My husband and I dine out everyday and this is our go-to place. It s almost embarrassing to admit that sometimes I ll go there for lunch AND dinner. Yes, food is that tasty and fresh! With inflation going through the roof, it feels justified to just dine at Nik s as its price is very reasonable. The server, Marlene, is our favorite of all time! Give this small establishment a try, you may get hooked like many of us usuals did. Can t recommend a single dish because I have tried it all and liked it all!

Hole in the wall was an apt description. An old, moderately worn restaurant that relies on a haphazard FM radio channel for entertainment. Where it lacks in style, it more than makes up for in delicious food and great service. The steak is decently priced, and absolutely tender and filled with flavor.

A hole in the wall place, with very little atmosphere or ambiance, but the food was really good and very reasonably priced. The heating was not working when we were there on Saturday, January 20, 2024, but we ordered appetizers and they were good enough for us to stay for the food! Dietary restrictions: I got my fish and shrimp blackened and it met my gluten-free needs. The Cajun rice was so good!

Not sure how this place got 4.3 stars. Everything I had was OK. From the service to the atmosphere. Steak was cooked to medium and wasnt flavorful at all. I ended up adding salt and pepper to avoid the steak sauce she brought out. Waitress kept her head down most of the time and didnt look up while I was trying to signal her for payment. Ended up just walking up there and paying at the register with no ticket. All in all, a very disappointing experience.

Tried this place out and was confused on why rated as high as it was. Walk in to dirty floors and table. Our server was probably a great guy not great at serving/communication. Was wearing a T-shirt and blue basketball shorts, not professional. Everything we ordered came out quick. My mom bought teriyaki chicken and asked for a refund. The chicken was so tough that it was like eating a well done steak. Dads chicken strips were good but a little to dried out. The gumbo I ordered needs a makeover..it was not traditional gumbo.. looked like salsa Verde. The chicken in the gumbo was tough. Fried boudan balls were okay. Star of the show was the BANGING hush puppies! Price was great! Waiter forgot to split the bill. I would try again due to pricing but I left saying that was okay...

We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food is. We didnt have high expectations for this little strip center establishment but the food is topnotch and the service is just as good. Staff is friendly. Service was not bad. Food is tasteless and edible. We shared a Grilled Red Snapper Entree with baked potato and hush puppies as a side. We had bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer and 2 drinks. $25.00. The appetizer was fried and butter sauce was bland. It tasted like movie theatre popcorn butter. Fish was not flakey it was salty, flat, tough, and dry. They do not have fried okra as an option. The restaurant itself is super small with only a handful of tables. I don t think I ll be returning. I do not recommend this place. I think their business is derived from people coming in for their lunch specials or looking for cheap eats.

The food is so awesome and hot. Fresh and delicious. This place is really a gem. I always get the grilled shrimp platter with sautéed zucchini and sautéed mix veggies. Super low carb and healthy. Their other food is delicious but not so healthy but literally their entire menu is yummy. Marianna is very sweet waitress I might be spelling her name incorrectly but she is a doll. I love this place and I always try to tell my friends and co-workers about this place. My ex coworker LEE told me about this place and I have been hooked ever since! If you are on FM 2920 looking for a place to eat you must come here. All of the grilled platters are so good and their Cajun rice is the best damn Cajun rice I have ever sank my teeth into. Stopped to grab a quick bite while waiting on our puppys surgery at the vets office, and was pleasantly suprised! Dont let the small size fool you, they have a very extensive menu! Really good food and super friendly service! Decor is spartan but staff and food make up for this. I had salad, gumbo, rib eye and fries. Salad was simple, very fresh, crisp and cold. The gumbo was spicy and full of chicken (I did order extra meat but wont next time) Steak was cooked perfectly, very tender and juicy. I liked the spices used, maybe salty for some but perfect for me. Fries were good but I will order onion rings next time. Dad got the fried onion rings and they were fantastic. They were served in their own little fryer basket. Cute. Also sampled from parents plates were shrimp; both grilled and fried. Shrimp were cooked perfectly, not over breaded, very flavorful. This spot fits the bill if you want great food and friendly service but are not concerned with fancy surroundings.

