This hidden gem is nestled in the heart of Sugar Land and despite living here for years, I never wouldve known that it existed. Its off the beaten path but was a nice oasis of solitude and tranquility. The location is within minutes of First Colony Mall, a plethora of restaurants of all price ranges ( from fast food and moderately priced up to Vic and Anthonys). There are plenty of other local and national banks, shopping and all of the services you can imagine- although theres not too much in the immediate walkable distance. I visited for a retreat and it was the perfect spot! The rooms were clean and inviting and the view from my room was unexpectedly refreshing including the bonus with people rowing on the river early in the morning. The lobby was very inviting and was a central meeting spot although the only issue I took was when a friend cut her finger on the back of one of the chairs, the person at the front desk wasnt as responsive as I think he couldve been- which is why I took off for service. It was a pretty deep cut too! But all in all, when I need another staycation, Ill definitely keep this hotel in mind! Nearby activities: The stadium for the Sugarland Imperials is less than 7 minutes away, as is the Childrens Museum. There are plenty of walking trails and areas close by. Food and drinks: There is a bar/ bistro at the hotel but as you can imagine, theyre not open too late. But there are plenty of options within very close proximity of the hotel. Youre no more that 5- 10 minutes away from most options most could want!

I have been moved to another room, but it has been zero follow up from the hotel management. I ve been following up and trying to get the understanding what needs to be done to avoid an infestation of my house when I travel back home . Rooms: BED BUGS !!!

Reading unpleasant comments about the cleaning and in truth that with that cleaning supervisor they have is a horror she gives more than 20 rooms to the poor ladies and with 6 hours that is why there is no good cleaning in case a very bad person runs to the staff for nothing alone Because she is bad, I worked there and I had a bad wait, thank God I am not needy and I have more opportunities but people like her should not have a position like that, poor people who work as cleaners, mistreat the worker without electricity in the hotel and she puts Working like this was a horrible experience

I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Sugar Land, and I have to say it was a highly disappointing experience, especially considering the exorbitant price of $330 per night. This is more than double the rate of similar quality hotels in the area, which typically charge around $120 per night. The GSA rate for this location is $122, making the overcharge even more unacceptable. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the front office staff was not very knowledgeable or helpful. The front desk attendant had no idea about GSA rates and was generally unaccommodating. Furthermore, the housekeeping policy is shockingly subpar. As indicated in the attached photo, housekeeping only comes to clean the room every seven days unless you specifically call and request fresh towels or trash removal. This level of service is unacceptable for a hotel charging such a high rate. Overall, the quality of service and the amenities provided do not justify the price. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodations in the Sugar Land area.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I got into the hotel super early; like 10:30 a.m. and the computers were down so the young lady at the desk couldn t check room availability for me. I did have a reservation, but wanted to know if I could check in early. She offered for me to sit in the lobby area and wait for the computers to come back up. She said it could take a few hours. I wasn t too keen on that idea, but what other option did I have in the moment. No sooner than I sat down she came to tell me the computers were back up. I was able to check into my room and I was too happy. The room was nicely decorated. A lot of hotels are minimizing the number of items that are left out. The microwave and fridge were inside cabinets. The closet was a decent size and I really liked my view. What I didn t like though ..the coffee maker in the room was disgusting. It looked like it had not been cleaned in months. I was just about to make some coffee when I looked inside and changed my mine because I became sick to my stomach. There was some information in the room that said they offered a shuttle. I called down to the front desk and requested to go pick up some food. The driver was named Reginald. He was so kind and helpful. He took me to two restaurants and a store. By the time I got back, I had food, drinks, and some snacks. I ate my food next to the fire pit and then retired to my room to end my night. The hotel backs up to some water and people were kayaking. It was a beautiful site. There are several places to shop and eat within 5 minutes of this hotel. I also found a lot of things to do online. If I had been staying for the weekend, I definitely would not have been bored. The staff here were so nice and helpful. I d stay here again if I were in the area.

