Surprise, surprise. The Tex-Mex restaurant in Sugar Land, in my opinion one of the best in the Houston area Excellent food, good atmosphere. And a lot of customers. Tuesday-steak night, Wednesday - pasta night . And so on, and so on. Great margaritas. And on top of it reasonable prices. What else can you ask for. One more thing - their shrimp basket is unbeatable.

We got the Pulled Pork Sandwich and Fried Pork chops and it was amazing. The pork chops were so juicy and the seasoning was done perfectly. The pulled pork had BBQ sauce and it just meshed so well together. We will be back for sure!

Left a Dr. appointment early at about 9 AM and searched Google Maps to find open now and sort by distance, this place popped up first. After a short scouring on their Google Maps info I decided to try it. First off as a side note their parking lot is huge and goes deep so I don t think anyone will have trouble finding parking, the amount of land is the property sits on is just quite extensive. I saw what I learned later was the owner outside watering plants, I also saw him inside doing some other things. It seems as he has a good attention to detail, didn t mind rolling up his sleeves, and his staff was friendly and seemed happy to be there, good job owner! The entire menu was available to me practically as they opened at 9 AM. I started off with the southwest chicken egg rolls. Wow, these were quite amazing, I love was blown away by how tasty these were. You get 3 large ones which I could say would be easy to cut in half to make 6 pieces if you were to share with someone else. As I was contemplating what I should order next I saw a larger group of women (about 20-30) that seemed to have an arrangement for their own kind of set up meeting, in short I would say it seems this restaurant had the space and resources to host an event that gives your party space and doesn t interfere or interrupt their normal service. I checked out the space, saw a really comfy screened in patio with fans that led to a spacious backyard with children s playground equipment that looked to be in really good shape. There are several different dining areas on the interior and even more umbrella tables out front among the wonderful garden and Texas kitsch put lovingly about. New to TX and foreign to this area I decided to pop my cherry and finally try a Texas famous Chicken Fried Steak with sides of Mac and. Cheese and Fried Okra. Everything was outstanding. The gravy on top of the steak just rounded out such a high level of comfort I was getting from being this space, friendly atmosphere and wonderful authentic local cuisine. From what I can tell this is an easy recommendation for any time, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I went by myself but the amenities cater to groups easily and I can t wait to come back with friends. As 2 side notes, I did see a dog with a group on the covered back patio, as a dog owner I think this is great to allow your dog with you in certain sections (out front someone even had their cat). Just to give a heads up it is also a bit more counter serve style and pick up rather than full service but the staff was very attentive and helpful. Also the music was pretty much straight country, as someone new coming in to the genre it didn t seem like they were playing straight up commercial pop country but I did enjoy what I heard. I hope you try this spot in order to give them some more business that is definitely deserved and earned in my book.

This place has delicious food! You place your order at the counter and choose your seat. It s always very clean. Food always tastes fresh and so many country-style options. Visiting the area and choose to eat here on our way out. Gotta say, it was very delicious with the exception of a few things. First, I have to say the service was awesome, even as busy as they were, the service was top notch. We had pork ribeye, mac n cheese, coleslaw, Denver omlette, banana pudding and Italian cream cake. PROs: pork ribeye was thin, juicy and just absolutely yummo. The omelet was delicious as well. CONs: mac n cheese was a bit disappointing. The noodles were overcooked making them mushy, which I am not a fan over. It was just ok. The Italian cream cake was good, but on the dry side. This may be because it came right out if the refrigerator. I brought the rest home so will trying heating up a little to see if that helps. But again, it was good, I would get it again. OVERALL: I highly recommend checking this place out, you will definitely enjoy it! Kudos to all the staff for amazing service, job well done!!

Good food, but too much of it. The new owner Increased prices a while back. Later, added fries to each sandwich and increased prices again. OWNER reply - substitute. What, if you do not want the extra food, the extra fat nor calories. What if the customer does not want to pay for extra they do not need or want? Too bad as you are paying regardless. How about discounted price for SANDWICH only? Used to be a go to place. Now, not so much...RESPONSE To Owner. Two things to consider. . If it comes on the plate, most will eat the extra calories especially since they paid for it. Look at the customers: Do they need, should they consume the extra calories. Al a Carte? Charged the same price for the burger/sandwich with or without the fries.

This is another hidden gem !!!! The food, location and atmosphere were all good in my book !!! The food is lightly seasoned and cooked to perfection!! You also get Texas sized portions @ very affordable prices. The atmosphere is very family friendly and inviting to everyone. The cashier is rude. The cashier last few times is rude not friendly not welcoming not approachable. I been 10 times I always get pecan crushed chicken. Tonight, I ordered a BLT. The bacon was deep fried until rock hard. I could not pick it up even one time, before the bacon shattered, and everything fell out of the sandwich. This was the worst BLT I have ever had. The blue cheese makes it taste good, but it is not even a sandwich. It is some floppy toast, and a bunch of messy stuff. Again: the bacon was rock hard.