This is a very good comfort food place. I really enjoyed it! I loved how they spilt the menu into categories, like I Love Fried or I Love Grilled. The service was great, and the food had a great flavor. Being a Louisiana girl, I ordered the Shrimp Etoufée, and it was nothing like the Etoufée Ive had in Louisiana or made myself, but it was still very delicious. It was more like Shrimp Bisque, but that was okay, because the flavor was amazing! I will be returning here again.

Our first time eating there was tonight. We called in a large order they were very great at taking it over the phone checking how long it would be for the order to be ready. The service inn restaurant where we were picking up the food was great was nicely packaged. The food was amazing Even by the time we drove home it was still warm very tasty very large portions. Very disappointed. Fried Zucchini has no flavor, not even any salt, nothing but is fried perfectly. Seasonings on the grilled fish and shrimp is terrible they really need to get a different seasoning. The only thing that was really good was a piece of fish but not the whole filet of the fish, it seems that it was not seasoned equally over the whole piece of fish because I had two bites of my wifes fish and the first one was at tail end and it was very bland but the second bite was at head end of the fish and it was excellent, so if I were to ever go back I would take a chance on the fried fish but nothing else. I might even ask to make sure that the fish was seasoned properly before I ordered anything. Some chefs grab seasoning in their fingers and spread the seasoning that way and they never season anything equally and should not be done that way to a piece of fish.

This is an Awesome spot for Keto! The food is great and well prepared. I have to say, I miss the two young ladies and the tall gentlemen who use to work there. The girls were extremely friendly and had a welcoming attitude. An attitude that said, welcome to our kitchen, were glad you stopped in for a visit. The three of them had such great personalities. My resent visit wasnt as pleasant. The young man seemed bothered by the crowd. He was edgy and very short. He didnt want to take my order togo. He made rethink placing an order. He let me know my wait time was going to be longer than 30min. When I insisted, he told me he was very busy. He stated, there were tables to care for that was already ahead of me . WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING? OMG!!! Went there for the first time last night. We watched them open up and just never went. Been driving by all this time and kept saying we need to try this place. We should have done it! Food was exceptional! Fried pickles great. Wife ordered popcorn shrimp with 2 sides. Shrimp had a fresh taste and excellent batter. Salad was very fresh. I ordered the single grilled pork chop with 4 grilled shrimp. Well seasoned and tasted delicious. Cajun rice is very good too. Large portions and excellent prices. This mom and pop restaurant is 10x better than Red Lobster.

The Teriyaki Chicken on rice with broccoli and carrots is a great value and tastes very good. Coleslaw makes an exvellent side to this dish, too. A favorite of both of us. I also likr3 the Steak sub Were both glad we found Nicks.

I held my opinion till the second time my family visited this place to see if the experience is consistent, as I was in disbelief the first time that this little hole in the wall can be such a top notch restaurant. The ambiance is very understated, non-existent really -- but dont judge that book by its modest cover: you come here for soul food and fantastic service. Everything we tried was cooked to perfection -- no weird flavors, no underseasoned anything, no cheapo ingredients here. Looks, flavors and aromas are most delectable! I appreciate that everything is NOT brown and deep fried like most eateries around, but had a variety and distinctiveness in each dish. My 5 and 3 year olds devoured the bright perfectly steamed broccoli and (a NOT soggy) coleslaw. MIRACLE right there, folks. Shrimp -- bright pink, perfectly charred and not dried out. Hamburger is to die for. Even the banal onion rings are the most fluffy, crispy, airy wonders. Their grill menu is more appropriately should be called blackened method, by the way, but it is not spicy. New Orleans style food --the best I ate in Spring since moving here 4 years ago. Oh, and the service both times was EXEMPLARY. I highly recommend this restaurant!
