This was my first time dining here and wow!!! What a great experience!!! The food was delicious and its presentation was like fine dining. It is more of an authentic Mexican style and not Tex-Mex. The restaurant is small with a nice and clean atmosphere. The service was first class!!! I highly recommend eating here!!! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp close to the front door.

Phenomenal food, service and atmosphere. The chef was nice enough to come around and even explained the dish. Can t wait to come back, it sounds like the menu changes often. I had the Chile en Nogada, she said its a dish created by nuns in Puebla in honor of Agustín de Iturbide, one of the leaders of the independence movement of Spain and I had purple drink that was great but I forget the name of(lol) started with a C.

This family owned and run restaurant serves authentic Mexican food with 6 or 7 specials that change weekly, as well as standard dishes that are part of their standard fare. The enchiladas verses were outstanding, and my husband s chile relleno passed his exacting standards with flying colors. Not to be missed.

First time trying out Mexican Moms and it did not disappoint. I got the Enchilada Verde and they were so good. Literally melted in my mouth. My husband got the special, pork and pineapple dish. My first time here. This is a hidden gem at the spring-woodlands area. When we got there we saw a beautiful restaurant, with beautiful decorations. At first everything was great. We ordered appetizers (empanadas) which were delicious. I recommend the beef ones. Then we ordered our food that came in parts. After we got our food service was a little bad. We asked for a few items that we didn t get. It was silverware, cup for water and Jamaica flavor water. There were only 2 servers and the restaurant was full. I understand that they were busy but maybe they need more people. Food was delicious definitely I ll back but I hope next time we will get better service. If you decide to come you need to know that you have to have extra time but it s worth the wait. From the sweet ambiance to the excellent customer service to the exquisite food, this was by far my best dining experience in the Greater Houston area in my decade or more visiting family here. Chef/Owner Gina Antimo is simply gifted not to mention generous. The empanadas de carne and the enchiladas verdes were exquisite! Not to mention plated beautifully. It was my Cuban mother s birthday and she raved that the weekly special ropa vieja was as good if not better than her own mother s! They even treated her to a special tres leches and sang for her to close out the amazing meal. I had a wonderful experience at Mexican Moms kitchen. The service and food are notch. The menu has a section that changes weekly with new items and a regular menu that never changes, so you visit every week and try something new every time. The appetizer was wonderful, and I wish I had remembered the name of it, but the next time I visit, I will remember to check. The beef Empanadas and my chocolate tres Leche were the best I have had in a long time. Bravo! The real deal mom and pop restaurant with homemade food and an upscale, quaint atmosphere. Do not expect speedy service (this is not a bad thing). This is not a fast food joint so relax and enjoy . We ordered the flan and the tres leches with ronpope to go but tasted a little of it and it was good too. All was made fresh and the tortillas were good too. We were so glad that we could dine here. This small, cute restaurant just fulfill all your expectations. We had a farewell get together for our friends here. Initially we were about 25 guests when we started discussions with Gina, the owner cum chef. She was very forthcoming with all her suggestions. But on the D day we ended up only 15 guests, which Gina didnt seem to mind...mind you, the whole food was customized according to our budget. My friend and I, eating here for the first time, were a little disappointed that they didnt serve chips and salsa. However, our friendly server brought us some delicious verde salsa with chips. As an appetizer we had the queso fundido with chorizo and homemade tortillas. This was excellent. This is truly a family-owned restaurant -- and a family-friendly restaurant. Plenty of well-lit parking. The restaurant is clean, and seats about 45 to 50 people, I believe. My wife and daughter ate here yesterday. When they told me about it, I decided I would like to give it a try. The staff (the family) are really nice and friendly. The menu is a bit limited, but that may change over time. Even if the menu doesnt change, the food was delicious. To me, the food and atmosphere were less like your standard restaurant and more like visiting someone for a home-cooked meal. I find that refreshing. My wife and I shared empanadas for appetizers: 1 pablano corn; 1 chicken; and 1 manzana (which we saved for dessert). To be honest, we could have made a full meal of the empanadas and been perfectly satisfied -- but we had already ordered the chicken enchiladas verde to share for our main course, so I geared up and dug in. All of our meal was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this restaurant, and I fully intend to return. This definitely meets my would you do it again? test.