My stay was 4-13-2024 to 4-15-2024 I originally booked my stay through Capital One. Later on I called and spoke with Kent to add my Marriott member number to take advantage of the early check in and late check out. He said I won t get any points. I will however get nights counted towards my account. (Found this out to be untrue) Upon check in. It took over 20mins to get checked in. Cause the lady at the front desk didn t quite know what she was doing. She asked me if I wanted free breakfast or points. I was confused by this but took the points. (Found out from Capital One that breakfast was included in my stay). Ended up charging my card 3 different charges. 150.00, 1.00, and 50.00. Upon check out it took more time. Days later the 50.00 and 1.00 charge fell off. The 150.00 dropped down to 122.36 stayed. I called back 4-17-2024 several lady s that handed the phone back and forth to each other it kept saying the 122.36 was for a bar charge. Another lady said its just how the incidentals charge is. It will fall off. I called back and on 4-20-2024 Talked with the same lady s again. They said it s for room damage charge and bar charge. Another lady said it was a room charge plus bar charge. At that point I was aggravated. Asked for a manager. DANIEL supposedly corrected everything. The initial check-in lady ended up charging my room for 1 night. Someone ended up charging my room for bar and snacks. They were supposed to charge some mastercard for whatever 3rd party travel party Capital One uses. He assured me that the charge will fall off 5-7 days. As of May 1st nothings fallen off. I called and left a voicemail for DANIEL 4-29-2024. Tried calling twice today. May 1st and they wont answer my calls. Actually picking up and hanging up. Attached screen shots of the calls.

This is my go to place to stay in Sugar Land. The location is convenient, and the rooms are functionally comfortable. Price varies, but is generally fair. The bistro has a limited selection, but everything Ive had is remarkably good. Service is prompt and friendly. If they have it, I highly recommend the chicken piccata! Rooms: Functional and comfortable. Regular King rooms may be a tight squeeze for couples and families. The bed is close to the wall, and there is limited space for suitcases. Nearby activities: Walking path and restaurants are nearby. Convenient to everything in Sugar Land. Food and drinks: Limited selection, but service and flavor is very good. I m a lifetime Marriott member but whenever I get extraordinary service I always write a review to give Kudos to those who deserve it, and all 3 of these folks truly deserve it. They made me a special dish for dinner tonight, which I ve never seen at a Courtyard Bistro before, and they were all just so very professional and hospitable it really validated why I don t stay anywhere else than a Marriott brand hotel, and I look forward to coming back and staying here again next month. Thank you Alex and Bridget and Ray for making my stay so pleasurable. You are all an asset to the Sugar Land Courtyard and to Marriott International! Rooms: Clean and new and nice! The room I was given flooded and soaked all my clothes in my luggage bags. I had to spend time washing them all and buy a new bag to let my other bag dry out. This cost me nearly the price of rook itself. I wasnt moved rooms due to fully booked hotel nor offered refund to just check out only a $10 discount, so had to endure the mold smell that night along with not running ac due to heavy leak. Thus was handled poorly and very inconvenient, I would also note the elevator had a mold smell. I checked out the next day early since it was handled so poorly and moved to another property nearby.

Although she didn t seem to speak English when we asked her for towels she threw her hands in the air and shouted wait! On top of that, I called the front desk a couple times each day to check on cleaning, and no one ever answered the phone. When I spoke with people at the front desk in person, they apologized and confirmed that daily service was planned, and that it would be done. Even after talking with them, the room was not cleaned. Overall it was overpriced for the service provided and the customers service was awful. Id suggest staying somewhere else.

Never stayed at a Marriot before and wont stay again. Hotel appearance was OK but no breakfast or at least free coffee would have been nice with the price of the room. Bought coffee in the morn and they couldnt even return 20 cent change return. The room was nice and had comfortable beds. The outdoor fire pit should be turned on at dark for the guest. It also had cigarette butts in it that they could clean out. Pool was very tiny and not inviting so didnt swim. Ive def stayed in much better hotels at the same price.

Lovely hotel and FANTASTIC staff. We accidentally left a pillow behind..this pillow was very beloved by my daughter. The staff located the pillow and ask that I email them a return postage label and they took care of the rest. A lot of hotels would do this, BUT they would not doing it with a smile. These folks are going out of their way to be pleasant and accommodating. People make the difference!

I want to start off my saying I chose Marriott since they are known for exceptional service and immaculate rooms, however this was not the case for Marriott at lake point. I found roaches crawling on the walls so I started looking at the linens to check the cleanliness and conditions of the room, the mattress pads on both bed were ripped on both corners and there was hair. The refrigerator only gets cold if u press the button and only stays on for 2 hours which spoiled all my food. The Wi-Fi which is an Amenity that they offer was out for most of my stay therefore I lost a days worth of work. The water in the sink barley came out and there was no cold water. I did make the front desk aware of the issues I was having, at the end of my stay I spoke with Daniel about my stay and he immediately invalidated all of my concerns and his explanation for the roaches crawling on the walls was the heat bring the roaches in and he treated me as if I was lying. He asked me what prompted you to look at the mattress pad? And I told him since I seen roaches in my room I wanted to look at what I would be sleeping on. He did not offer me any resolutions or compensation for my stay, for a general manager this is very poor costumer service and is unacceptable. If you are in the area I DO NOT RECOMMEND you stay at this hotel because it is DISGUSTING and management will not be of any help.

