The BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Houston is a stunning architectural marvel, showcasing intricate stone carvings and traditional Hindu craftsmanship. Built by the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), it serves as a spiritual and cultural center for the local Hindu community. The temples serene atmosphere and beautiful gardens provide a peaceful space for prayer and meditation. In addition to religious services, the temple hosts cultural programs, educational activities, and community outreach initiatives. Its a significant landmark for both spiritual seekers and those interested in Indian art and culture.

This is one of the more so traditional Swaminarayan Temples that one can visit across the United States, India, and possibly the world over. Their evening Aarti is one of the more divine experiences, and post-Aarti and Darshan, one can always enjoy delicious vegetarian food at the local Shayona Café (Cafeteria). One of the biggest advantages of Stafford, TX temple is that one can always enjoy being outdoors on temple grounds post/before Darshan and Aarti. At one point, they all used to have peacocks on temple grounds. Again, it is a divine experience to visit the Swaminarayan Temple in Stafford, TX.

Definitely worth a visit. A wonderful Hindu temple that will be breath taking to see from the inside. There is a sense of peace and serenity in and around the temple that is hard to explain. The only way to get it is to visit it when in Houston. The people working there are very friendly and helpful. A definite recommend.

The Swaminarayan Temple is a stunning and serene place of worship. The atmosphere inside is truly awe-inspiring, offering a peaceful and spiritual experience. Every Hindu should make it a point to visit this temple. Its remarkable how the founders have preserved and upheld our culture and traditions here in the USA. Truly grateful for their efforts.

If i will talk about temple, undoubtedly it is marvellous beautiful architecture , we reached there at Aarti time , they made us sit gender wise bt the strange thing is dat wen my 3 years daughter sat with her father in male section dey created objection which is personally we felt very odd.How u can judge a small kid gender based nd now about shayona cafe from where we bought jalebi with other eatables and at home wen we tasted , it was spoiled nd sour in taste .Generally people prefer to buy eatables from within the temple with the thought dat we get quality things bt in our case we disappointed. please check your packing before selling to customers for health concerns

We visited this temple with our 5-month-old Goldendoodle puppy. While we were walking our dog on the lawn, one of the personnel showed a dismissive attitude towards our dog which I dont like at all. Despite there being no signs indicating that pets are prohibited, we were still told that we couldn t have our dog on the lawn surrounding the temple. Our pet is a service animal, and we had no intention of taking it inside the temple, yet they still did not allow us to walk the dog around the premises

The Temple in itself is very nice.. exemplary piece of architecture. There is a saying that god resides in detailing.. you can surely notice that detailing here. Online it says open till 7PM, but in real.. 7PM is the Aarti time, it only opens at 7PM. Aarti was nice. Although I am Hindu, I am from north so I am not well familiar with the customs and beliefs of Shri Swami Narayan followers.. the oddest thing is women sit in back and men sit in front separately. Never seen this in any other temple.. so expect sexism, I am sure they have some story behind this. Other thing is during Aarti, one women asked me to move around a bit.. basically suggesting me to sit where she pointed. Which was weird to me. Secondly, my bf was bowing to the lord while standing at the edge of Aisle (not during Aarti) coz people were sitting in front and it s easier view with standing and one women kept telling him to sit, he moved to other side , she said again to sit, he moved to the extreme corner of other end of Aisle and she rudely said either sit or leave. You d expect you will find peace in such places, but peace is never associated with the place but the people in those places. So expect some rudeness around, although I am pretty sure they don t have bad intentions but whatever there are no signage of these rules around anywhere of standing / sitting etc. Except the section for women and men. Few of my other friends have also experienced sexism while getting pooja for new car. Also, photography is prohibited inside. So go, walk around, embrace the architecture, pray to the good lords for some wisdom, patience, love and goodness. Parking is pretty far too, expect to walk a bit.

We went on weekdays with family at Aarti time in the evening. When you enter the BAPS Swaminarayan temple, the environment filled with peace, serene. You will have instant spirituality experience inside you. The architecture Constructed from thousands pieces of meticulously hand carved Italian marble and Turkish limestone. it is a masterpiece of traditional Hindu design and exquisite Indian workmanship, its peaceful and spiritual place of worship. Temple has status of other Hindu God and Goddess(Shree Ganesha, Shiv & Parvati, Radhe Krishana) other than Swaminarayan. You can perform Abishek to Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Volunteers and the people devoting their life for Temple are really doing great duty everyday, also welcoming in nature and caring guests really well. Photography is not allowed inside the temple. I must recommended to visit the BAPS temple oftenly if you are living nearby place.

We got to learn about and experience a beautiful history and religion - all of the staff were so welcoming, informative, and happy to answer any questions we had. You are able to take pictures outside the temple, and but not within - it is absolutely worth it to go inside and see the carvings in the marble that make up the entire temple. You could spend days exploring the carvings and still not take in all the detail.
