Had brunch here on Sunday. The service by Shay was awesome and the food was great. We had the delicious veggie omelette, the big breakfast that came with an incredible pancake, and a side of breakfast potatoes. The omelette had lots of fresh veggies and feta. The whole experience was great

Currently here and this is my first experience here. Laura is my Server from the moment I walked in she greeted me with a warm welcome. I came by myself and since there s more than enough seating she allowed me to pick where I was comfortable. (Which I appreciate) . I ordered a Cherry Bomb mimosa which was very well flavored and wasn t overpowering. After observing the menu I decided on the Southern Stack . It is listed in the appetizer portion but it was very filling. Southern stack consist of Fried green tomatoes, Crab Cakes and a sauce that I can t think of the name with Shrimp .Very well flavored and so glad I stopped in. Added my Receipt for context on dining for 1 person UPDATE 9/28/24 Wasn t a fan of the loaded hash . Literally just a bowl of thick chopped up potatoes and bell peppers and onions . Sweet tea was watery not a fan . Service was ok today felt kind of rushed

First time being here and in Texas just got off a flight and cut off someone in my group that wasn t even drinking yet just order a mimosa flight to try them manager cut him off for walking due to health conditions and being loud cause he s generally a loud person. I d never go back here. Food was also bland and didn t taste good. Have young people who shouldn t serve alcohol behind the bar. Manager took his time coming to discus the issue and came with a hostile demeanor

I stopped here on whim for breakfast. I was in town for an event. I had the veggie omelette and the banana foster French toast. I was surprised to see the French toast were beignets. They were amazing! The service was great, and I would definitely come here again if Im in town. The pictures of the food I posted have a red tint since we chose to sit outside under the red canopies there.

Ordered the ham and cheese omelet, eggs were cooked perfectly with the right amount of cheese and ham. The fire roasted grits were well cooked, but they lacked much flavor, bland salt level and no fire roasted flavor. I had the tropical mimosa (coconut and pineapple) well mixed, not overly sweet. Highly recommend. Goes down too easy! Seems like a fun location if you are away from the water. Cute space, very current with the faux-foliage walls. Beyond the walls the decorations feel sparse.

This is the third time attempting to eat here. Previous times theyve closed 30 minutes before closing to clean the kitchen as opposed to being open to their posted times. The other time was over an hour wait. Today we went and even though there were open tables (40%), there was still a 30 minute wait. They seemed understaffed and waitresses were untrained. Although they are friendly and hospitable, its seems as though they need more procedure and professionalism. The food itself tasted amazing. Bennys and the banana Foster French toast was on point! This place has a lot of potential with great food quality but needs to work on expediting orders to handle larger volume also add more coffee options to accommodate your brunch traffic.

We arrived only to see that they were closed. We wont have our time wasted again. There are to many restaurants that are good and provide good service to put up with those that DONT!

Some really good food, the problem is you have to wait a long while to get it. Prices are really good. $55 for a young family of 5. We were the only ones there pretty much and waited 30 minutes for the food. The staff is very nice its just that usually its only one young lady serving and hostess. Kids love it as well.If they would try to cut the time down on wait and maybe hire more people I can see this place being packed out the door.

We had breakfast. The food was ok except for the grits that had no flavour and no cheese. The service was very slow and the men s restroom was very dirty and needed a good cleaning at the minimum and a refurbishment would be a plus. My wife also said the women s restroom could have used a good cleaning. Overall an average experience for a higher priced restaurant. Parking: Lots of parking spots for breakfast Wheelchair accessibility: Bathroom was accessible and I believe the entrance was as well

*** Excellent reply by Brick and Spoon!*** Nice staff, clean, very fresh. I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast hash. It s not really hash, just fried potatoes with bacon and stuff drizzled on top, shredded cheese and a fried egg. The cheese gets hard and there s nothing to bind it together. It needed something moist, like gravy, and the potatoes should be smashed, mixed together, refried on a griddle like a real hash.

Two annoyances that mean Ill never go back. The cream for my coffee was curdled. The server immediately brought me fresh coffee and cream. But worst was the discovery of a secret early bird menu IN THE BATHROOM of a cheaper and simpler set of dishes. I totally would have gotten something from there instead of the expensive fancy breakfast dish on the menu they provided at the table. Apparently the owner thought it would be cute and give people a reason to come back a second time. Instead it annoyed me so much Ill never go back. Aside from that the food was tasty, arrived on time and the server was great.

We were so excited that a breakfast place opened. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The food is good but not great, a little pricey for what you get. Now for the fire roasted grits these were instant grits with zero I mean zero flavor, there wasn t enough salt on the table to give them flavor. Too expensive for the quality of food unfortunately. I would rather go to the dreaded Denny s.