Good location, clean, nice front desk staff. Biggest issue for me was the loud AC unit that would keep me up all night. I could turn it off completely but then the room would be too hot as my stay was in the summer.

Terrible experience! I stayed for two nights and specifically requested for the room to be cleaned and new towels and was told that I was on the schedule and it would be done. None of that happened. I complained to the front desk and they promised that I would receive a phone call from the manager that didn t happen either. Stop over promising and under delivering.

This is a wonderful hotel. For the price you pay, you get a good location, clean rooms and it s just what you need. Features a 24/7 fitness center, a pool (pretty small so expect it to be big), and a little cafe (don t plan on eating there, it s not much from what i ve seen. Maybe for a quick bite.) Anyway, I d stay here over the Hyatt Place next door, as we have stayed there before and it isn t as clean. Would recommend.

Not impressed with this Marriott in the area. No change of linen or room service when asked, apparently they provide a full room service once every 7 days! So if you have a short stay forget about getting room service or change of towels. The front desk is rude and does not entertain any calls, all they are taught to say is it s their policy. I d rather stay elsewhere, don t stay at this hotel!

Do not stay in the hotel. If you check in after Midnight they will cancel your room, not refund you and will force your employee to pay out of pocket to stay at the hotel. I normally love Marriotts, but this is the worst myself or my employees have ever been treated!

As a Marriott Bonvoy member, i am very disappointed. I have been in my room for 7 days and have been unable to have housekeeping change my sheets and vacuum the room. The cleaning lady stopped by once but barely touched anything. I finally gave up asking and will take my business somewhere else. The people on the front desk seem as it they do no care either...

Their managers are never available to help. Stayed there in November on points and they put a charge on my account. I realized that, and tried to get answers from them, but they never responded. They put a charge on my account without reflecting in the receipt and without informing me about it. So far, neither this facility nor Marriott is able to give me my money back, or explain to me why they charged me. If you stay in this place, make sure you check that there are no uninformed/unauthorized charge on your account. Their management is no where to be found and they wont listen to you or handle your queries.

Really writing this review because Im pretty miffed about laundry. Stayed at this hotel for over a month, and from start to finish, I have not had access to laundry. I had already gone to the laundromat once but I didnt feel particularly safe given than I am not a local. I had an understanding front desk clerk inform me that they could do laundry on the premise for my sake. I was quite glad for this arrangement. I had been told to bring the laundry tomorrow after speaking to front desk. To my dismay, the front desk lady did not budge at all. Not one inch. I get it, its a little bit unconventional but youd figure youd get a bit of favor for such a long stay, right? The washer has been broken for a month. I get it. Shipping is difficult right now. But you cant work with me here? Really?

This hotel has the worst service in everyway possible. The sheets had blood, the AC was very loud you cant sleep at all from it or talk on the phone. I talked to the front desk about it and said they will send maintenance and change the sheets and came back 5 hours later with nothing done. I went back to the front desk and the lady was so rude and trying to avoid talking to me. I even asked her for clean sheets and change them my self. I requested to speak with a manager but there was no manager working and requested for a manager to call me but they never did. I am a platinum elite member and stay at lots of Marriot hotels but by far this is the worst and did not treat me with respect. I submitted my feedback and the manager emailed me with an apology after I put the feedback but they did not do anything about this at all. At this point they are ignoring it its like they dont even care about their guest or or your status. They eventually switched my room to a room that smelled very bad. I was not able to relax and enjoy my stay, they wasted alot of my time trying to deal with them and just getting clean bed sheets and an AC Fixed.

There is a woman that works here in housekeeping by the name of Martha who is extremely prejudice. She has told other employees that she isn t hiring African Americans anymore. She also made a comment that the bathrooms are oily because African Americans take showers in them speaking in reference to their skin. Four African American ex-employees have left because of her. Complaints were made to upper management about her that have fallen on deaf ears. If you care anything about your African American employees and guests, you will get rid of her. This is completely unacceptable behavior towards anyone.
