Wrong tortillas were served. The waiter even said he was serving corn tortillas when it was actually flour. Chicken was overcooked. My wife complained she couldnt cut the chicken in her taco. The frozen Margarita tasted exactly the same as another restaurant serves but was more expensive and the glass was not filled (photo shows the glass before sipping). A family member warned us he didnt like this place but added it had good reviews. Enough said!

They say everyone here is family... Well I hope they treat their family better than we were. We waited 10 minutes for our drink order while the staff took shots. My husband and I frequent Jhonnys in St. Paul, Tx. We normally ever have any issues with service or food. On Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, the service, food and night manager were extremely disappointing. Our food was brought out to us barely even warm. My order was input incorrectly by the bar host. Once we found her long after our food was brought to us, we let her know right away the issues with the order. She then went into the kitchen and spoke with the night manager, a Hispanic young female. After approximately 5 minutes later the bar host apologized on behalf of the manager and brought out some heated beans and rice only after we had finished our meal. This was supposed to fix our order? The manager never came and spoke with us nor apologized to us. As we were leaving all she said was have a good night. To the manager and staff; It only takes one time to make a bad impression that results in reviews such as ours.

Johnny s is a great local pub to go to, I m glad to see that they recently did some work to the place because it is an older building, however, the food is excellent. It comes out very quickly. The drinks are great they do free pours, which is awesome and the people that go there are the neighborhood folks so it s a great atmosphere I highly suggest you give them a try.

We came to Wylie to visit family and decided to try a new place just down the street. Its a small, unassuming place from the outside. We walked in, and were immediately greeted by the nicest man. He quickly sat us, and upon asking for suggestions, he told us his favorite menu options. I wish I remembered his name, but unfortunately I dont. I think he was the manager, but not certain. We tried a few things at his suggestion. And I had the best queso ever. Everything we tried was fantastic. Staff is wonderful. Cannot say enough great things about this place. Wish I was closer so I could go more often.

The food was amazing. My wife and I were born and raised in Southern California and food was exactly the experience we were looking for. The shrimp was great and the salmon tacos were simply amazing. My wife who is of Mexican heritage said the beans and rice were the best she has had since we moved to Texas in 2007. Cant wait to try more of the menu.

Nice to be back after my last visit 6 years ago. Lots of my favorite eateries were lost to COVID pandemic lockdown. Im very happy that Jhonnys Mexican restaurant has endured. Hard to find rustic small hidden gem with good food and flavor these days. The staff is quite lively and full of charm and quite hospitable. A tad dark inside, be cool if they had color lighting to enhance the murals on the walls and sky painted ceiling that has so much atmosphere. Love the patio and its perfect on a cool evening. Sadly, the restrooms have no personality. Be cool if all three restrooms had different themes. Unique and highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Good to have options.

WOW. The food here was really amazing, and reasonably priced compared to what you would get at any typical Mexican restaurant. This is a true hole in the wall place to eat, but the food will not disappoint. The chips and salsa are pretty standard fare, but they also give you a cup of spicy avocado salsa to dip your chips in which tasted fantastic. The dish I got was the the Gordos special, which included a sour cream chicken enchilada, a cheese enchilada and a ground beef enchilada with rice and refried black beans included. It was really fantastic. I especially appreciated the black beans versus normal refried beans. The only part of our experience that was lacking was the waiter that we had. He was not very attentive, never offered to refill our drinks, and completely disappeared when it came time to give us the check. I even had to get up and ask one of the other staff to track down our waiter so we could get our check. But other than that, it was a very good meal that we enjoyed very much and will almost certainly come back for more.

I called in a carry out order yesterday. A couple of weeks ago I realized they charge extra for processing credit card payments so I decided to pay with cash. I was shocked when I didnt get all my change back. It was only $.09 but that wasnt the point. I didnt need the $.09 but it was mine. If I wanted to give it to them it should have been my decision. I wonder if I had been $.09 short paying would they have let me walk out with my order. The only tip they got from me this time is what they decided to keep. The food is great but because of that experience I wont go back. Automatically deciding to keep any amount of a customers change is not a good business practice.

So disappointed in my latest visit to Jhonnys. I mean my wife and i have been patrons of this place since we walked in unbeknownst to us on their first day open. After a nice family meal, I was shocked to find a Non-Cash Adj charge to my check. After inquiring about it, it is for using my debit card or credit card. No where is it posted or said that you will be charged this if you dont pay with cash. I am sorry, but this is the cost of doing business. It is for this reason of an exrra fee to my bill without my knowledge that me and my family will no longer eat at Jhonnys. They should be up front and honest with their patrons if they are charging you extra fees.

Steak fajitas were tender, and good. Staff was pretty friendly. Salsa was not very good. Chips were fresh. Definitely didn t like having to go outside to go to the bathroom. Very small place. I would probably go back if I was in the area, but I wouldn t go out of my way to go there. Also they charge you to use a credit card, and give you a cheaper price to use cash.

Customer service was fantastic! Our first time here. We didn t care too much for the food. The burritos felt more like a bistro burrito fancy but tasteless. Not many options for sauce that are mild. The red sauce was okay but prefer green verde. Idk if we will be back. But we didn t try that brisket everyone is raving about.

We had a large group that wanted to sit outside. They were accommodating to seat us and turn on the heat. Our server Nick was the best, keeping our food and drinks coming non-stop! Ask for Nick, he will take care of you!!

Fake processed flour tortilla, so not authentic. I ask if they were homemade or store bought. Was told they arent made there. But a lady makes them and brings them to them. They are processed. But food was good not the best Mexican food. Staff was awesome and polite. Nice lil mom & pop atmosphere. Parking: Parking was tough. Its a small area with 1 lane wide between parking spots. Limited Wheelchair accessibility: Tight spacing.

Its a nice little cozy restaurant. Owners were walking around greeting people interacting. I like that. Food was delicious. I had the flautas dinner place. Their paleta shots are with tequila so Be careful. Great place

INCREDIBLE, melt-in-your-mouth, authentic Mexican cuisine. Top-notch service. Fun, relaxed atmosphere. Would never have known about this place if it wasn t for word-of-mouth from locals. Unbelievable prices for the portions and quality of the food. I highly recommend the guac, pork tacos, brisket tacos honestly, we ve never ordered anything we didn t like. Great virgin margarita, too.

Authentic TexMex. Not your average fare. These folks do it right. We got Trio Fajitas (Beef, chicken, and shrimp). The meats and the veggies where all cooked perfectly, and the side fixins where also great. Refried black beans, savory rice, fresh guacamole, sour cream, and Pico. We had both flour and corn tortillas. Also I, they have a fantastic jalapeño salsa that is the best Ive tried. We will definitely come back.