My family and I went for breakfast on a Sunday and only chose this spot because it was close to us. The waitress we had automatically seemed disinterested in us (maybe because we didnt order any alcohol). Anyways, we ordered the French Toast, the hash, pancakes and the Creole omelette. Waitress brought us the wrong thing twice and then when asked to bring us some ketchup, walked away and began chatting at the register. When we were ready to pay, we had to wait 10-15 minutes. I understand things get busy but they had no problem servicing other tables and passing us by several times. Back to the food, only the pancakes and the potatoes were good. And if youre hoping to have a coffee or juice, good luck, they dont have anything that isnt spiked. We will not be going back again.

I want to really like this place and keep trying because it s close and the food is good but we ve consistently had odd experiences here with long wait times and service. The other day we were there for almost 2 hours and our entrees came out almost 15 minutes apart, it seemed like our waiter forgot to put it in. He didn t communicate with us about the wait or check back in during that time, only got 1 glass of water when we asked for them, long time to get the check and pay. Meanwhile we were 1 of 5 tables with 3 or 4 servers walking around. I also have issues that the printed menu and actual preparation of dishes are different. it s so disappointing to order a vegetarian option and have it come out with bacon having to send it back and be an inconvenience to the staff and myself. I learned my lesson after the first time to specify but the menu is still wrong as of the other day. Don t think I ll be back anytime soon, if I have 2 hours for brunch I could go to Galveston. The potatoes are good though

Sorry, Bacon tasted gamey, jelly was out of date. Waited too way long for eggs, English muffin and potatoes that were lukewarm. No refills for drinks offered and after asking three times for ketchup I went to get it. Both waitresses that I had asked were looking at me with attitude then went back to get some, I waited for them to give another waiters some for his table (who was seated after we ordered but already had their food) to come back out without my ketchup. By this time my food was cold and I was done. Waited again for the check, waited again for them so we could pay then went somewhere else to eat. Will not be going back.

Not Again!!!! This place has terrible service and attitude. The food is average for a brunch place, but service ruins your enjoyment of the food. We have tolerated the service, wrong items and being ignored with long wait times in the past. When the host/hostess is no where to be seen and people coming in to be seated with half the tables empty, then enough is enough. When they finally come to the front and stand behind the front desk and look at you like a deer in the headlights, I ask whats the hold up? They reply, oh I have to fill out the chart and i have a party of 6 to be seat. What the heck!!!! No one doing anything and people still piling in, again half the seats or empty. AGIAN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH .Not Again!!!! So is you like Wrong Orders, Service that is slow, Service with attitude, Service that ignores you, and People that just plain don t know what they are doing with no more than Average food then this is The Place For You!

The restaurant doesn t have enough manpower to accept all the customers that show up. the food takes forever.. Never again! Fix that issue! That s one of the the reasons why we can t have nice things in Texas City!

My friends and family visited this place and breakfast was pretty good. Justin was our server and he was very helpful in answering all our questions and accommodated us accordingly. The burger was flavorful, the omelette w/potatoes were delicious. Justin made sure to give me extra hollandaise sauce for my omelet together with the million other requests of our party of 9. I had the trip mimosa and their wild berry was good. My friend tried the Bloody Mary which she said was a hit. I am not big on eating breakfast foods but this place was good. I gave it 4 stars because there were some items that weren t available which we had to switch up our choices.

Crispy with the right amount of fat. I had eggs over easy, they were runny yet firm. Breakfast potatoes were crispy on the outside but soft inside. Wait staff was gracious, courteous and on point.

I finally got to try this place! My fam and I were on our way to Galveston so I suggested to stop by here for brunch on a Sunday. I noticed the waitlist on Yelp so I joined- 30 min wait, 4th in line not too shabby. We get there at the old Mall of the Mainland location, got inside and noticed there were so many empty tables open (some needed bussin) hostess and lady in charge apologized and said we will be seated right away. About 20 mins later, we were seated. We ordered the mimosa flight, was gonna try the Bloody Mary but will save that for the next trip! Our waitress was super personable. OMG pancakes were huge and my boys loved it. Breakfast burritos that hubby ordered was great, sans lettuce and sour cream. My Killer Creole omelette was def a killer! Too cheesy for my liking though. The beignets were a lil overcooked but still great. Overall a great experience. Chill vibes, super friendly staff, delicious food and drinks. Didnt realize that theyre a chain restaurant til later... felt like a mom n pop place because everyone was so warm and friendly. Definitely recommend when youre in the area!

