The food is fresh at Hartz Chicken. I drive out to Texas City just to eat here and enjoy the Texas Gulf Coast. :- ) Vegetarian options: Iceberg lettuce, spiral pasta, coleslaw, okra, jello, pudding, white rice, pinto beans, and mashed potatoes. Dietary restrictions: Most of the items are not heavily salted except for the chicken wings, which are made with a red spice mix. I dont taste salt in the gumbo, mashed potatoes, pinto beans and rice. The turnip greens are lightly salted. Parking: Roughly 25 to 30 parking spots with at least 3 handicap spots up front.

I go there and eat all the time. The fried fish is the best! Right now Im on a low carb diet and get the buffet to go at $5.99 a pound. I usually spent $7. With the price of food at the store, that is a steal! I get baked chicken, beet tops, cabbage, green beans and one piece of fish. That is a nutritious meal!

This place is great, we drive from Galveston. Building is old but well kept. Every time I visit every thing is clean and employees are constantly cleaning and flipping the buffet line. Staff is made up of young kids but all are respectful and attentive. If you find yourself in the area it s a great deal on food and service, you would be a fool to pass it up! They don t have Tap in the drive thru I had my two kids in the car and the woman was rude about the fact that it s either get out and leave my kids in the car or leave, no exceptions. Ridiculous. And I ve been coming here for a while, the sides are subpar and the customer service is basically none whatsoever. They just hire anybody.

Im a big fan of this place. Its a fried chicken buffet. How could you go wrong. They have lots of options on the buffet. Fried gizzards, chicken livers, Buffalo wings, fried fish, baked chicken, and chicken tenders. And those are a lot of my favorites. They also have gumbo. Plus all the sides like collared greens, beans, rice, cabbage, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with white and brown gravy, and really, really good yeast rolls. The ice cream is just ok, but it goes great with the peach cobbler and bread pudding. All of this plus a full salad bar with fresh salad, dressing, coleslaw, and the usual dressing plus tartar and cocktail sauce. Jello and pudding are out there, too. They have a drive-through thats always busy, and lots of staff making sure that the restaurant is taken care of inside and out. This location is the one closest to my house, and its a regular spot for us. A great place to bring your kids because they will definitely find something they will like. If you dont like buffets, they have a regular menu that you can pick and choose whatever you want. If youre a fan of fried chicken and like a great choice of sides, this place should be on your list. Its a favorite of mine, and I dream of fried chicken.

Very good baked chicken, shrimp was decent, fish was really good, as well as the brown gravy (to my surprise, cause I typically don t eat brown gravy ..but they had a limited menu so I was like go for it ). EVERYTHING and I mean everything else, was not worth eating. I had the mac and cheese (taste like noodle water ), gumbo (had no flavor profile of traditional gumbo), dirty rice (which did not have flavor profiles of dirty rice), the chicken tenders were undercooked and gristley , and the peach cobbler was more a bread pudding with peaches.

The fish is amazing, the first thing i go to. Make sure to eat it with the tartar sauce, you wont regret it. The chicken tenders are also really good. The hot wings are actually pretty bad in my opinion, the rolls are good, mashed potatoes and gravy okay. The jalapenos are so fresh and spicy, i love them!

Cold mashed potatoes covered with warm gravy were not very appetizing my favorite baked chicken was cold. I informed two separate people nothing was accomplished. They did not care.Then one of them ca N e and mixed more mashed potatoes with old ones did not help temperature. Will be long time before going back. You see we were there at a prime dinner time. I wish they would have tried harder. Was always a favorite for me. I saw one girl throw apiece of macaroni on the ledge for trays back into the macaroni and stir it back in. Come on. $23 wasted.

Just left this place with my family. It was our first time coming friends recommended it. We got there at 8:20pm and the gentleman was asking us our kids age for buffet. Then a young lady all of sudden said we close at 8:40pm, and I told her that google said they closed at 9:30. First time ever been here and the food was not all that great, was very old. The livers were dried out. The gumbo was bland but spicy. The buffet line is very slim with a whole bunch of people crowding you. There are only a select few signs that were worth trying. The peach cobbler was raw or doughy but definitely undercooked and not sweet enough. The bread pudding was dry but somewhat good. Your best bet is to get the combo meals and call it a day. Plus there is no breasts options for chicken on the buffet

I called and asked the price for a large order, for a graduation party, in detail. I spoke to a very nice lady who quoted me a fair price. I went in today to place the order and a man, who he said was the manager told me it would be $60 MORE than what I was quoted. I told him that she quoted me a certain price and he said she s on vacation and this is how much it is. I felt extremely scammed by this place and plan on contacting their corporate office. Just left hartz on palmer, I ordered a gizzard livers mix. So after I order someone else comes along and ordered well done livers. So after waiting an extended length of time I get my food and go home and lo and behold every liver in my meal burnt. I called and spoke with the manager and told to bring the livers back not the gizzards so they are only replacing the livers not the whole order so hot liver and cold gizzards. I normally enjoy Hartz but never been to a location that changes your order to match an order for someone else or just replace the whole order.A decent manager would have handled it properly. Anyway the gizzards were good as for the livers tried one and they taste like they look trash.

Place dont look like much from the outside but trust me...if you walk out hungry its your own fault. Such good food!!!