This place has very nice and friendly staff. I like the rustic atmosphere as well, and the short wait time for food, but the jalapeño chicken burger was really not it. Quite disappointed to find that the burger had fruit jam in it, which was not mentioned when I asked the server what it came with. Went here for the first time ever yesterday and the food was delicious! I also liked the outdoor eating space and benches. One problem though that ruined my experience and that was they gave me the wrong burger. I ordered the boss hogg which on the menu is two 8 oz patties, but instead I was given the boss which is three 4 oz patties. When I went back to get the burger I ordered the guy was kind of helpful, but I felt like he didn t believe me when it was a mistake on their end. I was hungry and ready to eat, but idk I wonder if it was honest mistake or if they were trying to skimp out on the 4 oz beef difference in the burgers and hope it would go unnoticed. The juicy-ness of the burger just didn t make up for the blunder, especially after you tip when you place your order.

Weve never sat inside, but youll have to pick up your food at the window next to where you order, as well as silverware and napkins. Today there was a group that reserved the entire patio, which inconveniences those going to the playground as its a long way around to the front. I come here all the time. Wednesdays they have a cook that makes pasta in front of you and it s delicious. The burgers are a hit or miss depending on who is working: Saturday and Sundays they have a wonderful selection for breakfast. I have to say every time I switch out my bacon for eggs with no issues. Whenever the manager Daniel is working he always up charges. I ve never met someone so rude to their customers. I m not sure who put him in charge due to lack of kindness, effort, and accountability. I gave this rating mainly because of Daniel. Whoever owns this place needs to have a serious conversation with how he treats their guest. Not impressed Edit:It would make more sense to switch out my bacon for eggs. Eggs are cheaper than bacon in today s economy and not everyone eats meat. Thank you again for addressing the issue.

Stopped by here Wednesday this week and had the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes and mac n cheese. Food was really good and was quiet filling. Stopped by again today Friday and had the seafood platter blackened with the mashed potatoes and mac n cheese and was really good as well. This is one of my new favorites now when working in the area. This place does get busy during lunch time so please be patient it is worth the wait.

Went there because my father loved going there. We went after his funeral to get together and enjoy one of his favorite places. Great food and service. Was glad to kind of experience something my dad loved and be with family and friends to remember him. Thank you

Excellent quality food! Service is always good. Be warned, they get VERY busy during lunch on weekdays. So come early or later unless you like a crowd.

I had such an incredible time at this place for Sunday brunch with my wonderful husband and adorable kid! Let me tell you, the food was absolutely mouthwatering, and the prices were super reasonable. The atmosphere was just delightful, and guess what? They even had a playground for the little ones to have a blast! I cant wait to bring my parents here soon.

They have a much broader selection than you would anticipate. There is always seating even when crazy busy. Parking seems impossible but is possible. The outside seating just doesnt always get wiped down. Bathrooms have never been lacking.

Old style diner with an amazing menu...if you cant find something for everybody on this menu, you have a very picky eater in your group. Outstanding kitchen, counter service, a lot of outdoor tables, an area set aside for kids with a mini playground to keep them entertained with something other than a tablet or smart phone! You wont be disappointed, I promise. Kid-friendliness: Outdoor area with mini playground.

This was our first visit on our way home from a doctors appointment. My husband and I shared the mixed grill - chicken breast, pork chop, and sausage with cole slaw and steamed mixed veggies. DELICIOUS and plenty of food for the two of us! Looking forward to coming back. Kid-friendliness: There is a nice outdoor dining area with a kids playground - perfect for families to enjoy together.

One of our favorite places in Sugar Land to visit. Good drinks for adults, a nice playground for kids, and excellent food for everyone. They even have an outdoor enclosed patio with air conditioning/heating that welcomes dogs! Staff are always very attentive and willing to assist.

Our family went here Saturday. There were 15 of us total, and this team at Live Oak handled everything with not one single hiccup! Great place to eat, visit and play with the kiddos. I cant limit my choice of what was good to eat because there wasnt anything that was not delicious. Thank you for the best experience.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the bacon cheeseburger Toppings were very fresh. The burger was dry and unremarkable. The bun was from a Hillcountry Fair bag. (I didnt see one, but... come on, you know it when you taste it.) This is where we choose to go with My son home from college for the weekend. He ate about half his chicken fried steak and didnt bring the leftovers. But the place was packed, so its obviously popular. I did see that they had a kids play area outside.