3/5 due to service issues 5/5 based off the food. Our waitress seemed annoyed with us rather quickly. When I ordered our food I also order a mimosa flight. Our food came out and still no mimosas . After we were half way through our meal the drinks hit the table after I had to ask for it several times. Our server never apologized or acknowledged this. On top of it the mimosas were not mixed and I had to mix them with a knife at the table myself. At this point the wife was uninterested and the drinks were left untouched. Server did not even realize any of the issues. Now to the food it was absolutely AMAZING. I m gonna eat my left overs for lunch. Best breakfast sandwiches I ve ever had.

Visited on a Sunday morning around 11am. I recommend making a reservation for tables larger than 4 as we did have to wait just a short while until a larger table was available. The service and staff were welcoming, however, maybe the time we came in they might ve been short staffed as they were running around a lot. Food was also good. They didn t skimp on the vegetables at all. Jalapeno-cheddar grits were good but maybe a little dry. Serving portions are substantial, as you can see in my photos. The rest of our table enjoyed their meals. Definitely would recommend this place for brunch.

Went to Brick & Spoon today with high expectations however I was completely dissatisfied with my visit. First would like to start out by saying that I ordered their Irish coffee and a coke from them. The Irish coffee was disgusting and I ve never had a Irish coffee ever with creme de menthe in it. Secondly the coke I ordered was sickening sweet; so much so I couldn t drink it. For food I had ordered the banana foster beignets. I was so disappointed when those were brought out because they looked like doughnut holes, and were dense. Anyone who is from Louisiana or has visited New Orleans knows that beignets are square, airy doughnuts. And to add on to that they were so sweet from the sugary sauce on them that it was inedible. My mother had gotten the bananas in pajamas and she was also disappointed. As someone who came from the island she grew up eating these egg rolls made with plantain so she assumed they would be like that. Unfortunately they were wrapped in a thick egg roll wrapper instead of a lumpia wrapper, and they used regular banana instead of plantain causing it to be mushy. They also drenched it in the same sauce as the beignets were in and she as well said it was too sweet. My father had eggs, grits, and a biscuit and he said even that wasn t good. He said the grits were the consistency of mashed potatoes, the eggs just didn t taste fresh, and the biscuit was hard. Ultimately just very disappointed and with my total coming out to over $60 I can say it definitely wasn t worth it. Hopefully they change their cooking tactics for the better. But till then I won t be back.

Order burger no tomatoes med well with fries. Came out two huge slices tomatoes. No mustard or mayo 2 slices onion and 2 peaces lettuce. Took one bite into it meat rock hard over cooked and dry as napkin I was using to spit it into. Manager came to table was rude about all of it so Im say waste time money in my book.

Went for lunch, we both ordered shrimp poboys, one with just shrimp and bread and another with everything except tomatoes. When we got them both were wrong, waitress comment you know it will take some time to fix them, a couple minutes later my same sandwich was returned with tomatos removed. , After a bit of discussion I said I would like a fresh sandwich brought out at the same time my wifes was prepared. It was corrected but I still think I ended up with same original order of fries, lukewarm. Would like to try their French toast, but sometimes it takes awhile to chance a restaurant again.

I stopped by the new establishment to try thr beignets. I placed my order to go. When I opened the container with the poboy, I was surprised to see big jumbo size shrimps that made up the poboy. It was so good I couldnt eat it all. I truly enjoyed my meal and the beignets was good. The french fries was crispy also. Everything was delicious. I will go back to try others items within the restaurant next time. Kind staff and cozy atmosphere and the decor was really nice. Review #2: My husband and I decided to eat at this establishment before they closed. It was the day before mothers day. We ordered the chicken sandwich club w/fries and the French toast, a side of fruit, and grits. Everything was delicious. I added my spin on my French toast as you can see. The grits wasnt bad, Im just not a person fond of having corn in my grits. The service was excellent. We truly enjoyed it.

Was excited to find out there was a new place to check out close by. Check the menu it looked interesting place was very clean and fresh and new. Ordered the biscuits and the honey better to start they came out very hard and cold the honey butter was also cold. The person I was with asked the waitress if they were supposed to be cold she said no I ll have to tell them to turn up the burner light. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with the grits, I love grits I like to put butter salt and sometimes pepper and them. These were very sweet with corn not just plain corn more like cream corn from a can, came with no butter and no spoon. I did not eat much of the grits because they were way too sweet I gave half of my omelette to the person I was with because they ordered the breakfast with the two eggs and the toast and the potatoes. It looked like a child s portion for him and there was one slice of toast and two slices of overcooked bacon. He had a soda to drink and I had water for $37.50 this was not the type of breakfast I was expecting at all. I found out later some friends of mine went and got the Benedict s and said they were very good. I m not sure if I will try this place again because they were not scratch biscuits did not like the grits at all. There was a very small menu I ll have to really check it over well before I decide to go there again close to the house or not!
