Rooms: Thin walls. Safety: Not safe. This place always props open Fire doors all day & night. They even disabled the ability to latch the doors, so if theres a fire, the fire & smoke-filled stairwells will not be safe exits, so choose the 1st floor for rooms. Apparently, they have been doing this for a long time, even after the Fire Marshall visits. Food and drinks: Bring your own, no breakfasts. Noteworthy details: Friendly desk person, lots of dogs in these suites, usually extended stays. Room was nice, had kitchens, but bathroom was not too modern.

My stay here was absolutely great !! My hubby was lifeflighted to hosp at s&w in temple been there for 2 wks & we actually live almost 2 hrs from temple. I had to use wheelchair & gr.kids & kids staying in shifts with me.when they werent able to be with me the staff took great care of me. All I had to do is call & they brought me whatever I needed. Staff & hotel made it a pleasureable stay for me. Rooms: Rooms clean & nice. Safety: Felt safe & secure

My stay here was horrible. On my arrival date my car was hit by someone when I was checking in, I asked the hotel manager Desiree to pull the hotel footage for me to get the license plate of the person but she never gave it. Heather lied to me about the time for loads to finish in the washer. As a result, another person moved my belongings and ruined a new silk dress, that I never wore. I explained to Heather and Isreal about this and they both treated me poorly and this was never resolved by the manager Desiree. She told me the owners would tell me how they would resolve these issue but I never heard anything. My white gold earrings were stolen from my room, I reported this to IHG corporate along with all the other occurrences and Desiree replied with a lie and no resolution. On my first morning of staying a guy parked next to me told me not to park in that area because his car was broken into and the hotel would not help him. The hotel staff here are incompetent and IHG does not regulate this hotel to make sure they are doing right by paying patrons. That is why I moved from this hotel to better accommodations in Temple.

I booked and paid through a third party, which my room and info was ready and available when I checked in. I was then charged again after the fact for the room without any contact by the hotel. I would have been fine with working this out if they would have just contacted me to let me know there was an issue rather than a charge for the room total just showing up on my credit card after the fact. So I have now paid for the room twice.

This hotel almost rocked it. First, let me say that check-in was a breeze. The room itself was clean and quiet. The hotel coffee actually was decent and saved me money. Service wise I didnt utilize any of the services. Location wise it is right down the street from the hospital. The one thing I really liked was the Dove liquid toiletries. The Wi-Fi was good. The poor star rating comes from two things. 1. Parking. It bites due to the small parking lot they have for guests. If I was not back to the hotel by 6:30 to 7 pm there was no parking left. The parking is worse if you are driving a truck. 2. This was a business trip. I was informed to make sure to get a government rate. When I called the hotel, about a month before my arrival I was informed that I was getting a cheaper rate than the government rate. When I checked out it was a completely different bill. Overcharged! I could not dispute the charges in person because of needing to check out and get to my workshop, limited staff that morning, printer issues, and four other guests checking out. The hotel nor IHG was not helpful when I called them directly to assist. I am having to cover over $60.00 from my own pocket and many of you know $60.00 hurts our wallets these days.

When we arrived the computers were down no big deal ( some of the red lights were out all over town as well) We were greeted by the lovely Nia Byars she was so kind and pleasant to deal with The room was wonderful cozy and smell very fresh Nia was so helpful In helping us find a good place too eat ! My husband graduated from Temple High in 1957 And this is his first visit back ! We really enjoyed our stay and our visit to Temple Thank you George & Daisy Huntington

Arrived and the whole hotel has an overwhelming scent that didn t agree with my nose and allergies. Rooms and bathroom are dated. Bath sink clogged up right away. Business center is quirky and will not print documents not a good place for a business traveler. Service was friendly but accommodations were sub par, even if it had a kitchenette. No breakfast by the hotel. You have to drive somewhere for decent coffee and breakfast.

