We really enjoyed Los Tios. The service was great! We were seated immediately, our orders were taken quickly, and our server checked on us often. The food also came out quickly and everything tasted great! We had the shrimp quesadilla and the beef enchiladas with rice and charro beans. I would definitely return outside of after-church hours just due to the line that formed at the entrance after we were already seated.

Los Tios has a really cool vibe, friendly service, and overall good quality dishes. The only thing holding this place back is their salsas and queso. The salsa is just okay but the queso pushes the limit of any queso being good queso. Kid-friendliness: Plenty of options including some non-mexican options. Decently priced as well.

I have been eating at Los Tios since it Open in 1970 era. When my wife and family started going to the Sugarland location with our family and friends, our waiter Jose has always been constant with our orders serving us with a great smile and personality. He knows exactly what we want and make suggestion on other items. Jose has been with yall over 30 plus years and know how to treat his customers and thank you for that! tonight, the manager Miguel was top notch by checking on tables throughout the restaurant and making sure everything was good and we were satisfied. Los Tios has officially fallen off. Enchiladas were burnt on the bottoms and unable to even cut with a fork, street tacos were cold and chewy, chips were stale and rice was undercooked, tamale was so dry that you couldve sworn it belonged in an MRE. For the price paid, this is completely unacceptable. Honestly if this meal were free, I still wouldve been upset that I wasted calories on this prison food. This restaurant used to be great. Those days seem to be a distant memory. There are so many better options in the area now.

I LOVED MY EXPERIENCE! My waiter Ernesto was absolutely amazing and super accommodating to a late night group! As a board member of the American Caribbean Chamber of Commerce we thoroughly enjoyed our first experience. I recommend any of the drinks...Delicious and well balanced. I went for the first time last Sunday and was very impressed with the service. Our server Blanca was amazing and helped with my order when it came out wrong. Party Room Review: Los Tios Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff who made us feel right at home. The managers Vanessa and Miguel were so helpful and accommodating with meal selection and booking. The party room was perfect for our special baptism celebration. Now, lets talk about the food wow! The fajitas fiesta buffet was sizzling and delicious, the guacamole was creamy and flavorful, and the sides of rice and beans were so good. Loved that they put food in the warmers too. The service was impeccable, with attentive waitstaff who ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Truly incredible with 40 guests!! Happy hour during the week until 7pm, great for their frozen house margaritas which are our favorite in Sugar Land, not sweet, well balanced with the tequila which you can actually taste. Our kids call this place puffy queso since they order the same thing everytime... we mainly go for the margaritas and chips and salsa... all their food has been good so far so just throw a dart at the menu and Im sure itll hit the spot. Their Sunday brunch is amazing as well, with pancakes for the kids who are picky eaters.

I ordered a lot of food House Guacamole, Katie s T-sip dip, Nachos Los Tios, Fajita Beef Stuffed Puffy Queso, Fajita Beef Quesadillas, Deluxe Taco Plate, and the item I was looking forward to the most Sopapillas. I m going to start with the Bad: I was so disappointed too. The Sopapillas description states Four lightly fried pastries, dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar . Served with caramel and honey. What I got was only dusted with cinnamon so they were spicy/tart even with the caramel and honey they were still not good. I challenge the owner or cook to try it like it was given to me to see what we experienced. If it was in fact a mistake then you all owe me an order of Sopapillas please :). Good: While I was waiting for my food I did notice who I believe to be the owner personally checking on the people dining in. $5 Margaritas was popping and must have been good because everyone had one except me lol. As far as the food everything was pretty good, but the star of the show was the stuffed puffy which was surprising and sad that I only bought one. I will be going back to dine in, try a margarita, and get better pics of the food. Still sad about my Sopapillas tho. If you order some be sure to check for that sugar and thank me later!!

We have been going to various Los Tios locations for decades. We ve used Sugar Land for most of the past 25 years, and more recently do take out most of the time. Enjoy, the food, margaritas and service. But the prices are getting prohibitively high, especially the fajitas and the simple numbered combos. I think $11.95 is too much for a crispy taco, cheese enchilada and queso puff. Also, when did they start adding a 5% paper fee?

I give Los Tios a 5 star even though for the very first time, as a returning customer, I had a problem with my meal. I came in with a friend and shared a picture of one of my favorite dishes here, to my surprise it was totally not what I was used to. Our server was great, her personality and attention to our table was good, the 5 star comes when I asked for a manager and Vanessa came to the table. She, too was surprised by my plate and made it right without hesitation, returning it to the kitchen, returning with plate I was used too and comped it as well! Kudos for customer service. Really good Mexican. They make great food the authentic way, do not baste everything with extra butter and garlic nor charge ridiculous prices like Pappasitos, Ninfas and Lupe Tortillas. First time here. Guy at the front didn t seem to like that I wasn t speaking Spanish back to him. I m not hispanic and don t speak Spanish. (I guess he judged a book by its cover). I sat down and another guy came out and put chips and salsa on the table. He didn t smile or say hi. Very rude. The place stays busy so maybe they don t think they have to provide a good value and skimp on portions. I used to go there frequently but the last straw was the taco salad with a tiny scoop of ground beef that s fit for a toddler. Give me a break. The server looked embarrassed when my wife pointed it out but laughed when she called the restaurant El Cheapos.

Was in Houston for the weekend and we stopped by Los Tios for lunch, the experience was WAY BETTER than expected. I ordered the green enchilada plate with homemade sauce and my son ordered combination quesadillas. Both dishes were SO DELICIOUS we left those plates empty! And to top everything off I treated myself to one of their mouthwatering strawberry margaritas, which was also sooooo good! Manager and wait staff were also very attentive and made the experience so much more enjoyable! Well definitely be stopping by every time were in Houston :)

I was charged $21 for three breakfast tacos. THREE. I have never paid more than $12 for my tacos at any other Mexican restaurant. They apparently charged me for bean and cheese tacos and then added on the potatoes and eggs as the additional which totaled over $8. I have NEVER been charged this way. This is so disheartening because this place is very close to my job but I will never be back. Make sure you ask for your total before you pick up otherwise they will charge you blind!

Food is always good here whatever you order. Maybe Thanksgiving week is not the time to eat here. Very crowded, had to wait 20-25 minutes for table. Service was slow and noise level too much for conversation, especially with tables close together. With a half dozen Mexican restaurants closer, its been a while since eating here. Used to eat at the one at Bissonnet & Fondren in the early 70s.

Los Tios is a Houston institution based on their puffy queso alone, if not their pralines. Dietary restrictions: The queso is not gluten free, but worth the reaction. I dont think there is a ton, but there is always some flour in all good queso. The special chips that come with special queso are usually flour tortillas. The enchiladas are usually corn.

We go to Los Tios in Sugar Land often (once a week or so) and we like the food and service. Also I like to sit on a table with a tablecloth and they have a very nice section with white tablecloths. They also can accommodate you with off the menu requests if you like - I order many times the deluxe taco on a large plate for instance (I dont eat much). Yesterday the 30th of August 2023 for instance we were served by Salazar that was excellent so are many others that serve us from time to time. In my opinion they serve the best grand golden margarita in Houston.
