My fiancé and I came here for an awkward photo shoot and Marva was great to work with. She explained everything thoroughly from the poses to our digital/print options. I had a lot of fun working with her. She was also busy, but customer service was still great!

The JC penny portrait at this location was just wonderful. They were patient with our dog and toddlers, they stayed open till we could finish. Really appreciate the portraits team here. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for good photos.

EDIT Ive reached out to JC Penney and they offered a new session and photos to another photo studio and I accepted. I appreciated their understanding and offer. Absolute waste! Every opportunity to take a picture of my smiling girl was never used, instead the photographer wanted me to force my 1 year old to smile on cue. The top of her head is cut off, her arms cut off, some ugly brown filter was used making her washed out instead of blue eyed and rosy. Photographer spent more time fighting us to get her to sit on the red dot and when we finally did and she was smiling the photographer wanted her to hold several seconds before she took the picture. By that point my 1 year old naturally lost attention and her smile. It was a horrible first photo shoot experience and Im absolutely unsatisfied with all the weirdly posed, filtered, even grainy, photo package we ended up with. Im livid we bothered at all and even gave the benefit of doubt when we purchased a photo package. The photographer even insisted I pose in the pictures, clearly I was not dressed to be in any photo. Do not waste your time or money this is not the experience we had several years ago. I could have taken cuter pictures with my phone by myself but I wanted posed and high resolution photos to print and display. I wont be displaying these.

After having done a family session here back in 2012, I made my parents and brother come back in 2022 for updated photos before I move out of town. Though we were taken in a bit later than our scheduled time, we had an overall pleasant experience with the photographer/employee. She was the only person working that day, but she made us feel comfortable, not rushed at all, walked us through many poses and then patiently went through the process of purchasing the photos we wanted afterwards. I have enjoyed the 2 times I ve used JCP Portraits because I like the quick and simple process and reasonable price a 20-minute appointment, one little studio, and then buy the photos we like.

One of the worst place I did my photo shoot ever with my newborn it is in Sugarland location.2 year before o did my daughters new born photo shoot in Rosenberg location it was great photos.But yesterday I did my 2 baby newborn photos in Sugarland location it was horrible not good at all,I don t suggest Sugarland location .Its waist of money and they don t have much patience to kids,

Customer service was okay but session seemed rushed. The picture quality was subpar even though we were told we would receive high resolution pictures. The photographer was also not observant to minute flaws in the picture setup. Thus, the services rendered didnt justify the amount spent. This is because I have taken pictures in other places at lower prices and the output was so much better than JC Penney Portraits. I am extremely disappointed as I expected so much more.

Have been taking my sons photos every year since he was about 7 and hes now 14. The staff is super friendly and always go beyond the extra mile to make each yearly photo different in a very special pleasing way.

Terrible experience getting a headshot. None of the photos turned out even remotely decent. I expressed my disappointment at the session and the photographer could not care less. $85 down the drain and now I need to hire a professional.

Unprofessional and not very patient with my 2 year olds. Had to reschedule and then on second attempt the lady continued to have an attitude. Was not able to get pics either time. Will not be returning to this location.

Our appointment was for 11:30. Arrived at 11:25. Another family was taking portraits. We were not called back until after 12:20. Toddler screaming, upset, bored, and ready for a nap. We should have already been done. Horrible service.

My family and I have been using JCP portraits for over 10 years. We have been to several locations and had several photographs. When I say that I have never been more pleased with photographer, I mean just that! Karen at the First Colony Texas location is absolutely amazing!!! Very friendly, Very professional, and her attention to detail was phenomenal! She went above and beyond to make sure that I had the best picture appointment. She climbed on a latter to get different angles, she made sure my hair was well placed in every pose, she made sure my little mommy pudge didnt show. Absolutely hands down the best! I am so grateful to her. Needless to say the pictures were absolutely stunning and I could not choose so I bought the digital downloads. So so happy with my pictures and the customer service that I received. Thank you Karen, you are amazing!

After having a somewhat (ok, VERY) disappointing experience with Portrait People at Sears, I was hesitant to try another department store studio. However, I needed maternity photos and found a Groupon for the JCPenney studio I couldnt pass up, so we gave it a shot. I am SOOOO glad we did. Even though we booked the last slot of the day, the photographers were welcoming, friendly and energetic. They didnt rush us, and the pictures came out fantastic. Also, GREAT with my toddler. She was able to get some great expressions, even with dad rolling around on the floor trying to help (causing a huge distraction). I HIGHLY recommend the Sugar Land location. We will be back, for sure!