So I ve never stayed in a Candlewood before and never will again. The check in process was a little crazy. But Royce was excellent and got us taken care off. The card wasn t syncing to the room so we had trouble with the door. But Royce put us on the first floor. So he fixed the issue. When we first walked in the room my wife said it was nice. My wife had just gotten out of the hospital and we decided to get a hotel before we drove 4 hours home. So we could rest. Well about 9:00pm the quest in the room next to us got a phone call and he was talking so loud we couldn t sleep. Every time we would doze off he would get louder and wake us up. We heard his whole conversation I called the front desk and James took the call and told us he would go and check on the guest to see who it was. Needless to say nothing was done. He proceeded to talk. It was about 1:30 am I went to his door. Before he came to the door I could hear him and the lady talking. He said who is this at my door you are about to hear me shoot somebody. The lady said yeah it s to late for somebody to be knocking on your door. SMH. He answered the door I asked him if he could be a little quieted. He continued his conversation until about 2:30 LOUD. So we got no sleep I was ready to go at 12:00am but my wife we not feeling well. We got up and left at 8:00am with no rest. I was really upset because James never got back to us about the situation or even asked us if we wanted to move. Those walls or paper thin. Then we woke up to no water. At this point I was over the situation and just want to get out.

Such friendly staff at this place; for that alone Id recommend it, but thankfully theres a lot more besides! Candlewood is a really great chain and has some solid amenities to give it the edge over the competition, including the quality of the kitchenette in the rooms, and the Lending Locker they feature in every location. Theres just a lot of attention to detail and a lot of effort to make things comfortable and practical - while still keeping prices low. The only quibble I had with our room at this particular location was that there were absolutely NO power outlets on one side of the bed. We made it work, and it IS only a quibble because the room was large and very comfy, but that seems odd these days when there are always devices to charge. A few upgrades in that area would be great. But otherwise - highly recommended. Rooms: Large and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchenette as standard in every room, including a full fridge-freezer. Safety: Very safe; free parking out front and a quiet area.

The night shift crew was amazing and the morning shift was amazing. I couldnt have ask for any better service than this hands down. My 13 and 11 yr old daughters stated the same thing as well. Rob and Quita I hope I am saying the names correctly. Quita was working this morning on 12/3 and her professionalism and friendliness was truly amazing. Rob was the gentleman that assisted me at check in and was wonderful with assisting my daughters get movies as well. We all was truly satisfied by the staff and Cleanliness of everything. We will definitely be coming back and staying for any future trips. Rooms: Very clean and everything was ready and if you needed any extra items they would help with getting you anything.

My husband is currently staying here, but will be moving hotels tomorrow. His stay so far has been full of irritating inconveniences. The first room he stayed in had roaches in it. Check your cabinets when you decide to stay here. He moved to a different room. Instead of them making sure this room was good for the rest of his stay, he then got a call from the front desk that he had to move rooms AGAIN a couple of days after due to it being booked prior. The tv was not working in this third room, and when he called the front desk they said they would be right up to look at it, which they never came. This hotel needs different management because it is absolutely terrible.

Ok hotel. Staff were friendly. Room smelled damp coffee pot was dirty and desk chair had a weird stain on the cushion. Maintenance tried to enter my room at 11:30pm. I asked for a room away from the elevator and was put right next to it.

Nia at the front desk is awesome! We showed up in need of a room last minute and she went above and beyond. Her upbeat and helpful attitude was a breath of fresh air after our travels. Locay is super convenient. Note: the hotel can be extreme busy due to its proximity to Baylor sw across the street so try to book in advance.

Nice rooms and dog friendly. I could do without the stairs in the front and the coffee was expensive. It was a small cup for 2 dollars, luckily you can make your own in the room. What is up with every hotel and towels? We had a double full-size bed and we had two towels. Safety: It felt safe and a good part of town. Food and drinks: The inside pantry and convenient, most things were reasonable except the coffee.