We have enjoyed dining-in at Mexican Moms several times since we first heard about it, and every single time it has been outstanding, 5 out of 5 stars! Thats one reason we decided to stay in town for a big birthday this year, and have Chef Gina come to our home and prepare and serve several appetizers and entrees. Her love for creative cooking and serving made it a joyous occasion with 10 of our friends here in our house. She served a most incredible cilantro mouse and guacamole with totopos (fresh made chips), mussels in an amazing chorizo/chipotle/port wine sauce. The poblano empanadas were amazing. She then served enchiladas banderas, a green chile carne guisada, shrimp in a mango-chipotle glaze, and Chiles en Nogada!!!!!!! First impression was a clean but very homey place exactly like going to your Mexican friend or family s place for dinner. The more we sat, the more we noticed and the more comfortable and appealing the atmosphere became. The owner quickly ran from the kitchen when I placed my purse on the floor and put it up on a step-stool, letting me know that in Mexico, the custom says you can t do that or you lose all your money. It was incredibly endearing and made us feel like we were amongst friends, and not just guests at a typical restaurant with meal prepared by someone you ll never see. That feeling continued as we watched her and other employees dance as they prepped the meals. The menu is small with most dishes rotating, but the empanada and several dishes, including one we ordered (enchiladas bandera) are constant. I truly love that concept and it means each dish is given lots of attention. We started with one each of the three savory empanada. The pic is only half of each as I dove in before remembering they re nice size. Served with a slightly too spicy for my wimpy mouth pepper sauce and a delightfully fresh chimichurri. I did use the hot sauce, just very sparingly. Empanadas: Chicken: my fav. Tender and flavorful and just a very consistent bite. Poblano: this was also tasty I liked the creamy contrast to the slightly crunchy shell Mexican mom sirloin: in comparison to most empanada I ve had, this would be a winner. It was our least favorite of the three. Flavor profile was fine but unusual and some of the sirloin chunks were too large for our liking. Entrees: Chile en Nogado: I ve been waiting, hunting, searching and sadly missed them on their last go round here due to the party. It was worth the wait. It was the exact taste in my memory perfectly spiced meat and apples and all the things stuffed into a pepper and the creamiest, dreamiest walnut sauce, topped with pomegranate seeds. It satisfied my desperate craving perfectly. This is not a dish for everyone it s for the savory/sweet lovers only, but it s just an amazing dish. While their menu rotates, my guess is that it will be back soon as it s a traditional fall dish. Raving about rice seems odd, but the rice it came with was also perfectly done and tasty. Bandera enchiladas: Wow. Just wow. The red sauce was so amazingly full of flavors and freshness. It was a hair spicy, but again, I m a bit on the light side of spice tolerance and in no way did this stop me from enjoying every single mouthful. I would buy the sauce if they sold it lol. I had fun switching from that to the sweet Chile en nogada to add a sweet heat element. The salsa verde was incredible. The meats and cheeses in the dish were perfectly done. It was full of complex flavors but somehow, exactly as simple as you want comfort food to be. We added an egg on top the egg did come on the side as they were also hard at work on an AC issue so shorter staffed, but they added the touch of including the sauces on top of the beautifully done over medium egg. The best surprise bite was the refried beans. I don t know how you make refried beans taste that good, but I know it involves a lot of love because spices alone could not result in that. Dessert: Rompopo Tres Leches: Huge, excellent rum raisin flavor, great texture, and the raspberry drizzle adds an element to cut the sweet Flan: This was a firmer flan than is either of our normal preference, but the flavor is 100 % there and the caramel sauce was perfection. It was a bit cold on arrival and as it warmed up, it got better and better. We are every bit; I wanted to lick the sauce off the plate. @Ju Wienke and I agreed that the only thing wrong with the place is that it s not next to either of our houses . Mom was quick to point out that it s a halfway meeting spot for us. Since it is small and homey, it got busy at points, but I promise, if you go, it ll be worth the wait. This was one of the best meals I ve ever eaten in my life, hands down.

Mexican Mom is absolutely amazing. They have a set menu and also weekly specials. The chilaquiles were the best we ve ever eaten, and the fish and mushroom special was perfectly cooked. They only have beer and wine current while they wait for their liquor license, and I highly recommend the michelada. The pastries were glorious. We grabbed one of each and took most home to our family, which made them very happy. Service was excellent and the ambiance features a lovely elevated casual decor. Wonderful, traditional Mexican food (not TexMex, which you can find much more easily). I can t wait to go back.

This was my first time visiting and I wish I could give it more than five stars. From the moment I walked in I was greeted like family by Gina Mexican Mom and Mexican Dad. I was picking up a to go order and while chatting with them Gina offered me one of her specialty margaritas on the house and it was amazing! What a different Mexican food experience. We get kind of jaded in Texas--Mexican food is everywhere. Its fun to find a unique place with a new approach and a different menu. I ordered an empanada and choriqueso to go. I was advised (and rightly so) that the queso would cool and not be as good as in house and still warm. I finally made it to this restaurant and I was blown away! The food is delicious and the serves is great. The ambiance is so cozy and I loved the couch seating I enjoyed using on my visit. This isn t your typical Texmex cheese smothered dishes. It s very much home cooked and every bite is pack with delicious flavor. We started with couple empanadas which were delicious and the sauces they come with are also very good. I tried the Enchilades Verdes with an added egg on top and the tastes and presentation were extraordinary. Oh my gosh yall ! Mmm mmm mmm ! We discovered this AMAZING restaurant and let me tell you, it was BEYOND the BEST AUTHENTIC MEXICAN food I have ever had! I ordered the chicken enchiladas and it was a very generous portion and lots of sauce just like I like it ! It was DELICIOUS . My husband got the moms chicken and OMGOSH it was AMAZING!!! To top off our meal we had the chocolate tres leches ( I normally do not ever eat that kind of cake but my husband wanted to try it.) That cake was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS !!!! The owners are so kind and Gina came out to our table and asked how our meal was and told us that she had made something special for another customer that was vegan, it was a lasagna. She had some extra and sent it home with us to try it for lunch the next day along with a little extra moms chicken. The next day we tried the lasagne and it was also very delicious I am so glad we found this hidden gem. We will definitely tell all our friends and will be regular customers from now on.

Finally, a place with 100% Mexican food. I am a fan of chiles in Nogada, and the ones here are my favorites I have to go back to try the meatballs.
