. He took the time to answer all questions and to explain everything clearly. He made recommendations to us as to what to do before we even hired him. We won our case because of Mr. Syed and Barbra. Barbara was very patient and very helpful. I needed to talk to her on the phone one day and she heard the distress in my voice. Before even addressing the issues the phone call was for she took a moment to calm me down and reassure me that they are doing everything they can to fight for our family and everything will work out in our favor. I greatly appreciate that. Mr Syed made Single Court date less stressful. He helped us to feel comfortable and even had us laughing and reassuring us that everything would be okay he is amazing. Giving two stars because I called and I explained my case to the lady on the phone. She was very sweet and recommended a consultation call - where I could go through my case deeply and more detailed to the person in charge (I thought I would be taking to an attorney on the phone). My consultation call lasted 2 minutes since when I explained my case the person talking to me informed that she wasn t an attorney and couldn t help me. Also she informed me that they charge $350 per hour in order to talk to one of their attorneys. Total waste of my time and expectations. Would have been easier if I was informed since the beginning that I wouldn t be talking directly to some who could help me and get the price right away.

Would likely be better off representing yourself. Was sent an invoice for nearly $1,000 after services and retainer fees. When asked about the additional $1,000 fee, I was told they meant to send me a notice when the charges appeared, but the computer wasn t working that day.