Stayed here for five nights to attend a funeral. Our main reason for choosing this place was the pet policy. They gave a military discount and the rooms were nice. Only complaint is the water pressure was not great and there was really no chair except for the office chair for the desk. Other than that, the staff was polite and the location was very central to anything in Temple. I would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed one month at Candlewood Suites Temple Texas. Let me start by saying, this is a great place to stay. I read some of the reviews on here and my husband and I never had one bad experience with this hotel or any of the staff. Quite the opposite in fact! Everyone, especially DANIELLE, made us feel at home and always was very helpful above and beyond and we could not have felt more welcome! We highly recommend this hotel and cannot wait to stay again. We were in Temple from San Antonio to attend my mother-in- laws funeral and burial. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were emotionally and physically drained. The Long hair, dirty beard and nasty fingernails clerk waited on us. He was totally unprofessional and extremely rude. This started off bad from the get go. Once checked in he handed us the key and my husband said what room and the clerk said its on the key. RUDE! The room was small, but exceptionally clean, nice linens, soft towels and nice TV etc. When we got ready to check out, same clerk, no thank you for staying with us, have a safe trip, nothing. We do not recommend this hotel and would NEVER STAY at another one. We will be sure to let our many friends and family know.

I stayed here in 2 rooms 9/8-9/11 Im a IHG DIAMOND ELITE REWARDS MEMBER my daughter left her laptop in the room when we checked out on 9/11...Braden at the front desk was very rude and tried to lie and say the laptop wasnt there. I asked to come look before the room was cleaned and he said no and said the laptop wasnt there...my daughter called and spoke to him after I did and all of sudden the laptop appears. He was trying to steal keep it for himself and he knew we wasnt having it...I came to pick up the laptop he did not greet me at the desk did not apologize at all and was very rude.

Stayed here for one night in room 207. The second floor hallway had a really strong rotten moldy smell. Room smelled ok though. The bathroom had a mold spot on the ceiling (see picture), The shower head stream was so strong it felt like it could take your skin off and with no way to adjust it. Also you could hear every step the people in the room took you took (very thin walls) Very annoying. No breakfast. Very expensive for what s offered. Will not stay here again.

One star at best. Stayed 4 nights due to surgery at the VA Hospital. When returning from my surgery staff was unaccommodating with getting us some ice for the small ice bag the hospital give . Which only holds 6 pcs. Of ice at a time. My wife went to the front desk and the young man there would not really give her the time of day and told she would need to go to a store and get some. Very unprofessional. We also had to get our cards rekeyed each day. Not good at all for someone just getting out of Surgery. Randy w.

Very large rooms almost like apartments big bathrooms ice makers in the large refrigerators dishwasher the laundry rooms are all free no it does not have a pool but the luxury of having an apartment while you are away on business is more than enough. Yes I would recommend this place to anyone that is having to stay for more than 3 to 4 days.

Reserved this room to rest between start times during my daughters tournament in the area. Attempted to check in around 2pm but was told rooms usually are not ready until after 3pm! Who still does this?! The parking lot was empty, it was an older hotel located in an off the path part of town and apparently had not ONE room available an hour beforEra. Ended up just walking out. Ridiculous practice that should have died 20 years ago! Dont waste your time, money or gas. Find a hotel that operates in the New era.

The staff was friendly and the location is convenient. The building is outdated and rooms are in need of some renovation, especially with newer hotels right down the road. The front entrance stairs are steep, sloped, and cracking. I almost fell carrying a suitcase up them. Our room was a handicap room, which I didn t like. No couch, no bathroom counter, nowhere to lay out hygiene products or unpack. The fitness center, laundry, and pantry areas are convenient but I would have liked a pool to use with my son. All in all, a decent stay but definitely in need of an upgrade.

My mom is currently in the hospital in town fighting for her life after being ambulanced from a smaller facility two days ago, and Anita thinks its a better use of my familys time to check out an hour early and look up all of the policies to educate ourselves. When approaching my grieving, elderly father screeching why we still had things in the room, she treated him like a child, speaking down to him, raising her voice, and even telling my dad to quit throwing tantrums. For a hospital affiliated hotel, the staff we encountered had absolutely zero empathy or hospitality. Ive never had to call corporate in my entire life until Anita belittled my entire family on our way to talk to my moms icu doctor. If you are planning on an extended stay here, especially hospital related, make sure you know exactly how long your loved one will be fighting for their lives, so you dont inconvenience the staff, specifically Anita, to do their job.

Remember, I am reviewing the room I stayed in. The room was nice, and clean. However the bed is shoved against the wall making it very hard to get out of the bed. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. Bed was hard and lumpy.

I spend a large amount of my life in hotels due to work. I stay pretty loyal to Holiday inn properties. This location is by far the worst managed hotel I have ever stayed at! I came back from a 12 hour work day to a broken mirror on my floor, when I went to the front desk and told them about it I was handed a broom and a dust pan and told to clean it up myself. When I asked for a vacuum they told me they couldnt get me one because the maintenance closet was locked. I had to call quest services to have something done about this issue. Thankfully they made the front desk clerk get us a vacuum. I will be checking out of this hotel and moving to another one for the next 8 months!!!

To expensive for the value. Reminds me if a Motel 6 on the inside. They cut a lot of corners. You do not get shampoo and soap and so forth. It is a community shampoo and soap are stuck to a wall and used by every person who comes I. There. Bathrooms are small. You literally can stretch you hands and touch the walls. The bathroom shower inclosures look like a mobile home plastic inclosure. I would not recommend them.

Beds to small they say queen but its really a full wanted to pay the extra $10 a day and talk to the manager to let him know I would and he told me just come in and put a card on file but when I got to the hotel I was told that all the king beds were taken but i look in the parking lot and its barely cars there. This is my first experience with this hotel and my last I will never choose a place like this again

A comfortable, clean, close stay for hospital visitors and travelers without breaking the bank. Tons of nearby dining options, several within walking distance. Rooms are quite spacious and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Rooms are well appointed for long term stays with outfitted kitchenettes. This is our second overnight stay in a months span and we will continue to book a room when hospital visits dictate we come to Temple early in the AM.

BED BUGS! Checked in after a long day of traveling & excited to get some rest before I had to get up early for work the next day.. pulled back the sheets and saw multiple bed bugs crawling around. Went to the front desk asked for a refund & the front desk lady did not believe me so I had to go back in the room and take pictures for proof before she would even consider giving me a refund. & I still had to pay some fees even though I only had been there for 30 minutes. I was extremely unhappy. Will never go back.

I usually enjoy Candlewood suites. This particular location insisted on a guaranteed room reservation that had to be cancelled 24 hours in advance. It was for that reason I cancelled my reservation as soon as I made it because I am not going to commit to paying for a room when I have never seen the property.

Room was clean and spacious and location was great But no Smart TV? How do they not have Smart TVs in the rooms? When you travel for work it would be nice to relax in your room after a day of work but how is there not a Smart TV to be able to watch whatever you would want to watch? The towels were also a little rough and not soft at all. But i was really wanting to watch Netflix before i went to bed and i couldnt.

My fiancé stayed here the night before our wedding. He asked the front desk if they would clean the room and bring some new towels for the wedding night when I would be staying with him. They REFUSED to clean the room, stating they only clean every 7 days. You d think with an ongoing pandemic they would be cleaning more often. Even with the pandemic aside, I ve never heard of a place refusing to make a bed and change out towels. A day after staying there, my fiancé and I noticed we had red bites all over us. Avoid this place at all costs.

I stayed there for two nights. The second day, I asked for turnover service because it was my wedding night and I wanted the room presentable. The man at the front desk told me no and said they only cleaned the rooms EVERY 7 DAYS. We respectfully went back and forth on the matter and he stood his ground. Fast forward a few days and my legs are covered in bed bug bites. The layout of the room was decent but the service and cleanliness were terrible. Do not stay here!!

Would benefit from training in greeting in the hospitality business. Further, attention should be considered on Spire Elite IHG members club. Free room upgrade, early and late checkout requests. Options for points such as welcome rewards or gift bag water etc. The property is peaceful and quiet along with being close to VA medical , veterans come here to attend their medical appointments.

Needs renovation NOW! Paper thin was allow you to hear guest next door. Crackinig elevator feels unstable. Cost too high for this substandard luxury. No ice maker in the halls. Took 3 hours for the refrigerator to make 12 cube of ice. Plus...rooms were clean.
